oh. regardless, that tas is incredibly unoptimized because of the diagonal movement.

is there any reason why you use diagonal movement for most of the run? it's quite significantly faster to be moving up/down/left/right at all times instead of on diagonals. if you're just finding out about this then i'm sorry...

i think that even beyond the tricks, glitches, mechanics, routes and all that stuff it’s absolutely critical that you figure out how you’re going to be approaching this. metroid prime is an extremely complex game and you’re taking on a very daunting task here. you can sit there all day long researching all this stuff, digging through threads, testing tricks, learning about glitches and still fail miserably 5 rooms in. i think that it would be a good idea to tas random rooms/sections that are done in an any% run, then compare them to an optimized console run to see if you can at least beat them. this will give you a lot of perspective in terms of how to optimize your movement. at the very least, for the love of god don’t start tasing this game from the frigate because you’ll get absolutely nowhere. i don’t expect anything from anyone claiming to be working on a tas of this game but good luck.

I remember sparky mentioning about doing ibbf via tallon overworld. The route after the frigate would be missiles -> morph ball -> ibbf via tallon -> morph ball bombs -> charge. The main problem is that when going to ice beam, after reaching chozo ruins, it was claimed to be impossible to enter the morphball tunnel wihout bombs in the save room. Apparently this saves a lot of time, and a tas may be able to get into that morphball tunnel.

I want to see how fast you can get all 30 ship parts. I've seen it done in 9 game days on SDA. Could it be done any faster?
I'm sure it's possible to finish in 8 or even 7 days if a good enough route is used. A one day completion of either distant spring or forest navel seems fairly likely. Also, if my testing is correct, it appears that it is slower to walk diagonally instead of completely staight forward. At least this appears to be the case in Pikmin for GC.
