Well, I just ran my last WIP on the latest version of Hourglass. And to my suprise, it syncs! The only problem was that the sound effects got removed for a while. They returned a while before the end of the WIP though. Commensing resume on this project!...unless people ask me to do another game. >_>

Alright, now for my real comments. This is certaintly one of the best TASes ive seen in a while. The amount of skillshots done with each of the weapons is astonishing. I also like the little attention to detail in entertainment that you do. That really adds to the movie! The only thing I didnt like are the missed fireball shots you occasionally do. Sure its a very odd nitpick, but given the amount of precision that you have on the bossfights, this just sorta struck out as odd for me. So heres a Yes Vote for the greatest TASer in existence. Congratulations nitsuja! One other thing. Is Hourglass r77 stable enough to do other PC TASes now? I was kinda hoping I could get back to Lyle in Cube Sector. ----- On the subject of branches & goals, I think that the "best ending" should be removed and have this be the main branch. Any other branch would just be this run without the last 18-20 minutes. So I dont really see the point in having another TAS that is claiming to be different when it would be almost identical to this one.

Does this mean that nitsuja is back into the TASing buisness? Because this TAS certaintly was awesome.

Woah. Sub-18?! You truly outdone yourself x2poet. The action seems to come in rather late in this one than the other ones. But when it comes, It is a hell house of insanity & mayhem. For that, I vote an extremely strong Yes! Congratulations on finishing ALL the Neo-Geo Metal Slugs x2poet!

This is a pretty good run here. The action is fast & the manipulation is tight. However, I feel like that this game could benefit well with 2-players on screen instead of 1. In the run, I can see some enemies right in the open that could have been taken down with another player while Guy was busy beating down his aleady occupied foes. Just a little setback, but given how hard it is to do 2-player movies, its probably something that shouldnt be taken into consideration for this specific movie. Overall, Im voting a weak Yes. I think that this run is certaintly publish-worthy even though it doesnt do 2-players like people would have preffered. But the fast brawling makes up for it.

Woah, That was a quick improvement. This is an incredibly fast paced & optimized run. I noticed that 5-1 is also improved with the slash-climbing. Neato! You certaintly get my Yes vote now khvuser. Fantastic job.

[Also, since this got published before my team finished our new run, should we keep going (~40 second improvement, I predict, that will be done in a few days), or should we start completely over (~2 minute improvement that will not be done for a while)?
I would vote to start over so that you can make that gigantic improvement.

Oh wow. Wasnt expecting this. However, I am a bit skeptical since the rerecord count seems quite low for a game like this. I'll still take a quick look.

I did a quick section of the first level. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/109401465/Alien%20Storm%20TAS.gmv This is bascially what a TAS of this would look like.

It worths mention that the game has MANY emulator issues, which won't be fixed in the near future, therefore I don't motivate you to improve it, unless you are good at vomitting.
There are emulation issues with this game? Funny, I didnt even see any. On the side of this run, AWESOME. Its nice to see the 2005 movie finally being obsoleted. Incredibly entertaining run, and never got bored throughout the run. Heres a big Yes vote, however there may still be improvements in the run. But given how painful it is to TAS this game, this is good enough.

Im thinking about doing a 2p TAS of this. However, Im having a bit of trouble finding the HP Addresses for the bosses since they change between playable characters. Any help would be appreciated. This is gonna be a short TAS so theres not much to worry about.

So is anybody willing to do a true 100% run of this?

In my honest opinion, this is a better goal than the "in bounds" movie because unlike that movie, this one actually followed its objectives. Theres also the bonus this movie has as actually getting 100% of a certain item. As such, This gets my Yes vote. However, Any future 100% run that collects more than all the furniture should obsolete this run due to the goals being less arbitrary.

I also don't want this run obsolete the warped one, just as the 18:41.7 warpless run can't obsolete the 4:57.31 warped run.
...Thats not the same thing. Anyways, I'll keep my head out of this debate. I wouldnt mind having both walkathons up, but the site might be to cluttered with more arbritrary goals in the future if things like this happens.

If he was ahead, then maybe he could just redo a section of the run to include the warp & then just paste it back into the movie.

This looks to be ~2 minutes slower than this run.

Warp to 8-3 Enter the Options screen and switch the controls to A and C for Fire and B for Jump. Return to the title screen wait for the demos to begin. Watch the demos until you see an extremely dark level. The demo will run for a while and then pause. Press Start to unpause and enter the game. You will die and begin at the Volcano level. Keep spitting to light up the place, otherwise it will be totally dark.
So something like this? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/470137813/Toki%20-%20Going%20Ape%20Spit%20%28UE%29%20%5Bc%5D%5B%21%5D.gmv

Wow. This is a pretty tight run. All the movements looked precise & the weapon switching adds a whole lot more strategy to the run. I also liked how you used a different character in the latter part of the run. Good show. The only thing that bothered me in the run is that you dont seem to utilize all the resources to their fullest poteintal. Like how you ended up with 10 bombs in the end of Mission 3. Or how you had 5 extra bombs in Mission 4. It really felt like you could have used them all to make the run seem faster. Also, Its faster to jump on the second available frame instead of the first when starting a level. Just a little note when doing any Metal Slug game. In any case, this is a solid Yes vote. Its kinda a bummer to see this already done since I actually had intentions on doing this game though X). But its nice to see this run since ive quit TASing. Nice job for a first run mtvf1!

Awesome run. Everything looks much cleaner now and feels like it has much more style to it. Yes Vote!
