Just watched the movie and wanted to say that I think this is by far the best speedrun I've ever seen and probably the best for a long long time. I mean, it's a 3d game where you can absolutely move freely in every direction and you yet managed to get the (by what I can tell) quickest way through the stages. This has nothing to do with regular speedruns, it's art! Thx man!
Yup I think so but I'm really not sure if it can happy the way you got to him. I saw him not doing the wave spell when I was working on my speedrun video but I played from the first level on. Would surprise me if this makes a difference. I rather think it's where you are and what you do, maybe distance from him or sth like that. You should keep in mind that they have made so that you can fight him without getting hit without the ability to save/load states.
These 55 seconds look nice from what one can see but it might be that you have to do most of it again, because as far as i know it's possible that he never does his wave attack which would save some frames...
If you're using only Silver Armor with the Lance, you'll get beaten pretty easily. Bronze with a Dagger does more damage faster, guaranteed. I don't know of there are any places where the Dragon spell would be good enough to warrant finding Gold Armor and charging the spell, though.
Also, Bisqwit has allowed us to use the level select to jump to 7-2 (Belth 1 and 2) so as to skip playing the whole first loop.
Yeah didn't do this video with an intense of speedrun, just wanted to get used to the emulator. Think I'm gonna use the cheat then. I guess it makes sense since both loop are VERY much the same keys.
And to the submission, I'm also having to vote a no, the raging sea parts are crap and the fact that this player played (E) alone sucks. E on hardest setting is IMO much easier than (U) on easy. The differences in difficulty due to settings are very little anyway.
But watching the video I realize that this one deffinetely is a lot faster than my first attempt and it's not bad at all it just has some minor issues and it lacks showing off scenes which you can do much in this game, but I'll still have to watch the whole thing *continue watching*
I've done a movie over night with silver armor and spear only where I play both loops to the boss before the last boss. It's the U version and setting is on normal. I'll do a second one in a few days where I play professionel mode and get the ring to be able to defeat sardius.
If you want a glimpse you can watch the vid here, it's crap (didn't watch the video discussed here so I don't really know but from what I've heard this one is better except the boss battles) though but raging sea parts are pretty hawt.
