Item 2 is actually (generally) pretty slow. Since you usually are not already on Item 2 (you add a menu change) and you have to wait for it to reach it's max speed, you generally have to fly for quite some time to make it even worth it. Item 2 wasn't used in the previous runs at Wily 3 because "flying is fast", but because it allows you to stay out of the water and avoid a ton of lag frames. It also allows you to set up the zip in the spikes optimally as well. We found these time saves are outweighed by flying over a long flat area using Item 2 and minimizing the total number of menu changes throughout the Wily stages. Every time you enter the menu it comes at a cost (about 50f).

We should because there are a lot of improvements, the main issue I think is just time. I'll check with Shinryuu today and see if we can get something going. There's too many improvements not to finish it.

Yes, we're still working on this project. Sorry the progress has been so slow. In lieu of any interesting update.. Here's an idea that I've had for a long time and was finally able to get to work. Is the ACE code possible in Wily Stage 2? I'm quite certain it's possible to do a DelayRightScroll there. I just played around with it for about an hour and while I didn't succeed, i got it down to NEXT = 18 EDIT: referring to the wily stage 2 boss of course. And it's definitely possible: I just got NEXT = like -200, so with some optimization this scroll can be done. However, I guess my original question is does this boss room act the same as the wily 3 and 4 boss rooms?

Cool, let me know if you need any help. I found the airman and clashman time savers after the last movie but was way too burnt out to go back and redo it. The clashman trick can also be used in woodman's stage after the death zip. I don't know if it's possible to save anytime but maybe you can squeeze out 8 frames from that trick if you're lucky. The Heatman trick is awesome I'm really surprised we've never thought of that before. You should also try to get the delay tech glitch at the end of clashman's stage that changes the color of the boss room. I only got this to work that one time and it was really cool but I couldn't figure out how to reproduce it. Ask FinalFighter though he probably knows. It won't save time but will add to the entertainment value Also I had an idea once to scroll in wily 1 before the dragon appears using heatman's weapon fully charged. You should see if pirohiko can look into it and see if it's possible. I think it might be. Good luck.

FinalFighter: Is it possible to acquire magnetbeam with bombman's weapon? The idea is: Bombman 8x drop item > Delay stage clear with Rockbuster reselect bombman stage Bombman 8x drop item > Change arm Bombman's weapon > Delay magnet beam adapter > Delay Stage clear (Again) Select Elec man. Bombman's weapon creates a lot of lag but I don't know how it affects the probability of getting the object that allows magnet beam to appear just a thought... let me know

finalfighter and i have known about this trick for a year or so. I'm not sure if it will save anytime in clashman stage but it might save time in the woodman stage.

yes it is possible. my only question is can we use delay water current at the beginning of bomb man's stage because that specific object does appear but i duno if it can realistically be used and then acquire magnet beam?

You will not need refills in elec man's stage. you simply grab the magnet beam again. Great work finalfighter! i really hoped something was possible! So now we > run to grab the magnet beam > run back near the beginning and use delay stage clear with rockbuster?

i dont know how the award system works here at all but im gonna go ahead and nominate finalfighter for taser of the year i know its hard for people who don't know mega man games to appreciate it but seriously this guy is NUTS and the new techniques completely blow my mind, great work as always!

In Wily 2, why the switch to Leaf Shield?
we must kill the enemy before it fires, because it cannot be avoided
Likewise the use of the boomerangs vs. a Sniper Joe shortly afterwards.
boomerang is the only weapon to kill him before he raises the shield

assuming a hack is well received by the users and the run is well made, why does it hurt your community to have multiple hacks of the same game? i'm sorry about starting from a soft-reset. i came to understand tasvideos does not like movies beginning from soft-reset when we were near to finishing the run. i completely forgot about this until now. i think the difference is about 8 frames.

delay current begin screen changed intense graphic bug. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/849130848/woodmanDCBSC.fm2 the game cycles through the level map. the ENTIRE level map. in fact it isn't until frame 67030 after the end of my movie that it cycles back to the original screen you are on. :)
