nice work on finishing this. tho, no savestate this time? good thing I haven't watched the previous wip yet, so I'll watch this one instead, with that state. I'll just hope nothing has been changed in the previous part :p

you need to keep in mind that you were playing the game yourself, and trying to get the star with the camera set like that yourself. watching doesn't amuse that much on it's own, but the thought of how crazy it will be to perform it yourself makes it cool. and if that isn't the reason why you watch tas, then I don't know what is, because they hardly add anything different than coolness factors that are crazy to perform yourself.

yeah it's great to see but the point of the run is to see how all the coins are collected isn't it? :p hehe cool

I'd bet on the "slow" sign.
that's number 3 of the 2 :p don't know why you think it would win either..

if you only have to select the star, you only have to do that one star the first time (when you selected the only star available), then after that all stars up until that star will be available so you can select it, if I remember right. so you don't have to do 4, but just 1 star before you can select it and use the shell if what you said is right.

I would think the best course of action isn't so much concerning yourself with ensuring that the red coins are collected last so that you can get the red coin star. Would it not be in your best interest rather to focus on the path to collect all the coins quickest whether they are red or not and then grabbing the closest/quickest star to obtain. By altering your path to get red coins last I'd think this would take more time.
My thoughts exactly.
eh? didn't read my post thoroughly?

just make sure the time it takes for any of the 'non-coin-related-stars' to appear and to obtain (as in travel to) is less than to obtain the red coin star (if it isn't close thus) that has already appeared since it had to; apply this to the most optimal path and take in mind that a path change could be more optimal when you end up closer to the red coin star and taking that star after the last coin. also, I think since both these stars are forced in this kind of run, it would look better if they were both gotten too, but if it's really slower to do, then obviously go with another star.
I'm just saying that whatever is chosen is done after a thorough testing of all possibilities you could think of. barring those that are obviously slower.

I beat the turbo mode time... XD
that's not surprising since running Boris is not something I would attempt on a side league like turbo, and it saves a great deal of time when it's done as well as you did.

there's no way to avoid the red coin star either when you're doing an all-coin run.. (I know it's been mentioned) I would guess that in most courses the most optimal path would be to collect a red coin as the last coin or something like that, but I haven't thought it over or anything :p just make sure the time it takes for any of the 'non-coin-related-stars' to appear and to obtain (as in travel to) is less than to obtain the red coin star (if it isn't close thus) that has already appeared since it had to; apply this to the most optimal path and take in mind that a path change could be more optimal when you end up closer to the red coin star and taking that star after the last coin. also, I think since both these stars are forced in this kind of run, it would look better if they were both gotten too, but if it's really slower to do, then obviously go with another star.

Does the site become better by increasing the ratio of users who choose not to download and watch? I think not.
I'll simply respond with what's already been said by the same person I quoted previously:

SM64 fans (and there are lots) will love this as it is a classic challenge.
Add to that: I think if a video gets rejected because not every possible visitor would like it, then this site would be totally empty.

makes sense to me, doing them all once to show the tricks, but not maxing out, unless boredom can be avoided. I wonder what Rikku plans for his next project, maybe he is willing to do this coin collecting task =) someone could start thinking about routes / strategies and such for the time being :p

I'd be interesting in seeing some sort of 'collecting all coins that don't respawn', I think it has good potential for stunts and such, and it takes a good planning.

you should build up speed for leaving the mainframe (and Boris) and it seems that last warp could be better. I thought I saw a TAS of B1 once, where the final doors were opened during the mumbo-jumbo of Boris, try to do the key analyze when he has his hands up so you have more time during the next bit.

so basically, the difference is that savestates need verification, but that can be arranged :p
