The link on the logo at the top of the forums still points to http://tasvideos.org/ . As well as the links to tasvideos.org, site faq, and forum rules at the top. The site faq link at http://ipv4.tasvideos.org/forum/faq.php also does it.

I have, and I've tried, and I've helped with some testing for blob before and some other things, but ultimately I found the curve to be highly proficient to be higher than what I have the time for and I chose to focus on other things more important in my life. And yes I agree it would be great if I was highly proficient with in game OoT TASing and could give everyone the definitive proof they need to see to accept anything beyond idiocracy. I know many close minded people would love to see me leave, which is why I've given them the perfect opportunity to see that happen. My suggestion which they've so blatantly dismissed as idiocracy, I am putting on the line. So it's time they put their OoT speedrunning existence where their mouth is or stop talking.
You don't need to be amazing. You seem to think it's a significantly faster, so it doesn't really matter if your timing is off by a couple seconds, does it?
okay Mr. Spiderwaffle I will take an intellectual approach to solving our petty dispute. The timings you "estimated" for skipping sword are missing some key details. Where are you going to get all of that money you need? There is a red rupee in zora's river that is 3-5 seconds out of the way. You might want that for your second deku stick. Then there is the fact that you HAVE to skip mido due to no sword. Just getting the skulltula to come out of the soil to megaflip off of is a 19-20 seconds (timed on console a TAS MIGHT be able to manipulate it for 15-17 seconds), but after that you are left with one deku stick. Doing the megaflip instead of the antigrav is definitely 4-5 seconds slower there too. Then there is the fact of the double death with gohma. You MIGHT be able to pull it off with isg, but I highly doubt it is possible since the deku stick's hitbox is in front of link if he has it out and putting it away would force you to 2 cycle making it slower. So let's back track, you would have to buy a 3rd deku stick from the shop so you could double death. Again that is about 5-7 seconds lost from picking up those extra rupees. So as you can see, skipping deku stick is in fact slower than getting sword if we use your estimations and mine together. As an experienced OoT speedrunner I would assume most people here would trust my estimations over yours too :)
Not that it matters, but if you're doing mido skip with a megaflip, you could just kill the deku babas with isg, no?

Not in any case worth considering. 64 bit is fine to use. You may wish to use OGL, to help ensure it syncs between windows/linux/mac (also, ogl is just better anyway), but this doesn't usually affect sync either.

There's not, though they can all be used wired, with any usb cable.

Amazingly, this TAS is only about twice as fast as the human world record. (note that the main time listed is a composite of beginner, medium, and expert scores; the WR expert score is 31.13.)
That would make this ~31x faster.

In an effort to avoid several hours of work trying to make every future dolphin movie sync, i am going to list out everything that should be done to ensure anyone else can get your movie to sync, with as little hassle as possible. While this is probably incomplete, it should hopefully be sufficient. First, before you start tasing, always download a fresh copy of dolphin from http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/download . If you are using a different build, still do this, and just replace the exe. This will ensure that all settings, and other files are the same as what everyone else will have. Don't change any settings that aren't important. Pretty much anything can affect sync, so if you don't have a reason to change a setting, leave it alone. Keep a separate copy of dolphin for each game you tas. While not strictly necessary, it will greatly simplify making sure nothing changes, if you use dolphin for anything else. Dolphin makes no attempt to make sure important files haven't changed since you recorded a movie, and you may not always be aware that they changed. Post the entire dolphin\user\config folder with your submissions. Even if you think you listed out everything important, you probably didn't, so just post this to make sure. If you started tasing without a clean copy of dolphin, and it doesn't sync on a clean copy, figure out what is necessary to make it sync before submitting, and include it. The easiest way to do this is to copy one folder from the user directory at a time, until it syncs. The obvious ones that can affect sync are config, wii, and gameconfig. Just because it synced fine for you does not mean it will for anyone else! Turn off EuRGB60 for wii games, unless playing a pal game. This is on by default, and affects sync, even for ntsc games. Don't ask me why, just turn it off. The tl;dr here is before submitting a movie, please determine what exactly is needed to make it sync, so i don't have to do it for you.

By the way, what can of anti-sync-safe mystake may I have done ?
Starting a game, exiting, then starting another without closing dolphin entirely. edit: syncs just fine with this, as well as a clean copy of rbc61dbdf58a8bb088109839c5f25e7183830b166. edit: it seems user\wii\shared2\sys\SYSCONF is the file that was necessary to make it sync.

I can get it to play, by doing something that is not at all sync-safe, and i really hope you didn't do, but it alwas desyncs in the first level. Opening dolphin and playing the movie always results in the play wiimote error though. edit: post your entire dolphin folder.

Can you post your entire settings folder (dolphin\user\config)? Also, did you use 32 or 64 bit?

but hopefully it will sync with different versions.
It won't. Dolphin hardly ever syncs between revisions anymore.
Also, i just noticed that one of the input buttons on the controller was my frame advance button, so that may have contributed to desync. I guess itll be faster just to redo some of it.
While that could certainly cause problems while tasing, it will not cause desyncs.
The only thing I do is that when I record inputs, I use Direct3D11, then to dump video I use OpenGL. I think that using those 2 works fine, but Direct3D9 and switching between that causes desyncs.
Depends on the game. I usually tas with d3d9, and dump with ogl.

Ubuntu.com is available even if you misspel the domain name as «ubunut.com» :)
Because they own the domain ubunut.com, and have a redirect setup. The same thing could be done for any site, but it costs money to register a million different domains, especially when someone already owns them.

So, that source that you linked to... does changing the value make every single load the same?
As i already said, no. it just changes the rate it loads data at, and the latency before it starts reading.

Yep, that's how i read it myself. However most don't, so using an is perfectly valid.

The current TASVideos motto, "When human skills are just not enough", sounds stilted and unnatural.
I disagree with this, they both sound more or less the same. If anything, i think i'd be more likely to say "are just not enough".
And as an added bonus, if you implement both my changes, the lengths of both lines match up perfectly, giving very pleasing symmetry.
I can definitely agree with this though.

I wrote out the approximate math a few posts
No, you only timed out how long it took to get the sword. MrGrunz timed out some of the time lost from not having sword+getting rupees, but it was incomplete, and he was not sure which was faster.

Oh, ok. I guess it doesn't matter then. Why have people been so concerned about it then?
Also would editing the loading time make all loading times the same length?
No, of course not.

Well I can mess around with that, but if I can't get it to accurate I don't see a point..
Because all or nothing is a terrible philosophy. Aren't there things in this game that depend on the load times? That seems like a good reason to try to fix it a little.
