To be honest, this improvement is really nothing :(
Happylee, I want you to improve the smb walkathon run again. I guess you didn't see the improvement I posted in that thread.

TAEVGMs are pretty cool. I'm wondering something. If you make a slower movie, but it is more entertaining than the previous version, will it be accepted? Entertainment is really opinionated though.

If Happylee doesn't get back to this. I'll save this one for April Fools Day. ;)

meh, my improvement could save maybe 1-2 seconds. Pretty significant if you consider that this run improves the older submission by about 2.5 seconds. Happylee doesn't have to redo it, but since this is smb, I'm pretty sure he would. If not, someone else will eventually.

I don't know much about this. I hope you've found a way to stop screen scrolling animations!

Looks like someone edited the RAM to give the game wrong ideas about the map layout -- particularly, the room number and current stripe length, and then created a savestate-anchored movie to demonstrate the effect.
Can't be. It was on the normal "Rockman 2 Dr. Wily No Nazo" and I wouldn't know the first thing about editing the RAM. I was playing along in real time when the screen could move left to my suprise. The far right ladders work and you can continue to move upwards.
Too bad you didn't make a movie that begins before the incident to prove this claim. If this is indeed true, it could prove very useful.
He's the guy that has the mm2 speedrun record, I'd beleive him.

So it this thread about pronunciation instead then? T A S I'm sure you could convince console speedrunners to submit TASes. Honestly, it's helped me with my speedrunning a bit (Knowledge wise anyway).

It's an autoscroller. I don't usually consider those good candidates, though Gradius was pretty good, so what do I know? ;)

I feel that a run should never end with a death (unless the game is beaten). So either do a swordless run and figure out a way to win or just use a sword for only (gannon. ;)) I remember typing gannon and being like "I'm pretty sure everyone is spelling this wrong."

I'm making huge progress with this. Lots of help from AnS too. :) I still think it may be a while before I complete this TAS, but I don't think it will be too long now. I have a lot of strategies I've already come up with for the later levels, so I don't think those will take too long either. Depending on how much free time I have in the next weeks, I could finish this very soon. :) EDIT: More and more glitches are being found now. I have one slight problem once again, but it's more of an annoyance than an actual problem I guess.

This topic briefly becomes a confusing mass of random posts due to trying to cram all the nomination topics together. Tricky to read through. I'm probably breaching etiquette, like Warp was pointing out earlier, but I'd like to nominate my Metroid 2 run for the glitched category. It demonstrates a game that's been gltiched to no end, but does so without jumping to the end like most glitched runs do. Condenses the action instead of skipping it.
If you can't self-nominate - I'll nominate for FW. This was a great glitch-tastic run.
I automatically read that as "great glitch-tastic classic." I'll be sure to check out that run. I can't seem to think of a lot of runs that came out. I'll probably give my votes later.

To anyone who wishes to improve this: Improvement: get a mushroom and do the bullet bill glitch in level 8-3. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/281041456/smb%20walk%20testing.fm2 EDIT: obviously, you want to avoid fireworks instead. ;)

I think SMB should be starred, but it might just be because I like the game so much. It's a really popular game though and has some interesting glitches. I just feel a classic like that should be on the list anyway.

Just looking at his other videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXYaY-elmSA&feature=channel_page thought it was the one he linked whoops. But still, seems like it should be non-120 star, but whatever.

But why are some of them with the 120 star triple jump and some without it?

The big problem with TASVideos schwag is that it couldn't use any copyrighted content, which includes any game content. So, what're you going to put on there? Text? "I can beat King's Bounty in ten seconds!"?
I'd probably buy that shirt.

Funny how Andrew always seems to get featured in these kinds of articles. :) I guess the SMB record is something you can relate you, something that can seem impressive without watching the run. I'll have to concour with other people who have posted, it was a nice objective article, however a bit short. Though any publicity is good publicity.
Well, I certainly don't mind! ;)

So should I work on a smw run again? I guess that'd be cool. I'll probably work on it early 2009.
