Since my suggestion for a trick after you beat a boss wasn't included last time *sob sob* perhaps you can put it in now? Good luck with it in any case.

>Sorry, I can't understand this sentence; If you are running you slow down when you land. But if you are in ball form you do not slow down when you land, is that correct? That's what he said, at least. I don't know this game good, so I can't tell.

Thanks for the (.) tip and the answers. >Nevertheless thanks a lot for your comments, it never hurts to think about certain passages again, I might always overlook some possible improvements A polite way of saying "thank you for wasting my time"? :)

>Ok, I'll try to jump or walk-down.(case by case, isn't it?) Yes. Probably it depends on what is below. So you will have to test which is faster case by case. My guess is that jumping is faster in most cases though. I really hope you will make a new video.

Which button turn on the frame position? That would help a lot, now I'll have to explain it. In ghost house, you enter the first door only touching half of it. But the next door, you reach completely before you press up. Has it to do with the P-switch and the coins you need to take? In lava train level: Just after throwing the beetle you fly and land on a yellow pipe, but you lose a lot of speed. Can't it be done with spin flying instead? The place which you had problems with, the lava hill... if it's not possible to fly over it completely, couldn't you start flying halfway through it? Now it looks like you do a regular running jump, which is slower. You were able to work up the speed to fly on a previous raft, but perhaps it's not possible when the raft is tilted like that... Castle: I don't understand your You seem to lose your speed after the P-switch, is this unavoidable? I liked the playing around with the moving floor, much better than just standing around looking stupid.

Didn't Phil use a patched version of FCEU for SMB? I think I read he pressed left+right in that video. Just ask him to send it and you'll be all set.

Nice to hear! I haven't watched it yet but I will when I get home. Are you going to submit this version or are you going to start with a glitched newer version at once?

Wow, this game is... bad. I thought I was playing a Master System game the first time I tried this. I can see why they switched to Sonic.

>First of all, just flying over the long lava pool with the cape is not possible, the last hill is just too high Thoroughly uninformed and stupid suggestion (I haven't even watched the new vid): If there's a way to get out of the flying animation, perhaps you could wall-jump the hill? I have no idea how the landscape looks here, but anyway.

Highness: >I ment if you could place the powerbomb as soon as you enter the room. Like switch to powerbomb while jumping in the other room -> Mockball -> continue to roll to the left -> As soon as possible, place the power bomb and roll to the hole in the floor. Depends... if Samus travels faster than the powerbomb explosion, it's better to place the bomb as late as possible. If it's impossible to not lose speed, you should place it when you no longer travel faster than the explosion. (There's a delay too which makes things complicated.) Testing a few different frames is probably a good idea. >Seems like you slow down before you reach the hole. I know that the mpg file you made is just a showoff. Nothing finals yet eh? =) This doesn't matter. He still has to wait for the bomb to clear the way. If he gets there faster, it just means he has to wait longer. >Also you could combine it to what you other guys are talking about. To jump while the bomb explodes to be falling faster down the hole in the floor. Good idea. Jump before the bomb destroys the blocks, and reach them when they disappear so you have more vertical speed.

Terimakasih's words translated wrote:
If i remember correctly, if you perform a high jump, the fall speed increases. However, there are two problems with this, I think: 1: distance Compare the red and the orange paths. The orange line is long, in other words, the distance I must move is long. Therefore, I would guess that it takes longer time. 2: the jump behaviour If/when Samus jumps, naturally, she comes to the highest position. (?) (After that, she drops down.) If you happen to make a high jump, the time that she remains in the air is long, I think. Therefore, I would guess that it takes longer time.
My thoughts: If the horizontal speed is the same for walking and running, you will get to the edge of the platform at the same time. But if you jumped, you would have more vertical speed and fall faster. In that case, jumping is better. The length of the path isn't important. If your horizontal speed is faster for walking than jumping, then walking is better. Attempt at picture:
If horizontal speed is equal:

           **
           **
w w w w w **
******** **
********w **
           **
       w **
           **
      w **

    j **
  j j **
j j **
******** **
******** **
        j **
           **
           **
       j **
Jump (j) gets to the goal in less turns (meaning: less time) than walking (w). But only if horizontal speed is equal for jumping and walking. If not you will have to test.

>If I jump higher , Yes, the down-speed will be faster. but , in this case , I think that Orange-Color-Line(or Purple-Line) is bad route. Because,,, sorry, I can't explain it in English; Try your best, or write it in simple Japanese and I can try to translate it for Mazzic. >I can't understand 'fiering',,, 「発する」ということだけど、彼が書き方を間違えた。「firing」は正しい。

言語の問題あれば、翻訳で助ける。このサイトに日本語ができる人が4、5人いる。頼んでばかり。(この最後の文の翻訳はちょっと可笑しくなったけど) If you get language problems, we can help with translation. There are 4 or 5 people who know Japanese on this site. Just ask.

I liked it. I somehow remember the boss throwing raspberries at you. Was that in NG1 too? I played that game like one time five years ago. I still haven't seen any falling behind walls and nearly dying when you beat the boss. Isn't that possible to incorporate somehow?

I watched the same video as you and I liked it a lot. But I don't think that's a good reason for accepting a run which breaks the rules, and he should redo it the proper way. It seems like most people do not agree with me, though.

>speed changing buttons don't work in scandinavian keyboards, frame advance button doesn't exist, file paths are handled in most ugly way and keys are not configurable (at least not without knowing how to hex-edit the binary-format configuration file). These limitations may or may not apply to the Windows version. They don't. Speed change and frame advance work on my scandinavian keyboard. Keys are configurable. I don't know about file paths, but I haven't had any problems. My guess would be: * For Windows, use FCEU (most people here do, largely because of the frame advance feature) * For Linux, use Famtasia (according to Bisqwit)

I haven't played this game and I'm insane enough to watch the time attack anyway. I vote for subtitles of any cool tricks or bugs happening. "Meeting whoever" isn't necessary.

>There's no randomness in these old games, only pseudo-randomness. There is in new games? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. There is no good method for generating random numbers in computers now either that I now of. One interesting try I saw was a computer with a digital camera watching a lava lamp. It then took some mathematical formula for certain pixels to generate the number. Not feasible in your average computer game though.
