I really hope they improve the balance in the next one... there were a couple of great characters and the rest were junk.

gack... you'd have to build an emulator, that emulated an entire PC. The savestates would be enormous!

Does picking up 2 Rapid upgrades for each guy really make a difference? I never noticed that over all these years.

The last boss fight in Contra 3, where they just lie down in front off the boss, completely ignoring the huge flipping things that should be crushing them. I honestly thought this place was B.S. the first time I saw that. I had to download the emulator and rom and watch it frame by frame to prove that it wasn't cheated. Still not really sure why that works.

The one exception to that I've seen (seen? heard?) is in Half-Life 2, if you launch a rollermine into the water, the sound of the explosion seems to be delayed. Also, I've got another one for you- why is it, if your gun holds, say, 30 rounds, whenever you replace the magazine, you always top out at 30 rounds? What if you reload before you empty the magazine? What happens to the bullet still in the chamber?

Get yourself some Prilosec. I've been on it since 1999 and it completely eliminates any symptoms for me.

so I started my first TAS on this, WIP can be found here. Haven't really planned anything out yet, basically just getting used to the tools. Feel free to fire away.

well, for every frame, there's 2^8 input possibilities, or 256. If you take a video that's 10 minutes long, that's 60fps * 600 sec = 36000 frames, giving you a total number of 9,216,000 different movie possibilities. If you can cull the amount of control input, say, no up+down; or if you give it instructions to watch for certain RAM values- no death, don't pick up a certain item; you could reduce that number to something more manageable.

Friend of mine used AVG and hated it... I find Avast to be a perfectly acceptable solution.

well... would using hi-res textures ingame, affect video size post-encoding? Once it's been output by the emulator, the only things that determine size are resolution and compression.

I believe we had 4 runs of Battletoads at one point. 1p-warps 1p-warpless 2p-warps 2p-warpless

assuming you can keep stringing together a combo with manuals, you can effectively go indefinitely... I've seen realtime videos (not TAS) running into 8-digit scores and lasting four or five minutes because it's all one combo, sort of like the Tetrisphere video.

well, we can just assume that it takes a lot of rerecords to find the quickest way to do something, and not quite so many to refine it.

It could be interesting to see someone destroy Turok 2... I just remember spending hours running around some of the levels and not finding ANY of the objectives, plus the addition of headshots would make combat pretty quick.

You might be better off showing the Mega Man multiruns in slow motion, just to emphasize what's going on.
