A bunch of new homebrew games from the NESdev compo. I think the most interesting for a TAS would probably be Irritating Ship, then GunTneR. https://itch.io/jam/nesdev-2022/entries

Little Lancelot, a 2018 NTSC rerelease of PAL only The Legend of Prince Valiant. Route is pretty basic, 3 platforming, and 2 gallery shooter levels. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urm_62pw8k0

Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck on Game Gear. Quite a bit different, and a lot shorter, than the other versions. Unsure if taking a death in the final level is faster or slower than trying to stay alive. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7pOhCus3rE

The Lost World: Jurassic Park on Game Gear. I believe this version is only on Game Gear, simple platformer, TAS should easily be under 10 mins. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD36YLW9844

Super Golf on Game Gear, short golf game. I believe you can get a Hole in one on almost every hole if the wind can be manipulated. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgf0I-4puJQ

Game Gear version of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, quite sure a TAS could easily be sub 6, figuring out how to skip the death in Scene 3, RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6YurXCh5Nk

Planet of the Apes on GBA, straightforward cinematic platformer, really have to take care of your health compared to the GBC version. Levels are similar to GBC but at least half are different layouts. RTA run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMhufp2On0U

The Addams Family - pretty simple game, run around and get a bunch of keys and fight a handful of bosses. Lots of time to save getting good boss fights. On the boat part where I take a lot of damage, I believe if you frame perfect jump off the water you might not take damage, it would happen occasionally using turbo. Also dying into a screen transition skips the death animation and reloading, so it instantly takes a life and gives a full health refill on the next screen. Little Nicky, platformer, pretty fast moving. I discovered a multi jump glitch, hitting jump again near the top of the jump height, not sure of the exact window, but a TAS could certainly trivialize a lot of stages with repeated vertical jumping. Recently did an RTA run of Shape Shifter. Pretty neat Metroidvania style game, with animal transformations. This was the route I use, but I have an idea for a theoretical Any% route that is too hard/unrealistic for RTA - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bX5NVMREB8

Did a couple of RTA runs recently that don't have TASes. Devilish - sort of an adventure Breakout type game - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQcPLnzf7w4 Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! - port of the Genesis game, very laggy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdVMs-ZDoFk

I feel like it's an okay start. I've been doing some RTA runs the past few days and this TAS is about the same time as my PB. My current sum of best is 14:47 RTA, so that would lead me to guess sub 15 is surely possible with TAS timing. Curious why you don't use the charge shot more? I know it can cause a little lag, but there are lots of spots you can use it to avoiding having to stop. Star Man you can kill in 1 cycle, before he uses his shield a 2nd time. Not sure that using Rush Coil so much is saving time in a lot of cases. Wave Man fight looked very slow compared to just using full charge shots.

Another from the Quattro Arcade cart, Stunt Buggies. Pretty simple game, go around and collect all the bombs in each level. Enemies can be somewhat manipulated if they're close to you, not sure if you really can when they're far. My general RTA route, could definitely be a bit more optimal in some spots, but about as good as I came up with for RTA - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ksDeqsqtMk And also the 3 hidden level warps we found - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtQt8vMLPv0

Another short game with no TAS, CJs Elephant Antics, on the Quattro Arcade cart. Enemy item drops are random, so I would assume a TAS would just keep manipulating sodas (speed) and bomb drops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoHUFkp09c4

Men In Black 2: The Series on GBC, the first game has a TAS but nothing for this one. Pretty straightforward route, collect the 4 pairs of sunglasses in each level then exit. Skipping thru the machine guns in level 2 saves a lot but hard RTA. Most time save would likely be on the bosses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkSLb57Jawk

A couple of games that have routes but no TASes Conan - would be a very short 6ish min run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssbn2obKAy0 Monty on the Run - short FDS platformer, pretty straightforward - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zezhaJUC-jQ Stanley: The Search for Dr Livingston - long exploration platformer, fairly well routed a while ago but pretty simple - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zezhaJUC-jQ Happy to provide more info on any of the runs for anyone interested.

Recently routed and ran a couple of games that could definitely use a TAS. The Hurricanes - soccer themed platformer, fairly straightforward https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfQW6-U9wVU Harley's Humongous Adventure - another straightforward, simple platformer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVFywnrdbS0 Time Trax - platformer some cool time slowing mechanics, TAS mashing would take a lot of time off the autoscroller portions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkd7VqfI1HE

Happened to come across a game end glitch TAS the other day that I had not seen, there are links to different glitches if you follow the nico links. It appears it is not RTA viable thru this specific method, but I would love to know if it could be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK_QebIe4aw

I don't know if this is known, but GameGlitchGuy had a video of some glitches and there is a stair glitch in the FDS version he was doing, no clue if it's also useful, this new stuff just reminded me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJYESJPcG1s

It is also possible to clip into walls. Just messing around on console I have only been able to clip into 2 right side walls in the sewer. I was unable to clip into the walls of any other stage so I am not sure if those walls are different or it's the enemies getting you stuck. I don't think it would be super useful since you need a swinging weapon to climb up the wall and not every level has one, but it's still interesting. https://www.twitch.tv/whitehat94/clip/DreamyMoralWasabiGivePLZ

It is harder, but a lot slower, since you cannot hit the octopus boss nonstop
