Voted (weak) Meh, this didnt was realy entertaining to me, i was bored at the end. The slowyness of the character and non-interresting overall game concept didnt made up for me. Now i think like all run from mato, this is quality and probably publish worthy, but the game itself doesnt catch up precedents ones :p

It not so much about the quantity of money, its not because you donate *only* 10$ to the site that its not apreciable, every step goes forward a bigger contribution, the same goes for tasing to me, kinda. Most obviously, none of us do that like a job, this is not realy comparable, this is more like a hobby. Now, when i sayd it was "very motivating", yeah ok maybe i did exagerate it, but its a factor in any case, we are all different tought, so we dont have all same motivations ect...

Im sorry but you are not a player, dont speak for them, i am a player, the 10$ bounty is very motivating (at least it was for awards), and im gratefull for it. As you saw, i did refunded them to the site, this even more motivate me to tas, because, i cant realy make a donation by myself, giving out my bounties is a good alternate way to still contribute to the site treasury.

Thats boring to put a translation everytime, to say the least, beside, i dont see why they keep answering him, at this point, he asked for the rom ect... its either a kid or a retard guy, just close that topic or whatever, its embarassing, all of people answering are good enought to know how to replay mario64 tas while this guy dont, and at this pace its going to take 3 weeks just to be sure he have the right emulator and rom. I know its going to look very elitist post (and i broke 2000 rules with it), but theres a limit i think to newbieness, hes not going to make movies or whatever, this is clear now after thoses posts, timewaste.

http://www.pcsx.net/compatibility.shtml You can check there but those lists are a joke, outdated and very small. Chronicles is one of the few that doesnt work, a vaste majority of games are working fine. Theres also some issues on the original pcsx that i know are fixed, youll likely never find a complete list (that exactly belong to pcsx-rr at least, now say you can search on pcsx-reload ect... but its another matter). Hacks sometimes fix the problems, but i dont think theres any for chronicles. Castlevania Symphony of the Night work just fine in case you care only about cv games :p Edit: on irc we discused briefly this, and here what i came up with

Just trowing out here that with the recent (2009) new systems we should have at least 1 or 2 stars for those systems in order to balance things out, not saying theres forcably candidate for every of the new plateforms, but well, if theres 0 i think its not very balanced. This was already sayd on irc, just posting out that argument as a reminder.

Im not sure what stage you are referring to (that would be easier then to answer for me), but overall, if possible, i tend to use trow knife for low hp ennemys, this goes faster than jump+sword, you are not fully stoped while trowing the knife itself (~8 frames walking?). Also, you have to take in consideration how spawn ennemys, generaly doing jump+sword mean been body blocked by the next ennemy (not on screen yet). Right now if i think to stage5, i definitly tested to jump+sword, while in the run i kill sometime 3 in a row with knifes, at the time i shoot, they are not on screen, this definitly help respawning faster ennemys, they die as fast as possible opposed to die as soon as i reach them, levels are generaly shorter than the supply of ennemy.

I personally think using the movie ID is a good thing, but i dont see the use of putting authors names, sure its not like we are trying to gain space or such, but more tinny filename mean also clearer listing. Beside, when you open the movie replay dialog box, there is generaly displayed the "author comment", that should be fair enought for credits.

Well im sorry to persist with the same argument (not just to be assy), but from same editor there is dd2, its a beat'em'up, and its ~2x slower. http://tasvideos.org/1433M.html Kaze is likely the fastest (movements i mean here) pce beat'em'up ive came across from naxat, so far. Now if you forcably want to compare a car with a balloon, yes the balloon can fly higher than a car, thats sure. About increasing speed in the game, im not sure how it would have be any good in real time, at all, its not like you run for hours to reach next ennemys or boss, its very small running involved, so i have hard to see how it would make it more enjoyable (and yeah, faster mean likely less playable). To be more specific, unassisted you dont move around as much as the tas does, ennemys spawn and surround you, and keep respawning/coming at you, because you dont defeat them as fast as in the tas, unassisted experience (for me) was more static. If i had to enhance the game, i would remove parry system totaly, increase ennemy number x5 (or more if possible, kinda like ninja spirit) on screen and make them as low hp as possible, lastly of course more moves for kaze.

