>Get thousands of copies of the cartridge and port them all over to see which one has the best random selection seed (if it works that way at all). Games do not work this way.

My curiosity has been awakened. Tell me more. How, which bosses? Will everything but the first and last boss be cut out? Edit of insight: it has do with dying in the boss room as mentioned before, perhaps?

Hey Bisqwit. I saw you had thoughts about improving this run, so I thought I'd bring it up for discussion. What improvements are you thinking of making?

In terms of 1-2 frames, style. Noone will notice any difference. But then, 1-2 frames sounds like a serious understatement.

>I saw alot of jump that did not require the parachute. I think it would look more professional if the parachute was only used when it need to be. I, on the other hans saw a lot of jumps which didn't use the parachute, which looked like it could have been faster. Also, it looks like jumping on enemies slows you down, yet it seems like he's actually aiming for landing on the enemies. Some of the red diamonds looked like they could have been skipped to make the countdown at the end faster. Am I missing something? Frenom?

What other possible improvements do you have in mind?

If it's that certain that the US version would be faster, and it has pretty much the same content minus the load times, why wasn't it chosen instead?

So if you do an attempt, you'll have the speed cranked up to max the whole run then I hope. :) (BTW, I haven't played this version of Sim City, but I've played plenty of versions on PC.)

Can't you turn up the speed in this game somehow? You can in all the other SimCity games. A year doesn't have to take a long time.

Maybe all we need is a bad run accepted so someone can challenge it and make improvements. Seems to have worked in the past, at least.

I understand that. It's all pretty petty stuff, but I wanted to tell you anyway, in case you redo it. Oh, and with the ball, I though there was room where you first started, before you jumped up to the platform where the ball is.

The Ninja game could be Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master. It's hard and you can jump on walls. But the description could fit a lot of games. No clue on the other.

I get the same error as you. Either Bisqwit is shuffling things around the site again, in which case this will soon be fixed, or he will see this post, in which case it will probably also soon be fixed. :)

He didn't pick the middle rupee in the gambling every time. Possibly, but I'm not sure, he didn't switch weapons in advance at some point when he brought up the save and restart menu, forcing him to bring up the menu again later. That's all I remember.

Some comments on the new run: 2:55 - seems like you could have dropped down sooner and moved right in the air. no forward movement on drop at 3:05 either. 5:09 you land to the left of a barrel, to jump up on it the second after. Why not land on the barrel the first time? 6:11 you stop at one of those big balls. You cuold have done invisible tech earlier, just in the start, and you shouldn't have to wait. At 7:01 you stop your drop to walk right, but you could have moved right in the air instead. 7:11 another drop without horizontal movement. On fourth boss, the first small robot dies faster than the second. It's very obvious because the second actually has time to fire once. It should be possible to do it as fast as the first. Do the robot shots hurt while invisible? If not you could do invis tech before the third and not have to duck once. You (again) do the ninjas differently the first time from the rematch. One of the ways should be faster. Well, that's all. Hope I'm not being too hard on you. :)

Judging from the clips, this run will be completely awesome. I hope it gets out soon though while I have access to a computer.... :/ Any word on it?

I don't think anyone is on this one. Too bad, because it could be very interesting.

My so far only attempt at a run was only 15 minutes, but it took over a week to make. I must be horribly inefficient... Anyway, I never expected it to be this much faster. I was guessing about 10 seconds of improvement.

Wow. O_O That was one fast upgrade. Where do you find the time to do these?

You fall down a floor at the first red guy, which seems to cost you forward speed. Can't he be jumped over like the rest? Can't you move right during the fall trough the shaft at 1:01? It looks like you are moving right when you fall trough the other shafts. Same at 5:19. At 1:23, it looks like you jump to the left and then the right for no reason, when you could have gone straight up. Why did you delay doing shadow tech at Tiny? Can it be done in advance? At the second boss you use both knives and shuriken. If one is faster it should be faster all the time. The knives are at least twice as powerful as the stars, but I don't know about firing rate. Second time (at rematch) you seem to do more knives. Also at the second boss, you do nothing while approaching them. Why not some tech or at least jump+shoot? At 5:21, wouldn't it be faster to jump up one floor before the gap (assuming you can make that gap in one jump)? Third boss seems quite suboptimal. You duck and pause shooting, knives would probably be faster. If you are not averse to taking damage, you could take one hit to get inside him and start knifing. Another option would be using some tech (fire wheel?). No knives at fourth boss either... I assume the elevator doesn't go any faster because you kill the guards quicker, other than the last guard, which you seemed to nail as soon as he appeared every time. You seemed to stop momentarily before shooting the final boss the last time. It looked like the last shot would have hit earlier if you walked towards him instead. That's all I can think of. Thoughts?

That was fast. I thought it would take more time. I haven't watched it yet (because there are 27 downloaders and 1/2 seed, what's up with that?), but when I do I'll post any comments here.

Almost always movies are obsoleted by being slower than a new version, but sometimes not if they're not as entertaining to watch. I don't have any examples at the moment. In the end, it's up to Bisqwit (the site owner) and whoever he appoints as movie judge which movies make it. >Are you ever challenged by people for calling these "movies"? Not for calling them movies, but for ruining competitive gaming, yeah. (Since movies made with tools naturally are faster than regular speed runs.) Some of them are very hateful and get personal. Most people aren't like that though. We have plenty of people here who do both tool-assisted movies and regular speed runs. I do hope that you are planning to write how these movies are made...?
