I didn't read the description and this is the result :( The Deku Tree predicted my every move :( I didn't know about the whole friction thingy the first time around. Reading through the last few pages of this thread has convinced me that what I did was wrong. Please just enjoy the run without criticizing it :)

Actually the author explained the deku stick thing is due to faster text making getting it slower. And I tried the Japanese version and the intro cannot be skipped as suspected. This puts the run at ~51:31 with intro and ~58 with the text difference. It is indeed slower.

I was told that you can skip the intro with the Japanese version.

Here's his profile: http://www.nicovideo.jp/user/5441932/ It says "Yutaka" in his mylist. No other TAS vids under his profile (premium acct), and all his other vids just scream nico'er. He doesn't seem to belong to #TASers either. I am guessing this is the only TAS he has ever done. his email: vega34@gmail.com Edit: I forgot to mention that you can turn the flowing comments off by clicking on the [...] button.

Hi, everyone, I've been trying to recall this FC game's name for the past year; it's driving me mad :( - side-scroller - you start with one guy going around rescuing your teammate (they are in "rooms in the background") - you can switch to and use the teammates too once you get them (they each comes with a different weapon) - there's this one guy with a gun that comes in really handy I am pretty sure (75%) it was on Famicom since I distinctively remember that red and white Edit: I just found the answer myself :D It's Lupin III. Yes I know it's different from the description I gave. Twenty years is a long time.
