So, here's something new--a multiplayer online game where you build structures and interact with other players...with LEGO! Finally, you can have enough blocks to really build the huge structures you always dreamed of...

I don't suppose anyone would want to do an "all Red Jewel" run?

...otherwise known as "Shin Nekketsu: Kouha Kunio-tachi no Banka", but that's a little wordy. This game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up, and contains a lot of non-skippable dialogue inbetween the fighting. The plot, for those who care, is that Kunio and Riki (Alex and Ryan) are accused of running down a girl on their motorcycle, and thrown into prison. After teaching the "boss" of cell 218 a painful lesson, they learn that there's someone who looks identical to Kunio running around on the outside, and that Nekketsu (River City) has been taken over by a local thug. And so, the violence continues... The movie runs up until after the boss at Nekketsu--because of all the dialogue, I wanted to see if this movie was interesting to anyone before continuing. The ROM used is "Shin Nekketsu Kouha Kunio tachi no Bannka (J)", and the movie is here. Edit: Now up to the boss battle at Hanazono High, with a demonstration of the new moves Kunio and Riki get after they get their uniforms back. Here it is.

Because if I didn't, I'm pretty sure I was randomly kicked off for no reason. And if I did, then you need to find a server with admins who aren't completely paranoid assholes.
So, you loudly object to the way enterthegame is treating you, it's obvious that at least a few other people are experiencing the same or similar problems, and then you gripe about the fact that the administrator is changing to another server? Please, please tell me that you know something about "freenode" that we should know about. ...and that insult was over the top, as well.

Nitsuja, I found out that your problems may have to do with your graphics driver; I've seen some complaints like yours in other places, and the suggestion was to rollback to a previous driver, if that's possible.

I was thinking along the same lines, but the game would be really boring and slow, for the most part. I mean, for most of the game it's "move with the screen slo-o-o-wly left-to-right (or reversed, in some stages), jump the gaps/energy bolts, watch for the flashing red button, 'DAT-DAT-DAH, DAT-DAT-DAT-DAH-DAT-DAT-DAT-DA!!', and then hold the button down as the crosshairs pan over to your target and shoot." Although the Space Maze portions drove me nuts, as well.

It says here "Windows 98, 2000, XP", and "DirectX 5" or later, so I'd assume at least a system capable of handling that. I'd also like to say that I had a lot of stuttering when I first ran the program, as well, but when I restarted my computer there were no additional problems. What type of computer are you running?

Yes, the patch is in a seperate link in the first post. Download the game and unzip it first, and then download, unzip, and run the patch program (and the additional program, if you want to hear the game's music). And now, some secrets: If you don't exchange the Polaris Star in the opportunities that you have, eventually you can upgrade it to the most powerful weapon in the game. There is a way to save...someone, but it requires that you find an object before they need rescuing. Look in the lower right-hand corner of the largest waterlogged room, as soon as you can get there. As with the gun, if you don't get the first jetpack you can and continue on, eventually you'll receive an upgraded one. Finally, there is a secret level you can get to, after the final battle. It does require following all the previous steps, though.

I wanted to let everyone here know about a game that's been out for a bit, that's pretty fun. It's an action/adventure platformer, and it's fairly long and has a good storyline as well. Here is the link to the game, and since it's obviously in Japanese, here is the English patch. I hope you take some time to check it out--it's fun.

Ah, you misunderstand--when I used to play this with my cousin, we would pick mode "B" and deliberately fight with each other, in between fighting the enemies. It actually was a lot of fun.

I remember using a Game Genie to walk on the Zeal map. Obviously, those islands were just for show. Edit: I see. The WIP version works; sorry to disturb anyone. Top post? Or do we not care about such things here?

The main problem in playing 2P with one person is that there's no fun in "accidently" hitting the other character.

Perhaps you need to set the button configuration to six instead of three, heh heh... In other words, watching it with the sound off worked for me, and I must say it was an impressive run, since you did do some new and unexpected things as compared to the last one. However...I felt that the lack of music hurt it a bit as far as being a presentation, as the "danger" theme was always one I enjoyed hearing. You can either submit it as-is, which is fine, or wait for comments/record again with sound. It's up to you.

Um...hasn't this game already been "run" for the Genesis? What would be the difference?

Ugh, what an uninspired Superman game. But, the movie was not bad, except for some spots: *Second level, once you decend a few levels, you land in that green pool and take damage. Couldn't you fall left and jump over the pool? *In the final level, you get hit by those shots and come to a dead stop each time; even with poor collision-detection, you should be able to dodge and move around (taking damage in the beams is understandable). *For heaven's sake, move around more in some of the boss fights, even when you don't have to. For example, moving around as the final boss moves with his clones, in the same circular pattern, or weaving above and below the boss after you destroy his first form and he is floating along. (By the way, was that yellow guy that kept popping up supposed to be an off-colored Mr. Myxlplyk?)

...such as removing the backstory of Cecil and Kain. But you're right--a lot of the dialogue is watered down (waterlogged, perhaps?). What do you mean by chauvanistic, if I may ask?

(Also OT) ...yes, that one's from Crystalis, another AxeMan work. Since it's likely you would get the sword before buying your first armor, they used that sprite for every sword you get afterwards--even when you're wearing some. (If you'll notice, the shirt the guy is wearing is one of those short-sleeved jersey types--odd for a man in his, er, profession. At least he isn't wearing one of those "rediculous ties"...) Ok, ok, some movie-related comments. On level...4, I believe, when you're inside that moving box, you don't destroy the pink enemies, rather choosing to jump over and move around them. Aestetics? On the sixth and seventh level, when you fight the platform bosses, you sometimes don't position yourself to shoot right when the hatch opens (although you don't miss a shot, either). Was that due to manipulating when the hatches open, or what?

My apologies for breaking into this discussion with a (sort of) off-topic post, but has anyone found the "secret" game in the Tent of Horrors? Apparently, at some point you can find a 200-point game there, which if won, will get another prize of some sort.

Wow...how anti-climatic. You know, you could have ended it with something like this: "My mother heard about the oil situation and offered to "hook me up" with this nice girl whose knew how to change oil--did I mention how nice she was? So I changed it myself". You know, in keeping with the theme.

Yes, but only when in the elevator shafts. SR boasts many more side-view areas and a completely new sprite for Snake while doing so!

Just the third game is being translated for now, I believe.

Well, here's something interesting I discovered online--a fan translation of a courtroom simulator. However! This game, Gyakuten Saiben ("comeback courtroom") 3, is apparently very fast-paced, and has...frenetic, and yet very funny comic timing. If someone who knows Japanese and is willing to check this game out and maybe give a review after a short playthrough, I'm sure that more interest in the translation could be generated. So...any interest?

(Is it too late to add a poll to your initial post, Itstoearly? You could have a number of suggestions, and we could vote on which one is the best/most popular.) Well, if you're that persistant you could always drive it around until the parts start grinding together and the engine catches fire.
