I will post the full route we had developed for the (U) version. It was going to be slightly modified to suit the (J) version, but the discovery of dry storage is going to require large route modifications anyway.
Sorry if this is common knowledge, but why does the route need modification for the (J) version?

What makes you think/say that?
What gives you epona is leaving lon lon ranch by jumping the fences. If you do some bomb hovering and exit without using a horse, you still will epona.
Your second sentence is true. You do get Epona with the bombhoveringtrick. I don't see how that makes your first sentence true though.
Because it doesn't matter how you leave. If you leave over the fence, via any means, you get epona. Whether it's jumping over with epona, bomb hover, l to levitate, or jumping over with another horse.

The controller is polled at 60 fps, even when the game doesn't run at 60 fps. My guess would be lag. Even if nothing happens for a frame, the controller is still polled (and dolphin will skip the frame when you frame advance). If you look at a .dtm of a game that runs at 30 fps, you'll see that every single input is doubled. or occasionally tripled.

You can end input as soon as you can start the credits without further input. You can safely ignore anything prompts after the credits, assuming there's no more gameplay or something afterwards.

so should i cancel it?
Well, if you're enjoying making it, then by all means, keep working on it. If however you want to do something that other people will enjoy, this is one of the worst games you could choose to tas.

You guys need a separate topic for freeruns.

what's the point?
As a person who wants to see a new 120 star run, but thinks the free runs were an a cool gimmick that were run into the ground years ago...
I stopped checking this topic, regardless of the number of new posts, because to me, as a casual fan, free runs have become repetitive and boring.
I thought I was the only one.
The only one who stopped checking this thread? Nah, me too.
But yeah, free runs are rarely entertaining. Occasionally some aren't bad though.

^ I take it that is why. It might be something that changes/messes up otherwise.. Afterall even if some GC TAS's are possible, dolphin is very desyncable as an emulator, not saying that that's a reason he didn't start from power on or anything... Just saying why I can understand the reason for the whole provided save file thing.
Er, no it's not. Dolphin syncs perfectly for just about every gc game (mario sunshine is the only one i know for sure has ever desynced at all since nitsuja fixed save states).
I doubt whatever his problems with the save file was was anything more than just not making sure it was exactly the same file every time he played his movie back (this game is constantly saving). Dolphin makes no attempt to verify that save data is the same.
But yet... You could have just made the run without a memory card present or does it not sync from power on gamerfreak?
This movie was recorded from power on.
Also I may just be confused on this but why does the submission say the movie is 10 minutes 21 seconds but the encode has the last input at 10 minutes 32 seconds?
It actually looks like 43,962 frames (12:12.7). The problem is that there are two counts recorded by dolphin. One is how many times the controller is polled (60 times per second for gc games, even if they run at 30 fps), the other is vertical interrupts. Tasvideos uses the latter number to calculate length, but for gc games the former is a more accurate measurement.
I assume the reason the video is shorter is because he played through the credits, but cut that from the video, but since i can't get it to sync, i can't say for sure.

Does it happen every time? If not, just keep trying until it doesn't. This error is usually avoidable by just doing something differently right before it.

Oh right, i forgot about that. I don't think it'll be a problem for tas though.
I'll run through the game and see how rupee manipulation goes when i get the chance though, just to be sure.
There's still work to do to make the forum friendlier in this regard
Right, i just thought i'd mentioned where some others were that i knew of. Sorry if you already knew about those, and just hadn't gotten around to fixing them yet.
