I am currently watching it - I am up to the end of world 6 when the King Asks you for the Hammer Bros. outfit... I never knew that the hammer bros. outfit existed when I played the game...I knew the frog and "Raccoon" outfits existed...but I found it hard getting them when playing through myself on the NES/SNES (I had the original and all-stars.)

I am watching the video file...I believe there is something wrong with the recording...or the notes...because the characters have gone. *Reptile *Sub-zero *Kitana *kung lao *scorpion *Jonny Cage Edit: I am not sure what has happened...it might be possible that I have the old movie or something. downloading the video linked from the OLD entry just in case...

PS FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE VIDEO. As I mentioned in the post, for some reason it doesn't seem to play well in VLC player but plays fine in WMP (at least for me). I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you, I could try other settings.
I had sound probolems (they started after crossing the finishing line the first time.) It did not spoil my enjoyment of the run...It was good. I am not sure what SC means (I think Saving Catch...) could someone tell me?

I vote yes on this too...I liked the only trainer (I remember) which had to walk - the team Aqua member in the Weather building... Also is it just me or does the overworld sprite of the "leader" of team Aqua remind you of Silent Bob. (or Kevin Smith dressed like a pirate.)

I vote yes - but on the assumption that it will be put in the hacks section along with the previous walk-a-thon.

As a person who had the unfortunate opportunity to actually play this game on a real SNES...please don't...this is one of them games which is the reason why the only good Luigi game is Luigi's mansion. the game is very boring and it will be very easy to do on an emulator at even normal speed: - bring yoshi to the right city. (can be done with trial and error...) - get all the red koopas. (on map which you won't need to look at because of save states.) - return the stolen landmarks and answer the questions. (again using maps which you won't need to look at.) - return - repeat.

The eggplant depletes the lifebar at a quicker rate for as long as it's "active". Andreas
now getting that makes a whole lot more sense now (It took me about 3 levels to spot that you got as small as possible live bar to get low score add ups.)

voted yes as well...I understood most of the speed run (why you did what you did.) except for the part when there is what looks like an eggplant following you. (I call it an eggplant because it looks like eggplant from KI.)

Yes I knew that about the death, I was just going to let jimsfriend say that himself. There is no point in a TAS on virtual console since they are just classic games.
I meant the first run on SDA. (we did have the first wii run already.)

not sure if it would make a good run or not either...It was interesting - it reminded me of playing Clock Tower slightly. (now there is another game which might not be an good TAS...(Is it bad that this game scares me.))

you speedrunners make me look bad comparatively... I have only ever recorded myself playing a game once...and that was to show a warp in a game called Mario Forever. If you want to watch and laugh - go right ahead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkUDMYVCEto

Deep Loner: I will watch the video first. But unless I see some mistakes in a video (or the video is boring (thats what meh is for)) I would vote yes. skamastaG: He died during the run so it is not like it is a perfect run yet anyway (that is reason enough to atleast redo it.) and yes I did know it was a console run... I wonder when we will have the first "virtual console" run on the wii...or XBLA re-release run.

I was playing Mario world on my wii this week and I thought about this topic... I am always amazed at what speed runners can do compared to me... The starworld shell jump was amazing. I can't wait to see the full TAS run and when it comes up for the vote it will definitely be a yes from me.

I am just after the Seventh gym now...I don't know if this is mentioned in the thread of not but I have spotted a part which could save a couple of second of time overall. If you switch the pokemon which are in the second/third slots you have a level 25 pokemon instead of a level 7. because of the EXP difference between the levels it won't level up as much (maybe twice I think.) in that gym leader match. Edit: just thought another way to speed it up...but this one will make is "less impressive". it basically is going to the pokemon centre in the town where the 5th gym is, so that when you die you don't have to backtrack through two roads.

I actually did think that while watching the movie in October...the fight scene is basically...lets just have the two characters beat each other up for no reason at all.

It is a fun watch - like how you didn't waste the reload time... Also like how the Score was Beaten in the HS table by nearly 2000% (If i recall correctly.) should of posted this yesterday but I was too busy revising.

I will just post this to explain my reasons for using the 4 minute mile as an analagy. when I was in high school a read a either a poem or short story about the breaking of the 4 minute mile - when I was watching the SM run when it came out and I read the news post with it in - the emotions expressed in the poem came back to me. the exileration, the excitiment, the disbelieve. so when I saw this topic I felt like writing this down instead of just thinking it. Not stop this stupid argument laughing gas.

I was using it as an analagy of doing something people think is impossible. In 1954 people didn't think it was possible to run the 4 minute mile untill someone did it (and it was 3:59.4 when they did it.) People thought that this was impossible to do SM under 35 min (none-tas) before someone done it.