For hard mode, tomorow i believe. This is not easy to answer your question, theres several factor, from a "classic" point of view, you would be right. Ill speak about the one i remember the most, stage3 boss, i defenitly remember that boss trying to jump once it reach the "sweet" spot you are describing (and that i use on latter boss), that would have loose time forcably if i let her jump, now the problem is i didnt finded how to manipulate the boss pre-battle, so she was keeping jumping like retard, i could have hit her (and her to parry), but in that case she is not enought on screen, and kinda ruin the idea, as last resort i just used trow... and it rolled up her attack pattern. Now im not saying that very boss is perfect, but that the issue i ran into. The stage11 boss (bird guy) was also much manipulated to get this outcome (see the weird first jump). @Derakon, this is a little harsh compare, i mean, thats a shooter with very small sprites, no wonder its fast :p what about to compare with dd2 pce (its from naxat too, same game genre) ? I tought the colors, animation, and fast paced action (i think the ninja goes pretty fast after all) would make up for the unbalanced game system (parry ect...) and pretty repititive gameplay (i agree on this). 2 players would have been nice (say Kaze + Suzu), but well, theres none. I didnt excepted at first the game would have 13 stages, i was pretty surprise for a beat'em'up to be so long, even if half is just loadings. (now of course SOR3 is 46min long, but well)

From what you can see (just after the manga intro actually), it doesnt seem very important move, i doubt it will be more powerfull than the 3rd phase of the sword swing, overall i doubt it save anytime, but it could make it more enjoyable to watch simply because it does add variety to the run by using a new move. I see now i forgot to mention also that 1/2 of the movie = blank (loading) Im uploading to youtube the easy mode right now, so likely the encodes should popup soon ;)

Voting no, this is not very fun, hmmm, how is it superplay ? you can shoot instantly anywhere Im pretty sure not to deceive Randil since apparently he didnt excepted this to be published, so no regrets ! :D (Now that thing with the robot using the gun to shoot at the screen sounded interresting, but this is not directly related to tasing tought)

Theres no USA rom of that game, its JAP only Now its pretty funky that it doesnt sync with other bios, im curious, what bios desynced ? @fruitbane: the game is realy nice, but they fucked up on something, they obviously didnt tested hard mode, its stricly the same game tossed with ridiculously high hp (i believe its way more "higher" than for SOR3 versions for exemple), so, i did also easy mode that goes 8 min faster. The most noticable i believe is the miniboss tiger, it take longer to kill it than the boss itself. Note: the movie is more blank than filled .... there is a lot of loadings (over 50% of the movie = loading) Idealy, if people liked easy mode and think hard mode is gay or otherwise, then not only voting but posting your opinion will surely help for judging.

Rename your iso to bin, magic (dont forget to rename inside the cue too!) I remember the iso part of the code come from mednafen, unlikely to be changed at all.

1.I prefer 100% than 100percent, for the obviousness of shorter name, now for one thing is launching the movie as an argument can be troublesome with symbols, yet, i still prefer symbols. 2.I dont think you forcably ever need to put the full game name, youll end with filename over 100 characters in runs with multiple authors ect... "akumajouspecial-any-v02-adelikat,randil,arukado,darkkobold.fm2" "castlevaniasymphonyofthenight-any-v02-arukado,piratesephiroth.pxm" What about initials eventually, does castlevania need to be repeat for eatch, cv maybe instead? 3.The authors bit is kinda not usefull, you wont make it to the download without seeing the submission page first, also, theres a comment field reserved for this matter in (almost) all rerecording emulators, where generaly you put your name, upon replay, it show it in the dialog box 4.Use spacing between words in titles ? The shortest the filename, the clearest it should appear to the viewier, 'version' is probably the very important bit in this

I think that unpublishing movies is a bad habit to get into. The potential ramifications to the site content and the morale of TASers could be rather severe if used over zealously.
I have to agree with that, i think this is quite right, this could affect morale of both experimented and newby tasers, regardless, not saying it will necessarly be like that, but its nowhere near encouraging, witches hunt heh... I also agree its quite not respectfull to put a "this is shit" label on a movie, like, plz dont look at it, its SO bad we had to label it, yet, we absolutly need to get ride of shitty run (like OoT ect...), this can be done maybe without hurting anybody (grue somewhat help on this matter, diverse attention eventually). Im personnally feeling more important the players defense than the public misleading, remove players > no movies to watch... after all. This is very biased opinion of course. Analvideos.org should stay as it is, a joke, not a concrete fact, even if sometime we are asking a lot in term of quality ect...
