What you just did is take it from Read+Write mode and put it on Read Only. Look at what you did carefully > Uncheck Open Read Only - Now in Read + Write Mode > Shift + 8 - Now you have reverted it back to Read Only

What do you mean by saying the level RNG is pointless? Does the game only randomize the order in which you encounter the levels, or something like that? Also, I thought the video was entertaining. Watching the levels which required pressing buttons in the correct order end nigh-instantly was funny, and the more complex levels were interesting as well, especially when comparing your time to the "qualify" time on the more timing-based levels.
When loading up a level you have the ability to loose frames to get the best possible outcome of that level. I have checked between my "Maximum Score" run with different loadings (Now this only happened recently). There was a result. (This was based on the same level) When the level was loaded up with the best RNG it had a very fast time, however I had to wait a couple of frames... I reloaded the level and went straight in, the time was worse but the level was one frame faster to the RNG one. (It was counted from Black, Game name, How to, Gameplay, Black)

Glitchy: yes boring: yes innovative: idk vote: no Now. Lets. Talk. In. That. Very. Slow. Voice. Sorry that's what killed it for me, the loading and how long I had to sit, comparison to the snes Family Feud that was short, and (somewhat) funny.

I don't agree. As Patashu said, the TAS is probably only slower due to some new trick or glitch, not because it's less optimized than the realtime run. There are probably quite a few runs with known improvements. I don't see why games that 1) happen to have known improvements that are executable in realtime runs, 2) happen to have an SDA run that incorporates this known improvement and 3) where this particular improvement accounts for some arbitrary time difference should be singled out. A general page where known improvements can be looked up per game might not be a bad idea.
The thing is some games, the judges never actually take any time to research. eg Crash 2 (because that's the easiest example.) the fastest method was founded before the tas was even started and mukki went with sliding without the spinning. Crash 1 however the fastest movement (Spin + Jump + Wiggle) was only founded about 2 years ago.

SoulCal makes comments on his own run, another tas also does this... another few. These tas runs are on their own account (depending on the game) So it should be allowed to let SoulCal have his run only his account since comments were made. (There was an SNES rpg, Cave Story, PS game another game... etc.)

I know PeteThePlayer (PAL, 44:44) is faster than Mukki's run of Crash 2 any% since more glitches are used... AND SLIDE SPIN IS USED! (Seriously why did you accept that run without not knowing slide spin (no offense to mukki at all)) ZtarZtorm used NTSC and didn't use all the methods (death abusing) but got 47:44... if he practiced more he would easily beat the tas time. (Fastest no death abuse is 47:07 PAL ElectronAvenue) Edit: Spyro, Crash & Ape Escape Leader Boards. is where you can look at these times + videos.

Pirohiko you have done amazing work on this project of yours... I'll avoid mentioning the last 4 updates. Anyways... Question: Now you don't have to answer this one because it's well practically finished. Will you be adding extra input at the end to show off the final glitch, or are you just going to have it as a final spin? Anyways this was amazing to watch.

As it says in the previous submission for this game, Easy difficulty is actually more difficult for TASing. That doesn't bode well for this submission.
Wait, so does this make it Easy as in Hard or Hard as in Easy?

This would end up in a video like Goldeneye where you see the player looking on the floor most of the time. I do not want to discuss if this is more or less entertaining but speed is the ultimate goal of a TAS but not for our videos. In case of Goldeneye we would not care about lags when watching straight ahead or strafing the whole time because it is faster. That was what I wanted to say by 'playing the game as it was meant to be.'
Firstly that didn't answer my question you just made another game which you don't have to look at the ground instead show the environment of everyone shooting at you (Think of that GC 007 tas).. I even stated something that no-one noticed and 2 different games which show the entire environment so the answer you gave me is flawed. Secondly it doesn't matter that you're not LPG.org (not the actual link to them so don't bother copying it) you still actually doing the exact same thing as him, which goes off the rules (to an extent). Edit: Thirdly I wish you luck on what you guys do... but you better do it fully and judge as critically as you can. Edit 2: Also edit what you wrote about Klonoa that ain't 100% like the video wrote it's really All Villagers Rescued (That's if this forum lasts a bit longer)

Perhaps you might take a look at our movies to see the differences to a longplay. You can compare our Zelda SNES video with an actual longplay for an example. Not to say our movie is better but it demonstrates the gap between a longplay and a TFP.
I watched Klonoa instead... 2 things for improvement, jumping is faster (Get a ram watch it's specific numbers) and where is the bonus stage? Point Blank DS the comparing stage you didn't hit a banana that landed upsidedown compared to the one that landed right side up. If you say you're a TFP going for awesome completion in a short amount of time wouldn't you notice the minor bits that need to be faster? Edit: And what jlun wrote... twice Edit 2: And when you guys finally do Crash 1 you better include the 2 major glitches to get 2 gems early.

Hi, we made a new site which might be interesting for some here because we make tool-assisted movies but no speedruns. We thought about possibilities to make gameplay interesting in a different way and with a different goal than speed only.
LongPlays actually has done this. (Sorry I mentioned this, but I had to mention someone who does it already) They have used all the current tas emulators and bizhawk... So it really isn't something new, also they also do it as half tas and half actually time consuming longplays to 100% Yes there is some games where they only complete it any% which isn't full but I can say they will be having 100% updates on those games.
