How many explosives are you saving in the deku palace, and how will they be used? Also I might as well ask, the side-hops to get out of wrong warp seem awefully slow, can't you just slide it or something?

Wait, so does that restart the run? Not completely of course, but from the first point where this would save time? Which I imagine to be at least a couple seeing as you can pull items while you're sliding. Oh and it also looks like he's staggering backwards a little right after being hit by the bomb, so maybe it's not so much faster after all? Explain more in depth please. I mean there's no way you can hex this in right? ^^

I'd also like to know if the 100% could be done compilation-style. ^^ I know hex editing is a total pain, but every level has a clear entry and exit point, so I guess, unless there are RNG issues, it could be possible.

So it is slower because of CPU limitations? Does that mean camera angles have to be optiomized for speed rather than entertainment throughout the complete run?

4-10 weeks from a complete restart? That's absolutely nuts, isn't it?

Hmmm, not to come in here and pretend I'm an expert... but isn't this how it works: Let's say you're BLJing for 10 frames. If you auto-fire A, press-release, you get 5 extra jumps or whatever. Would it not be exactly the same if you did press-start and release during start? So I take it this is what's going on: If we then differentiate between game-frames and pause-frames; on game-frame one, you press A and start. We then jump over to menu-frames, where you release A. Then on game-frame 2 it repeats, with A+start. From having coded a bit I know the most likely approach is to check if the A button has been released (by a boolean flag), and if it's currently being pressed. This would seemingly let you jump twice as many times during a BLJ, assuming mario is in a state where he can jump, on every frame.

I'll come out from the depths of lurker haven to tell you this: You crazy mofo's scared the hell out of me. To me I think it's alot about watching the runs progress, watching new tricks being discovered, watching the rival speedrunners go at it, all kinds of frame-wars, and the competition of it all. You make a TAS because you not only want to be the best human at something, you want the be the best there could possibly ever be. No matter how many months or rerecords it takes. It's inspiring to see people work so hard towards a goal that is pretty arbitrary in the large picture of things, but that is important to them; Entertaining, and being the best. As for money, adscendmedia.com / cpalead.com offer what is known as a "content blocker". It's a little piece of code you can place over an embedded video, to make the users fill out a survey before they watch the video, which in term earns the website owner a small sum of cash. While I can see not wanting to force members to fill them out, you could embed both versions with and without, it would be like a tiny donation that does not cost the user anything but time which I am sure most of us would not mind giving some away. Just a thought, either way, keep on keeping on.

Can't get it to synch up for the life of me, and the .avi has been taken down. Any chance for a re-upload of the latest WIP?

So you're saying you're willing to host it? All we need is a coder and a couple of memory-sniffers. This would be such an awesome project.

"So counting items that were there but aren't anymore is imo just stupid." You could just make every item into a bottle right before you finish the game, and complete it with however many items you want. :) So, if this scarecrow skip works, would you still go to the graveyard to pick up the shield as an adult, or wouldn't it be faster to buy one from the market when you're going to temple of time anyway. You'd probably have to make a short visit to the rupee-room right outside the market though but I imagine it being faster than going to the graveyard, though that is pretty close too.

So I'm not gonna go through the whole thread to check but I assume you guys know about changing directions while bumbchu hovering yes? Maybe it could be used to save time (bomb fuses) when you have to hover next to a wall?

So if you manage to skip the scarecrow that should save almost 2 minutes assuming you can get a bug from somewhere relatively close to the path you're taking. Where would this be? Is there one in the Kakariko cave that you're jumping in to reset cuccoo's? (Can unfortunately not check myself at this moment). Also, the WIP gave me a raging boner. 90k rerecords already? Awesome work and insane dedication! Looking forward to the end result!

Hey guys, I was wondering if this guy's second method works? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFn-OCa4Fc8 The video cuts off or something so it could definately be a fake, but I was able to get through the wall using this, however I couldn't land it on the other side. It looks like it could be slightly quicker than having to set up it up the way he does in the first part of the movie. To explain more in detail what I mean about the second method, he's sort of looking almost straight at the door, instead of standing parallel to it (play from 0:43). I'm thinking it's probably just a video edit anyway.
