well, since you posted in NES Games, you need FCEU (the modded version on this website) to playback those movie files, you really shouldn't have much trouble figuring it out but if you do just ask around.

Do you have the latest version of SNES9X supported at this site? If not then I beleive that is why all the avis you make are coming out like crap because the length is too long making the size too big and corrupting the files or something like that. Also it does matter what codec you use, try something lossless like huffyuv or techsmith. With the new version of SNES9X it automatically splits the files at the right byte size and leaves the video unharmed. Hope this helps.

Why not turn the blood on in the dipswitch menu of the emulator (does this emulator have a dipswitch menu?, it should, right?)? I dunno about anyone else but not having the violence for these game makes them seem more hollow. Other than that great job so far, very entertaining. One last thing, could someone reupload the first level, I missed out on that one.

I think to resolve your problem, if you haven't tried, is to maximize the window. I used to get many problems with Famtasia but now I no longer do. Resizing the window, that makes the program do that thing in which it finds the best draw method. That is normal and only takes about a minute. I don't really know how much you actually know about Famtasia so I thought maybe by accident I have been patronizing you, I apologize in advance. Anyway I hope that may help.

If I remember correctly, the address with you life bar is random everytime you die, hell maybe it changes on certain levels. It shifts around, so if you were to have some code on like infinite health and fell in a pit ultimately killing you, there was a very small chance of the code's effect lasting on you specifically. This really doesn't have any relevancy since there is no such TAS that allows cheat code usage on here and you probably won't have yourself killed unless it, in fact, saves time. But maybe if you were to find enemies' health codes then maybe there would be some use. I have take this information from the PSX version, from experience, but I am sure it is probably a direct port for/of the N64 version.

Hey thank you very much, I'm sure I am not the only one who can and will appreciate this.

Notice how much easier dumping avis on those other emulators because you do not have to redump every so often, all you have to do is set one and it will take care of the rest until the movie is at a certain point, usually at the end, and you stop it. The only thing about Famtasia is that it will dump avis right away with no trouble but I really don't care about that. Sorry if I appear to be rude and know that I am not impatient so whenever it is out is okay.

yeah, but most of the videos I want are multi-hours long and I am making high quality MPEG-4 videos to play them on my DVD player, if anyone wanted to know why. Besides, what is the point for other emulators to support this and not SNES9X? By lazy recording I used "lazy" to describe how much easier it is to record avis and up until now I have questioned why not this emulator too. Also, all I'm asking is for someone to consider this and not to feel obligated.

yes, but a little more lazy just like, for instance, FCEU. When the .avi file gets to about 1.96 GB it creates another one so that it doesn't corrupt and you don't have to. Before that you had to estimate when the video dump was about 1.96 GB and create another avi file.

Is anyone up to updating SNES9X so that it is much like FCEU, Famtasia, and Gens in .avi dumping? If I had any programming experience I would but since I don't, I rely on programmers who are familiar with entering this code into SNES9X's source code. I think it would be cool to be a little more lazy when recording these videos. Any progress would be great.

Thanks for all of your support and I have found a system that should work for me and a codec that will help with FCEU's AVI recording. Now to just figure out what Famtasia's AVI recording problem is.

Whenever I record an AVI it corrupts at about 4.00 GB and is unusable. I have looked at your methods on how to record these videos to AVI but still I am having this problem. I am using Windows XP so if this is a factor then could someone point this out to me? One way I am able to record, but is so tedious, is in segments of about 2 minutes. What I really want, if there is a way, to just let it record the AVI from begining of the game to the end, being that I stop it at the end of course. Really I am having problems recording AVI with FCEU so any help is anything and everything I am asking for.
