I think I need to redo it from the second round on the fourth level and then we'll see what happens and whether or not I need to redo it from somewhere else. Edit: I no longer get a desync on level four but I no longer can watch level five. In any case, I think I'll redo the end of level four as I was not satisfied with how long it took to do the fatality. One thing I noticed that stopped the desyncs, when watching it in Read-Only, is saving while it shows Shang Tsung climbing the tower (where it shows who I am going to fight next). Let me know if that is a hoax or not. Edit2: Well its not bullet proof and I still get desyncs on level four. On level three desyncs are still present but I haven't gotten one in a while so I am depicting whether or not to redo level three over again. Edit3: Because people get desyncs on level three I am no matter what going to redo it even if they don't get them now. I have come to this reason because I could do Reptile's fatality quicker and it seems you can't do his reptilian fatality while invisible, at least not in this version (prove me wrong). Edit4: I seem to be getting desyncs while I am creating this run! I'll be doing a combination to morph and it will work on this certain frame but sometimes when I reload and do it again exactly the same on the same frame it doesn't work!? This is getting weird. Nevermind it seems to only happen if I am using turbo and it misses a frame when it shouldn't. Edit5: I think I have found a way to work around desyncs. What I was doing before was watching it with read-only on and safely saving a state to continue off of. Well if instead I watch my movie without read-only on and make a save I am almost guaranteed no desync and should be able to complete this. By almost I mean there will probably be a desync here or there but before I post another WIP I'll have fixed it. Edit6: Okay here's another WIP: Does Desync and Doesn't Desync I revised it so that it won't desync until possibly level four but if it does just reload it and it will work eventually, hell it may even work on the first try.

I have decided to upload all the save states I have. They are pretty much each level and secret star so far: Super Mario 64 Save States They are compressed with .7z which is 7-zip's format, if you didn't know.

Well I think, if I am able to finish this run, I'll do two videos one that demonstrates everyone's fatality (of the better ones they hold) and glitched up fatalities. My problem is desync issues and if they persist I know this video will not be accepted. So let me know if this desyncs: MKII WIP 2 It should desync on the fourth level, first round or on the fifth level, second round.

Edit: Actually I think I'll do a straight forward run first just to get an idea of what can be done because I kind of don't feel like playing around I just want to finish this run with what we know now to maybe inspire other people to find even more interesting things. For some reason when I tried to do Reptile's Fatality it just plain wouldn't let me until I retransformed. Edit2: Even if I made a whole video I don't think it could hold out long enough before desyncing. What I have noticed that causes the desyncs is the loading of the next level some times is a couple frames off. I wonder if that is the only problem?

Have you ever played the New Super Mario Bros. ? It is quite difficult compared to the other ones with its speedy movements and how quick Mario gets to high speed. It can be very nerve racking.

It does desync but it also plays back fine too. I really don't understand why it does but give it a couple of tries. Edit: I might not consider this run since the desync issue is way out of hand as of now. Edit2: This game pissed me off because it would not playback right and now it does. What causes the randomness?! I might consider finishing up since it can be done. It just requires luck, that's all. Edit3: For those who are interested in seeing what I have done but cannot view the movie without it desyncing horrible: MK II WIP - Up to the Fifth level

MKII WIP Thought I might as well post this since I am considering doing a run through playing as Shang Tsung doing, I guess, combos and everyone's fatality. I am up to the fourth level. Let me know what you think. Also it may desync if you speed through it so I would recommend not speeding through. Settings should already be put into place and also let me know if some other settings should be checked since I don't know what they may do to help.

I guess this is a waste of a topic because now I have set up my buttons differently and no longer even use the arrow keys. Sorry to have wasted your time but if someone wants to put down what keyboard allows more input then go ahead, I'll probably check it out anyway.

