Good job! The boss was strange and the fight was boring in comparasion with typical fighting games, but it’s fine for a platformer like this, I guess.

Kiske, just for your information, if you avoid avoiding rings in WFZ, you can do it about 20 frames faster. I’ve tried it, but failed because of a worse Y subpixel position. I may try doing it again next few days, but, as usually, I cannot promise, sorry. This is a very very dirty attempt, which is still faster than what you did. Let me explain the idea how to make it even better: 1. After the first jump, you should be moving right, not left. Moving left was only required to avoid the rings. 2. After glide-landing back onto the terrain, you should touch the proper point, allowing you to boost to over 6000 sp/f 3. With (1) and (2) done successfully, you should be able to perform the big jump by pressing the jump button for only 1 frame. The biggest problem will be how you land — depending on your vertical alignment, you’ll be able to perform proper glide-landing, or not. This may require very tricky Y subpixel management, but I beleive it’s possible. Even if it’s not, taking 2 or 3 frame jump will still be a lot faster than what you did. The rest of the stage is fine. I think this can be done by someone who is very good at positioning, you can ask Tee-N-Tee or Aglar.

Это, пожалуй, один из самых игнорируемых аспектов ТАСинга, являющийся, тем не менее, одним из важнейших. Основное впечатление, которое должен создавать ТАС - у руля сверхчеловек. Что означает не только отсутствие неудач и необычную точность всех действий, но и стиль в целом.
А ведь и правда так, даже когда только начинаешь смотреть рандомное видео на ютубе, стоит внезапно заметить знакомую надпись “this is a tool-assisted recording”, начинаешь буквально подсознательно ожидать «о, сейчас начнётся что-то невероятное». Так что да, очень желательно стараться не разочаровывать зрителя… Где есть возможность сделать что-то крутое — лучше сделать это. Эх, в Сонике тоже можно было бы многое делать под музыку, ведь в нём тоже есть периоды ожидания. На моей памяти это делали лишь Sonikkustar и Aglar (в Sky Chase Zone), ну и немного пытались Qwerty и TheYogWog. А вообще, можно было бы почаще это практиковать, жаль только, это достаточно непросто. Ничего, как-нибудь попробую, возможно даже в одном из проектов, отмеченных у меня в подписи :)

The people’ preferences changed a lot since that time. That particular submission was made in 2008, when the zips and glitches were quite new for most of the viewers, who probably bored from almost-glitchess runs like SprintGod’s ones. Viewers wanted more runs like nitsuja’s one. Year by year, more and more new glitches and shortcuts were being found, and they made the gameplay less entertaining, because nowadays most stages are beaten way too fast to enjoy the TAS-like perfect trajectories and acrobatics. So, the interest to low glitch runs has reborn. That’s my opinion. A good illustration is TheYogWog’s TAS, way worse optimized than this one, but still having a huge mountain of Yes votes and thus having a star.

Relax, man, rejections happen. It was quite predictable, in fact. The run features an unusual goal, and it’s not as entertaining as other goals (like a ring attack) could look, so, even the outstanding quality guaranteed by Tee-N-Tee does not make it entertaining. And the entertaining factor is the most important when publishing the runs, which have goals other than pure speed.

Did you find this movie entertaining?
And not “does this movie worth publishing?”. Thus, the poll is only intended to determine if the run should be placed into moons or the vault, if it gets accepted. However, for this particular run the acception is not guaranteed, despite it’s quality, as the goal choice may seem a bit pointless.

It’s fun that Kiske actually goes 1 frame ahead of Tee-N-Tee (see the second spindash) in the very beginning of Hill Top 2, despite the fact that the whole stage is still very improveable. And other fun fact is that Kiske’s TAS, despite being less optimized, has much greater chance to be published, I think. It matches the criteria of the Vault, and receives good support from the viewers, making it possible to reach a moon… I also think that Knuckles could make a good use of monitor madness trick, in a way similar to Sonic

Wow, this was so ringless, can anyone imagine a more ringless run than this? :) On topic: I could provide a better temp encode, but the problem is that my PC with the TAS stuff and my fast network connection are far away from each other. So I am leaving it to someone else, sorry friends.

Hmm, I cannot recall any kind of problems. It's probably because I am using development branch of the HUD script from git. Other possible explaination is that I replaced some checksum in rom-check.lua, but I doubt. Sorry, cannot tell you exactly — online from my phone.
