GuanoBowl's name is J. But he named himself A in the new run.

I think that you need to roll towards a bush or something grabbable, then pressa to grab in the roll, then get pushed by something. Better ask acryte though

actually the skulltulas will only be positioned in 2 or 3 positions upon door entering. Upon entering 1 time, i jumped from the chest and got almost past the 1st one and he nailed me. The 2 time, I got past the 1st one and 2nd one. I dont remember where they were the 3rd time but I didnt even get close getting past the 1st enemy.
Then shoot the first skulltula.

needed to be timed cause he would have to wait for the skulltula to face him
You can manipulate the position of the skulltula.

Ok, here we go... mwl and Coolbumty: If GuanoBowl didn't light the torch, then how would you suggest that he'd activate the sword glitch? Not of the chest, I'm sure... AKA: What I meant is to use Acryte's trick to get a boost of the skulltula on the web in the first room... the one that is near the top.

It's a little dissapointing that you didn't use the skulltula boost on the web (saves 3-4 seconds if done optimally), but everything else was perfect, so I can't complain.

The only thing you can activate the sword glitch off is the chest with a heart.

When I'm using that new input Guano said he was using, the game runs extremely slow. :( Edit: I guess I'll be sticking with the .avi's this time around.

Haha that was great. Love the shaky cam effect. :) Someone a while ago suggested doing a backflip to go up the tree faster. I can confirm that it is faster. pretending the camera is behind banjo as he's coming from the stump honeycombdont head straight for the tree, head a tiny bit to its left since the ground is higher, and backflip at the right moment so that you will grab the very top of the trunk and immediately hop up the tree. (even though you hit it from the left side you will still grab it). Then a jump to the piece to grab it, and a feathery flap to the waterfall platforms will change your direction quickly
And if you're coming from the rock area, you can even backflip all the way up. :)

It's not impossible since bkDJ has done it, but it's a million times harder on Mupen. I wonder why.

I can't do the jump in Mupen, but it works perfectly fine in PJ64. Must be some difference between the emulators.

Still can't do it..... :( YautjaElder, can you do it for me :P
If I had any knowledge whatsoever on how to use Mupen properly, I would. Sadly, that is not the case. :(

This is a small time saver I believe... it probably depends on what route you're using for spiral mountain. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=D87DA0DA013B7AF8

Sami - Try this: While preparing for the backflip, crouch and you'll slide. While sliding, turn to the right (facing the wall), then backflip when you are on ground high enough. This works 100% of the time for me (also note that I'm not using slowdown, I'm just playing on PJ64). Demonstration video: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=44A304F101A0B815 I hope you can get it. ;)

Can't you just use the m64 bkDJ provided, or is there something I've missed?

I just tought I'd ask... has it been tested if it is faster to backflip up onto the tree in spiral mountain? I seems faster than climbing to me...

It's good to see that you're trying to destroy all the mistakes, Sami. This will be a awesome TAS.

The boulder area could use more optimization. You should definitely use frame advance when side hopping, so that you jump as soon as you land. There was at least one sidehop more than needed in the boulder area.

Is there anyone working on a fix to that white-screen stuff anyway? It's a shame that a run of such high quality is marred by that crap so often.
In the final .avi, I guess you could just cut it out. Dunno about a mupen movie, though.
