The list has too many 2D platformers/2D action games and maybe too many long movies. I understand that the 2D games may be where lots of technical tricks can be done but as an 'outsider', it just seems a bit repetitive and a newcomer may feel that these kinds of games are all the site offers. Yes, MM has completely different tricks than Sonic or Castlevania but having more games of completely different genres or styles would show more diversity and get folk more excited. I would suggest dropping a couple of the 2D action-platformers for Mario 64 and King's Bounty.
Thats basically what I was talking about for the authors. If we had more author-diversity, It would show not only great TASes to recommend to first time users, but it would also show that any genuine person could make an amazing TAS if they tried. However, I do see what you mean by more genre-diversity. Its just a shame that most proposed TASes to be starred are commonly platformers. Thats not really a bad thing but its someeting that could probably be improved on. And on that note: [1833] MSX Knightmare 2: The Maze of Galious by zggzdydp & scrimpeh in 25:04.67 This is probably the best that we have for the MSX as of now. It has a fast pace, neat TAS tricks, great item usage & amazing planning of a very well known game.

I have a little problem. Before the tunnel with the sponges, I am 4 frames ahead. But after I get through, I end up being 8 frames behind. Is there an explination for this? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1888213072/Sonic%20the%20Hedgehog%20TAS.gmv

I'm sorry. But, it's too late for this... A jump advances the RNG. So sometimes there are cases that short jumps are necessary. Almost they have no special meaning.
Ah, I understand now. Oh well. Great run so far!

For those wondering, I saved 3 frames on Labyrinth 1 so far. Its just taking me a while since FuzZerd did a very good job at optimizing. EDIT: Progress Here it is! The platforming section is hard to do without losing time, so its gonna take a while.

You should have used the J ROM for faster texts. (mod edit: obnoxiously large image removed) Just kidding. The TAS is amazing! Not really TAS of the Year material but definitely N64 TAS of the Year for me! Yes Vote & Congratulations on finishing MrGrunz!

A good improvement, but there are some serious problems with the idling times in terms of entertainment. Voting Meh.

Shazoo. Heres my attempt at the river level. I couldnt jump on the logs all that much because it would force me to go the opposite direction when jumping.

I realize that there are some IGS games that are supported on FBA. I think that these could make for some pretty entertaining movies.

Welp, I finished watching this! Heres my evaluation on the movie. Green Grove 1 - While this was plentiful fast, This appears to be one second slower than the current record by Comicalflop. Otherwise, great job! I can see you really have improved. Green Grove 2 - Very nice badnick & monitor bouncing! I am also quite impressed with the slope jumping as well as the spindashing. Green Grove 3 - The TSC time is one second faster than you here. But since that was done on the PC version, this gets a pass. Rusty Ruins 1 - Seems much faster than the TSC record. No complaints here. Rusty Ruins 2 - Seems like you could have bounced off some slopes insead of slowing down to turn. Rusty Ruins 3 - Instead of waiting for the claw to fall down, you could have just taken damage from it & land inside the helm where Robotnick would be. From there, you would land on the claw again and just keep on jumping to hit him. See this video for refference. Spring Stadium 1 - I think that if you utilize the bumpers a bit, you could save some time. Its still pretty impressive, especially the balloon bouncing. Spring Stadium 2 - You missed the badnick at the beggining from that big jump. But otherwise, this is a great level. Spring Stadium 3 - It is possible to hit him in the air when you are on the bottom. This should save you some seconds. Diamond Dust 1 - Very solid level! Didnt see any huge improvments here. Diamond Dust 2 - Didnt see any probelms here either. Maybe some frames could be saved with better velocity control, but theres not much I could really comment here. Diamond Dust 3 - Looks perfect. Ties the TSC time too. Nice job! Volcanic Valley 1 - Absolutely nice. Lived the way you handled the lifts. Volcanic Valley 2 - Nice job maintaining the speed with the speed shoes. Really liked how you took those corners. Volcanic Valley 3 - If you let go of the D-Pad when you bouce off robotnick, you stop earlier in the air. This saves some seconds. Gene Gadget 1 - Some minor speed management could maybe save some frames or seconds. Great level though. Gene Gadget 2 - Same as Act 1 Gene Gadget 3 - Try to hit robotnick faster and you'll get 1:13 here. Panic Puppet 1 - Some speed management could save some time here. I saw you bump into walls several times, losing your speed. Panic Puppet 2 - Very nice work here. Panic Puppet 3 - PC version strikes again. So you luck out. Overall, I think this is very publishable. Some minor improvements could be made in the future, but consider this a very strong Yes Vote Master of Pigs! You'ce vastly improved since your first submission and I think it clearly shows.