Maybe a weird shaped keyboard where almost no keys line up with eachother on the board would work but there probably is no such thing. I am thinking of getting an USB keyboard to use the only problem is not knowing which one will be what I want. My biggest problem is the directional buttons (arrow keys) and I have used Auto-hold but I find it too tedious and more work than it has to be but I use it when it is a good time to. Also I do have a real computer it just happens to be in an inconvenient place, since most people want to use it, I am limited on how much I can do on it at a time. Well I guess all I can ask is if anyone knows of a keyboard that fits the criteria of being able to at least process more than one arrow key (up and right work but not up and left at the same time) at a time. That really is all I am looking into.

I know this has been discussed before somewhere but no one has given an answer to this. Is there a way to allow more keys to pressed down without having to conform to using a Gamepad? I think at the most three can be pressed down if you press the right combination. Sure, I could rearrange my keyboard keys the only problem is that I'm using a notebook PC, a rather small one so I am limited already to what I can do. Is it the hardware's problem that it can't identify so many keys at once? Anyway, if anyone knows of a keyboard that can identify more than three keys at a time then please let me know, I'd be much more motivated to create movies. I bring this up because I do my movies mostly in frame advance and also I'm discussing this here because it regards to all emulators (not that they are the problem) and most anything else movie-making related. Thanks for any Acknowledgement.

That was fun to watch even as tedious as Sonic games can get from a spectator's point of view (not quite as sure for the player but I assume it feels good to know you get away with a lot going that quickly).

I have to say I absolutely hate that unlicensed piece of crap. Have you ever tried to play that one? or even play it on keyboard? Then again it has been a while (maybe 4 years or more) since I even tried it.

Fantastic, absolutely entertaining. That's all I can say because it left me speechless and you don't need my advice since you know exactly what you are doing for an excellent 2P run of a fun beat 'em up (damn ramblings of mine, oh well).

A real DIY-er when it comes down to what you do conceptively and musically. I have only listened to the first 2 tracks but I am impressed none the less because it's hard to find realness (by realness I mean one way or no way) from an artist. I don't really listen to Hip-Hop, in fact I listen to some so rarely that it must be forced upon me (someone else must be listening). Either way I think its damn good work.

Yes Vote. Looks good and different than the other one currently published and I also think that this one shouldn't obselete the current one (if it is published) since it's not the same strategy but I guess you couldn't say the same thing about other games' runs, could be quite a dilemma.

The "do_record" file must not have any extension on the end of it (it can't have .txt or anything else and you must use the file given on this website). Also bare in mind you must use the emulator hosted here but you probably already knew that. One other thing is the "boing.dll" must be in the same folder as the emulator as does the "do_record" file. If it still fails tell me all about it and I'll try to help you.

Yes Vote. Absolute fluency the way you utilize such shoddy gameplay and complete the game fully while staying entertaining.

No one has made a TAS of this game yet, they have only mentioned it.

That's a pretty nice WIP you have going there. I know you said that you may rework some of the stuff you have done already but either way keep up the good work.

I know some of the boss fights aren't as good as they could be since I learned that near the end of the game/my run but when I fought the 3 boss-clump, I fight the big red demon and it looks as though I do not hit it some times but I really did he just has an unbelievable amount of life and can take a couple of hits to lower it, if you don't believe me check it yourself. Edit: Also to note that when I fight most of the bosses I throw a boomerang on the last possible frame, at the start of the fight, in which strikes the boss to ensure that every attack is as fast as it can be allowing me to plow through them but I now know of better combinations that don't really affect this strategy.

yeah there are quite a few things that can be improved on this run and I know of most of them now. This run is mostly a backbone for an even better one to come and chances are if no one is interested I'll redo it in time.

I enjoyed watching this run. Yes, there are some flaws in it, but the creative route choices allows it to be entertaining. Flaws don't stick to my eye all the way in the run. Accepting the submission.

Another obseleted run, Great! I remember playing this game back in the day or at least watching my brother play it. Voted Yes, and the reason both controllers are used is they have the same assigned buttons or keys alike.
