Well, dealing with this piece of desynch. I dont know what to do anymore. I have literally got past the owl 5 times and everytime I play back the movie, the god damn son of a bitch flies a different direction. I have jumped over the gate 3 times to come to realize that I have to go back and see if that owl wants to fly the right way. I might be throwing this away because of desynch issues. If this game doesnt get thrown out, to answer the time question. I am saying that this game will be done in sub 1 hour 55 minutes :) That means, skipping at least 6-8 cutscenes that last 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. skipping the 2 temples I went to last time. Its all science.
I really hope you don't give up. :) In the mean time, while we are all waiting for Guano to do this TAS, my rejected OoT run may keep you guys entertained. http://speeddemosarchive.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=consoles_older;action=display;num=1163965351;start=0 I'm sure some of you know about it by now, but I'm just posting it for those who don't. It got rejected because of the Skulltula Vine Glitch in the Deku Tree. I have yet to officially time it but the unofficial time is 2:33:07.
why would it get rejected because you used a "boundry glitch" um... and why do we have no sword at this point in the game.. im missing somthing...

Hmm, i have yet to experiece any desyncs at all. I have it on my computer and have played through a lot of the parts of the game. I have mupen and MM at school and have beaten the game with as minimal things as possible using most of the savestates with a lot of saves..... hard to RElate with you guys! but then again i use the japenese version at school because the US one wouldnt start.. that might be why and im just lucky here at my house.. i dunno

Is there really a zora flying out of water glitch? I saw a video of that on youtube, but that was just him using a levitate glitch and only recording part of the screen. Is it actually do-able and can you tell me, I would very much like to try.

In fact, I would much rather you not optimize it for a few reasons. 1. Harder on you. 2. Makes absolutely no difference 3. We dont need extra time spent on a part of the game everyone will forget once we finally get through this boring part. I think we can all agree that next WIP sooner is better than next WIP later.

I did mention this earlier you can shoot a bubble at the middle of the clock tower in order to get three ruppees, which would give you a quick upgrade to the adult wallet as you'll need to get the chest in ECT.
The adult wallet upgrade requires 200 rupees, not 100.
Um, you only get 99 rupees at a time. so 99 + 99 = 198. You need 2 more rupees for the adult wallet. I think hes saying that these are the 2(3) rupees.

um.. seeing as it doesnt matter either way cuz yuor going to have to wait for time, i would go down the bottom exit and flip around for a few minutes b4 the clock tower.

Heres going to be the sum of the lvls Gym one: -went as expected, all crits and all enemy misses Gym two: -went as expected, all crits and all enemy misses .... ... .... ... .. Elite Four: -This one was a tough one, all crits and all enemy misses. In no way was this exactly the same as playing on a gameshark because we didnt use one.

Someone want to explain the hole route(because nothing else is goin on here), im really sure people would like to know(including me). Im playing the game on an emlator during history class and get goron, then zorro, then was able to kill the giant spitting water guy with the boomerang blades. Then i got to the palace and realized I needed a bottle for the magic beans, then remember you could skip 90% of it by goron bounce. Now i will progress tomorrow. Can the deku dungeon be shortened because you have boomerang blades before the bow. But you need bottles later, right..? or are we just gonna bomb glitch over everything... or has all this been answered on previous pages that I cant stand reading. Reply Thanks.
No offense, but maybe it'd be in your interest to pay more attention in school. The route = complete the four dungeons and defeat Majora's Mask on the moon. The end.
you know, out of all the forums i have been to, everyone is a bit of a idiot... except this one. Why ruin it now?

I thought THPS 2 came out for n64... if anything we should do that one. You can manual to a quaterpipe, pull out an insane trick, land, revert, manual again and still be in the same trick combo. And yes, they had reverts in TPHS 2...

it doesn't matter to the speedrun, we got completely distracted. For obvious reasons yes Epona will be skipped, it's skippable and saves a lot of time so it'd be only nostalgic to save the biped.
horses are quadrupeds, did I miss something? edit:

Have you ever seen Epona smile? maybe she's glad to not have to deal with Link in both TASes... (can horses smile? Is Epona female?) I mean she's a tiny horse, I bet she hates having Link ride her...
uhhh, you've probably never read this. Also you probably never should read it. it will scar your mind forever. Don't read it.
was that long thing meant to be read?

wait... i havent played the hole game in a long time but how necasarry are the lens of truth? Cause when your up in the graveyard area, you are able to just play the song of healing without talking to him. The thing is I dont know if you have to have him visible with the lens of truth or not. some one want to test it? Because this way you can get the goron a lot faster and maybe roll to the lens of truth if you still need it later in the game. I pretty sure this will be possible. This could save some time... Check out the ssa site, i think they have some good ideas there maybe... worth a look.
I think what you've said comes hand in hand.

hey nitsuja, i am having a terrible lag whenever a spinning item appears (i.e. the jiggies, the coconut, the gold, etc). do you have any idea of why is this? it runs perfectly fine when they don't appear. nice run sami, it looks publishable for me but if you want to improve it i'm not gonna stop you :P
Exactly the same thing that just started to happen to me...

Incidentally, how DO you quickspin on emu?
How to quickspin (reposting from other thread): - Hold in each of 3 directions for 1 frame each, then press B + the 4th direction on the next frame. - By 1 frame I really mean 3 input frames. So it will take ~12 frame advances. Example of keypresses: Hold left and press \ 3 times. Then hold down and press \ 3 times. Then hold right and press \ 3 times. Then hold up and hold the key for the B button and press \ 3 times. Then unpause and watch Link spin. Repeat until dizzy.
How do you do it on the n64? same way but a lot of practice?

Be sure the crawl around sometime later then... maybe on one of those rainbow carpets. Crawling needs to be featured somewhere...
Thats exactly what I was thinking, except for doing it when the key falls down from dead bowser and bounces. Thats what I used to do and it looked very funny. A tired, red blinking health mario, having to resort to crawling to get the bowser key. Used to make me laugh.

Thank you. Heh, the map itself was fine, but the lines all over the place was confusing, in terms of what you do where. Your explanation cleared that up fine. I'm actually downloading some tools now that I'll use for 3D map creation, for the purpose of Banjo-Kazooie. I was told how to do this a while ago on another forum but never had a use for the directions; but I hunted down the post, and I'm going to try it out. If it works, I'll let you all know. :D
ok, that will be awsome. And when it doesnt work, look again because this would be Awsome.
