Finally finished, only a couple of weeks too late. Time for red ball is 3:03:46. Get it here: http://133an.sytes.net/~truncated/castle.gmv (same link as last time) There's probably a few frames to squeeze out of the very first screen, and possibly from the boss. I'm not very happy with the scene with the big swinging blades either, but I'm not about to redo it. I've seen the run desync at the bone worm, that is, I miss and don't kill it... but he misses me too and the run carries on fine anyway. o_O The crystals don't take any time to count down, and you keep them for next level, so it's a good idea to get as many as possible all the time. Level 2 boss can be done a lot faster if you have enough crystals. If anyone wants to continue this, talk to me. Other opinions are also welcome.

Uh, I was sort of surprised to see that someone voted Meh for this movie. Then I realized it was probably me who clicked awry. :( Sorry. So, mentally disregard one Meh and substitute it with a Yes. In any case, this movie is fantastic. [Edit by Bisqwit: I verified from database, it was indeed Truncated's. The Meh-vote was now changed to a Yes-vote.]

>Also, the Combatribes movie was published under a minute after it was submitted. >_> Which Phil was thoroughly scolded for, so there's no need to bring it up again.

>Does anyone here, besides me, know about the trick to skipping the Joker's henchmen and going straight to him at the end of 5-1? I know that you don't have to fight his henchman again if you won against him and then died at the Joker. I think it works that way even if you use a continue. If that's not it, tell us more about how it works.

Hm. You say that warping gives you all weapons. Why then did you play two levels to get the axe, when you get it anyway? You have enough potions for the warp anyway. Is the time offset in beating the octupus with the axe enough to justify a complete extra level? Or do you really need that extra clear potion from the first level? EDIT: Another thing, against the fire boss around 7:55, can you not jump towards him when he comes in to hit him sooner?

His name is Link? What an insult to other video game characters named Link. Well then, I hope this is the last time that I ever feel forced to vote yes for a run of this hilariously bad game.

Loved the juggling. The water level was boring, but that's forgiveable. Most of the time you actually managed to make the autoscrollers worth watching! Yessified.

At the risk of seeing yet another submission for this terrible game... ... couldn't you stop-walk at 38:00 instead of jumping?

Summed up: It's okay if Viper and flagitious say it's ok. It's not okay if you haven't asked them.

>First off. I don't recon this game being an auto-scroller. Me neither, when I said "the autoscrollers" I meant the "autoscrolling levels". Sorry if that wasn't obvious. Any other opinions on this submission?

Bumping this so that people can read the new text in the submission. Need some help on this one.

I hoping that someone will have the guts to make a full movie too. But that's going to be lots and lots of work... well, there is a speed run for reference at least.

No one wins. His run wasn't on expert and mine didn't finish the first level, so no movies following the rules were submitted. Walk over, I would call it.

I'm starting to realize that I probably won't be able to finish this before the time limit runs out... or if I do it would be very close, late saturday. So I'm uploading my run when I get home for anyone to continue or just steal the tricks from. (But it doesn't seem like anyone else is working on this - no?) I'm up to the big swinging blade and I think I'm about 3 seconds ahead of JXQ (adding on time for going into the options menu). EDIT: Well, interest seems to be limited, but here is my partial run at least: http://133an.sytes.net/~truncated/castle.gmv Do with it what thou wilst.

I think he's saying: You can get extra height by using more than one Item 1. If you have ammo left, you might be able to find places where using it can gain time. It's anyone's guess though.

Wow, nice initiative there. :) With all the new submissions for unknown and generally uninteresting games, I think bringing up some old ones a few notches is a very good idea. Bisqwit is (was?) working on improving his Solomon's key movie, but the new one will be 100%. Don't know if that qualifies for the list. The movie that irks me the most is probably Icarus 100%, since it doesn't even get the best ending. That should be obsoleted quickly or removed altogether...

No. An autoscoller (which this basically is, even though you can make it scroll at a different speed by holding right) needs something more than just get trough every level to make it interesting. Also, I very much trust Highness' when it comes to this game. I could tell there was a lot of lag and you had surplus health at pretty much every level.

I was going to reject this, but now it seems like my powers to do that have vanished. I can still edit the submission text but not set a new status. Guessing this is part of upgrading. Help?

You've said that several times already. :P I think we can stick with this one until you actually produce a faster one. Until that happens this is accepted and awaiting encoding.

I have no idea about how to proceed, because I never got anywhere in this game... ... but seeing this game again it just HAS to be the work of the same people who did X-Men 2. I didn't see any company listed for X-Men2 except for Sega of America, though...
