Hey guys, I'm back from my 3 weeks of torture! Now that I got actual footage of the glitch, I can investigate to see how I do it! If you want to help, here is the Dega file (Contains a more optimized start of Act 3!): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1308093914/Sonic%20Chaos%20100%25.mmv Wow, a lot seems to have happened in 3 weeks.

Yes, and even if I set the movie to "pal" before the movie starts, it changes back to NSTC again.
Did you start the movie then when it paused change it to PAL? Other than that, I dont know the problem.
yesl, I did
I dont know the problem then. But have a relief because I'm switching back to NTSC! Turns out NTSC was actually faster by 3 seconds.

Remember that PAL is 50 frames per second, where NTSC is 60, so depending on how long the speed calculation takes in NTSC, that "189 to 320 frames faster" may actually mean "exactly the same speed".
Well, it was 139 frames faster when Sonic touched the flagpole in PAL. Then it was 320 frames faster when the black screen first showed up after the tally screen. But Ill see later.

Zone 1 Done: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1057365955/Sonic%20Chaos%20100%25%20(PAL).mmv I couldn't get the trick to work, No matter how hard I tried.

Well in my confusion, I decided I would make 2 seperate runs. One on NTSC and one on PAL. New WIP on PAL: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/370981166/Sonic%20Chaos%20100%25%20(PAL).mmv The thing i'm worried about though is the speed calculation time. EDIT: Turns out, the speed calculation is faster in the PAL version making the PAL version from 189 to 320 frames faster!

On PAL mode?

There were no region lockouts between European master systems and US ones. So that PAL cart could (and would) play fine on a US master system, where it would run at 60FPS instead of 50.
So it's okay to run on US mode?

New WIP! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/699270055/Sonic%20Chaos%20100%25.mmv I'd think that since I collect 9 rings I would end up with 998, right? Nope! I end up with 908! Oh and a rolling-jump is faster than a roll into the goal. Enjoy. ;D Oh and I also just found this weird glitch at a boss! When I jump right before he does the running thing with the sparkles the screen doesnt scroll right. EDIT: I've been told that there was only a PAL version. Ill have to start all over!

Can you really get a bonus stage in electric egg? Besides that, cool route. you're going to "lose" just one act per zone
Yes, you actually can! The only one i'm not sure for is Turquoise Hill 1.What do you mean by "losing" one act per zone? EDIT: I'm switching Turquoise Hill 1 for Gigapolis 1. There is a HUGE pile of rings that will get me to the special stage faster!

I got a rough draft on Emerald collection! The stages are in order: -Turquoise Hill 1 -Gigapolis 2 -Sleeping Egg 2 -Aqua Planet 2 -Electric Egg 1 Remember this is a DRAFT! It's not the final route.

Everyone. Prepare for a massive post!

The speed bonus is related to your time and ring count in the following way: The speed displayed at the end of the level is in the form xyy km/h. x is based on your time: finish under 30 seconds and x=9, under 1:00, x=8, and so on. y is equivalent to (rings - 11) mod 100. In other words, if you finish a level with 20 rings, y will be 09, 43 rings and y will be 32, and 0 rings and y will be 89. So if you were aiming for a real time goal (not that I think this is an especially good goal in a Sonic game...) then the optimum amount of rings to complete a level with would be 11, for speed 900km/h (because you should be getting under 30 on every level).
So, this is what I am getting from you. The Speed Bonus is in this xyy format where x is time based like in Sonic 1-3 on Genesis and y is the number of rings minus 11. Thanks a LOT mike89. That was really helpful.

This is up to you, but all the Sonic movies on this site aim for in-game time rather than real time.
If I were to aim for in-game time, I would have to set it to PAL because the timer goes slower, but the overall movie would be much longer..

So, if you planning in getting best ending, are you already planning where are you going to get that 100 rings to enter the special stages, right?
I got 3 out of 5 stages planned to get the 100 rings. Turquoise Hill 1, Sleeping Egg 2, & Aqua Planet 2. Im looking at Game Gear maps for more places. If these maps are different in the Master System version tell me!

Well the time bonus has been replaced by this SPEED bonus. Not sure how this works though.

P.S. Game Gear version would probably be best..
Actually Game Gear would be much slower because of the SEGA screen. Other than that, everything is the same. So, This what I have: -Best Ending -Master System version -Using Sonic -Real-time Am I all set?

I got 0:13 probably because I'm using NTSC mode. I'll switch to Game Gear & see about Sonic Triple Trouble.

I download it, put in My Computer, then try to unzip it but then the window freezes up. Wait...wait. That problem is fixed, but the real problem is that Dega just runs so SLOW! Although I can mind that it should get fixed a bit. Anyways now comes the real start! Test: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/254691509/Sonic%20Chaos%20(UE)%20%5B!%5D.mmv The link thing was broken so copy and paste. This was just to get a handle of Dega. Any suggestions?
