Such a lively conversation over ole Bongo. I stayed up extra to watch and boy what a ride. I ain't been on tasvideos forums in ages but I had to remember my password to post this! - I liked the "kissing the wall" technique - The dinosaur becoming the chased and then warping space time was also great. And yes, there's a growing "Bongo community" among classic arcade aficionados on the Twitch retro category. I heard about this tas from a Bongo stream chat, no less!

I dunno. The other video had variety, but elbow to the groin has an elbow to the groin. It's a tough call, but I'm going to have to go with elbow to the groin. Seriously though, Pit Fighter doesn't exactly lend itself to "playaround" videos, especially when the previous run is just rapid fire combos to everyone. Voting yes. Edit: In case there are those who are unaware or have forgotten the reference, I am making an obvious reference to a Simpsons episode, where there is a film festival. Hans Moleman submitted "Man getting hit with football" which consists of himself standing in his front yard, then getting hit by a football in his groin, much to Homer's delight. The image is a homage/ripoff to the title card used for Hans' video.

Summarily voting no, since this is slower than existing Contra runs. Expecting this to become gruefood. For the author: Le TAS de Contra (Probotector = Contra dans Japon, Canada et les Etats Unis) est plus vite. Je vote non. (Je ne parle pas Francais pour quelque ans, je suis desole)

Voting no due to ending as well. It looks incredibly sloppy.

Where can I find a version of FBA that supports this video? The only one I can find that loads it is 0.3 and it desynchs this video halfway through. 0.24.94.98 doesn't seem to load FBM files, nor does it even appear to support this game.

Seems to desync around frame 6000 (instead of the door key being selected, the "exit" option is selected) I'm using 1.43+ v10 (record-reset) and also tried v9, any ideas? v11 beta 20 RC4 does not desync.
I've also learned you can get a zip gun if you dont have the baretta when you get to the caryards (when you wake up?). I'm not sure if you have to not pick it up or if you can sell it to the business man (mm extra nuyen).
If you equip the Beretta, you won't be able to sell it before getting another weapon. (turns out I was wrong) But, if you get it, and sell it (only 200 nuyen) you'll get the zip-gun when you talk to Glutman.

I... need to vote yes on this one. I can't say why, other than "watch it up to the end" At the very least, put it in the concept demo area!

Damn, you're right. :S I feel really stupid now. Avoiding the money saves 115 frames. I'll try to edit this in, but I'll have to redo a few levels anyway... I'll let you all know later how it works out, but it's likely that I'll ask Bisqwit to update the movie file. Thanks for telling me about this, Shingen. :)'
I frequently play the arcade version in MAME, this is one of my "guilty pleasure" games. Too bad the warps don't exist in the arcade version.

The falling money is not caused by the Sumo, it was because you beat the level by launching one snowball. Try it - Edit in a second snowball launch and you'll remove the money falling. Probably won't save a whole lot of frames... this is the only reason why I voted "meh" instead of "Yes".

Playing this game as fast as possible is not fun to watch. A slower movie which is more fun to watch is better.

I have not yet voted. I am leaning VERY close to "meh" right now. As an Outrun fan, I'd have to grumble that you didn't pick Magical Sound Shower. But if I put myself in the shoes of someone who is NOT an Outrun fan, you see a car drifting left and right making a near constant skidding sound for 4 and a half minutes. It doesn't seem very entertaining to me.

The reason behind collecting the gems? There's this red knight at the end of every level. The instruction manual says you can fight him to leave*, but it's easier to just gather gems to bribe him. *I've spent HOURS trying to beat that knight, and it just doesn't seem to get you anywhere. /yesvote btw

Ridley fights? Sorry, all I saw was a blur of missiles and something that looked like Ridley.

I vote meh. It was a good run, but I found myself reaching for the fast forward key a few too many times. 100 levels of this game drags on for me. I cannot ignore that it's well played, I cannot ignore that there are no wasted moves, so it's not "no". *snip*

There's no end credits. You find a note in one of the wells, and when you examine it, it's the credits. My vote was about 75% yes, and 25% meh.

Because someone didn't read the rule about "no cheats", and didn't understand that you should not use a password unless it's a proof of concept video, which this does not even claim to be.

My opinion of what the screenshot should be: "What, you're going to fight against me? You damn fool."

I see that at work a lot. Only, without the extra text after "blocked by SurfControl" underneath. I tried this a while back and got like 1800 or so, but that's because I went back and redid the ones that nitpick over spelling (and the ones I genuinely got wrong I just keyboard mashed)

Names aside, the fact that he said it could be improved aside, this wasn't too fun to watch.

I think a better comparison here is that this movie is slower than the 0% movie by about 15 minutes. Which isn't a whole lot, going from 0% to 100% item collection. Voted yes, because I would have expected a 100% run to be almost twice the length of the 0% one - very good planning.

Is this an improvement over the existing run? Yes. Will this obsolete a Famtasia run? Yes. Did this entertain me more than the existing run? No. I voted no for the same reasons mentioned above. Boss fights were just hit hit hit wait hit hit hit wait. Edit: If the existing video wasn't a star-quality video, I would have voted yes. This is not a star-quality video.

Voted yes, hope this becomes an "approved hack".
