I will not find it entertaining. I also think the princess-only run shouldn't be on the site. But if we keep a princess only run, I see no reason to exlude a mario-only, toad-only, or luigi-only run.

if it is basically the same as this movie but faster, why wouldn't OBSOLETE this run then?

left+right is accepted for every other run submitted why would it be disallowed here?

Ditto. And that sounds like the criteria for start movies.

Looks optimized enough and the movie is entertaining enough. No complaints, though nothing particularly wow-ed me. I disagree that it is the best x-men game at least in TAS terms. Genesis X-men 2 is much faster paced and has more interesting strategic possiblities with wall & ceiling climbing and teleporting. Anyway, I will vote yes.

most are going to agree that normal is best as far as 1p vs 2p, I vote that you test which one is faster and do that one. Would the suicide glitch mean that you fight the bosses with only 1 character? If so then it is pointless to use the glitch, you might as well do a 1p run. If you can fight the bosses as 2p then the glitch would be awsome. Yes it would be 1 character a lot of the time but so what? You aren't doing it for the 2-player aspect but because it is a strategy which saves time.

(On a side note, I dislike it when people compare with other games and say: "This run was bad, but there are way worse movies published".
Agreed.
But if compared to the Adventure Island 1 and Adventure Island 3, I think this game is by far the most suited for a TAS.
Agreed as well. AI1 and 3 are publishable games and this game is more entertaining than both of them.

This game is far less repetitive than 1 or 3. This warped version is a much better choice than the warpless. This run looks really fast and flies through each level with style :D Easy yes vote.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1408/mm7%20junk%20stage%20done.smv Junkman destroyed. Bablo & brusy have refined the stage to save over 200 frames. As for the boss, I ended up identical to tinister. There are 2 things that look suboptimal that are infact not: 1) destroying junkman on the edge of the screen This adds several hundred frames of explosion animation but it is unfortunately unavoidable. Junkman will only stand on the edges. You can provoke him to switch sides but only by shooting him. Therefore he is invulnerable at the center of the screen. 2) making him jump only once his invulnerability time is longer when jumps up after being hit. Unfortunately if he doesn't jump he will "suck" up the debris. He is invulnerable in this animation. I have seen no randomness in his pattern so this is unavoidable. So no improvments. But the good news is that we are over 200 frames ahead and actively working on this run again :D

The problem with a TAS defeating the CPU is also the fact that it can be done on a console. What is the significance of watching the run vs. posting the move sequence?

The "bumper cars" sections were cool at first, but way too long and repetitive. Also, they don't LOOK optimized (perhaps they are but it still looks awkward and clumsy). The graphics & sound effects are very good which doesn't help. I know personally that this game is very difficult, but this TAS still isn't interesting. Bad game choice in my opinion. I will have to vote no as well.

Don't buy the candle where you did! You wasted 234534 screens of walking time to get from the 100 rupees to the candle, then used start+up+a to continue, and then walked proceeded to walk right by a candle shop! What?!
This needs to be underlines bolded and flashing. This oversight costs mega-time. Also I am voting no for the takes no damage. It is painful to watch you stand there and wait for enemies to move out of your way. This is also too unoptimized to be accepted. It's a good start though. Also, I would like to see a good swordless run on the site so I encourage you to try again. Read the information on the forum topic and post a work in progress so you can get some feedback.

I agree with this. Even in the new 2 minute improved run, I couldn't help but think there isn't much that this offers beyond a speed run. This game isn't a terrible game for a TAS but not a particularly interesting one either. Like guybrush said, it looks improvable, but I wouldn't be able to confirm it that it is true. Still, the fact that it LOOKS improvable makes it less interesting. The autoscroller level was a drain. There were several other spots where the game was particularly dull. Overall I say this is a no. And I am not convinced that a run of this game could get a yes vote from me (though I'm not ruling it out).
