You can access the pizza mission before the doctor connor mission starts. It may save you some backtracking. Also while ascending walls, like in the tutorial section, it may be faster to continuously jump then sprint up the wall. That way you will have full sprint speed... I may be wrong and jumping might be faster. I've never tested it.

Here is another trick that will save some time in 8-3 during the Dimentio chase. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGIb-d-rHsw If you guys plan on picking up some mighty tonics for double damage, the Pigarithms in 8-1 drop mighty tonics that could be used for some of the final fights. Maybe you could manipulate all 3 Pigs to drop a tonic if that is possible.

I mangaed to get up to the end of 7-3 without Peach via Thudley jump. A has would use the Bowser+Carrie infinite jump since it's faster but the theory of Peach being in your party after 7-3 is wrong. I even completed chapter 7 and she still was not in my party. I'm going to test tonight if she shows up for the Mimi fight in 8-2 and see if the game does not crash. If it doesn't the skip would prove useful. Peach Skip EDIT: Peach is back in your party after the O'Chunks battle in 8-1. You can use her for the Mimi battle just like normal.

Does anyone know how much time it saves to skip getting Peach in 7-3? You would have to Thudley jump up from where that cloud is that you feed the red apple to. The thing is, if you don't get Peach the cloud does not spawn so you would have to Thudley jump up from the building. I've tried to get up there in real-time but haven't been able to do it yet. I got about 10 jumps and my guess is that you would need 15-20 more… Also after chapter 7-3, Peach will be in your party in 7-4.

Hey Malleoz, I found a small timesaver in chapter 3 for the Grubba bookcase trick. There is no need to to spin jump to get on top of the bookcase. The angle seems to be pretty precise since I have only gotten it once and it caught me off guard when I did get it.

Great work Malleo! Sounds like chapter 2 will be done in no time. :) I have a question regarding the Hooktail battle. How precise is it to get the 3 cycle on him? I have gotten 10 jumps on him before on console but it seems the timing for the 10th jump is really precise. I have yet to perform this sequence. I'm curious about the strategy used for the first two phases of the Shadow Queen battle you guys used in your last tas. This strategy below skips the shadow queen striking with both her hands but has an extra turn for Mario and his partner. I saw this in NamiNami's run and thought it might be a bit faster but I might be wrong. Final Boss: Shadow Queen

The timing for the hover across the platforms is pretty precise but I plan to use it in my segmented run I've been planning. You can hover both to the room with the key and on you way back. I'll make a video sometime next week. Also, if the tube strategy ends up being faster, you could apply it on the way back after exiting the bullet bill room. Btw, I'm really hyped for this new run! :)

I have a couple questions regarding the route in pirate's grotto. In the room that leads to the first grotto key with the small waterfall; it is possible to hover with Yoshi across the lowest ledge instead of jumping up the first two platforms then getting on Yoshi. (I hope you guys understand that description. I plan to make a video once my capture card comes in) Is this already known and has it been timed vs. jumping up the two ledges then getting on Yoshi? In the room after the spikes where you have to roll under them in tube mode, is it not faster to stay in tube mode and hop across the barrels and boat all the way up until you get the the wooden planks? I'm guessing it is faster to not stay in tube mode since you are using the speed glitch and tube mode has a set speed.

Fungi Forest Early K. Rool Early Hideout Helm Lobby Early In my K.Rool early video I captured keys 1,2,3,4,5, and 8. Right now we are trying to figure if key 4 really is needed. Manocheese over at SDA did a test run and captured keys 1,2,4,5 and 8....Only to figure out that the ship did not appear. He then grabbed key 3 and the ship appeared. So key 3 seems to be the trigger for the ship to appear right now. But now we need to test if key 4 is a trigger as well. If it is not then my Fungi Forest Early trick stands as useful and will shave some time. So some of these segments aren't final and we're still brainstorming with the rupee/pendant/triforce route. Any body else have some ideas or would like to help with the route? Enemy Supersliding can also be done with Bokoblins iirc. May work on other enemys too. IMO, granny's soup isn't really worth collecting at all. As Sparkle said it takes around a minute to collect and the only battles where the soup would really save time would be the hoarde in Hyrule Castle and the Savage Labyrinth. Using the soup glitch to refill magic takes around an unwanted 5 seconds while a small detour to some grass/pots/etc would only take 2 at the most. Sparkle also mentioned savewarping at sea to cut off some sailing time. I'll see if I could test that soon. The triforce pieces on the bottom of the Sea are set in different random locations. For example the one at Outset could be placed either on at the back or the front of the island. So optimizing segments is key here. Btw, the game sets the location when you open the charts. On another note a trick that could be tested right now is trying to skip the Mirror Shield mini boss battle. I've come very close on console to grabbing up to the ledge by simply gliding with the leaf from a coffin. Btw, you can only grab on to the ledge from the front of the platform. (the part of the ledge where the stairs would fall) So what do you think about the route?

The trick that wasn't included in my collection and I was able to record due to an autosave was in Crystal Caves. It's Chunky's banana inside theglass igloo near the music igloo. Basically jump out of the water and press B to due that flip move so you can clip through the igloo and get the banana. I did it right near the banana. And is it known that when you fight K. Rool, as Diddy you can shoot both targets from one side of the light?
