I never beated the game back then when i was a kid playing to MD, i rented it so i didnt got time to finish it. The game is pretty much as cool as i remember it, and you did realy a good job at running it. The ending tought does intriguate me, arent the big ship was suppose to have crash into the earth, how come it goes back into the sky thereafter in ending :/ Anyway, yes vote from me, and good luck for more ;)

Regard to the 2 posts above, i would like to nominate sotn any% If someone else could second it, to make it more leggit, would be cool My main reason is that the run use a very innovative route by discoveries, i doubt anybody would claim removing the bat from the equation was obvious in order to save time, the ending of the run before the boss is SO slow, anybody would consider its a bad idea, yet, it does obsolete by over a minute the bat run (more than the bat run can ever possiblly be further optimized) Now since we speak about routes, gotta say Chrono Trigger glitched is falling under the same category, how more innovative a run can be, since it basicly skip nearly the whole game! (800%+ obsoletion!!!) So on that matter, i think it deserve to be nominate too On same topic, i think DS PoR and DoS also share same aspects (brake the game "intended" route a lot)

I was doing some tests, for sake of easyness i just changed directory path so the resize was effective when i updated. The current set displayed on http://tasvideos.org/Awards.html should be relativly the definitive one (unless discution here lead to some changes...) What i did was : -upgrade the pedestal so its enought tall to include the date on it -tasers now get the podium -a largest podium with extra decorative sprites been reserved to taser/rookie of the year -tas of the year gets a pedestal almost twice larger than other tas and a full size bisqwit's helmet -all sprites have better precision/quality (limited by my skills/sprites sources anyway) -glitchy sprite overhaul -changed frog mario jump to a better frog mario pose (this is arguable i guess) -use a different sonic sprite, superior speed (maybe we could use flying cape mario since its not anymore used...?) -use icon sets for consoles (when possible) remark: while the console/pad idea was great imo, theres a problem, it wont fit portable or sega cases, using logo (or logo font) when consoles are less know by public seem adequate (see sega, having all consoles icons together is not possible anyway), for consistancy sake, having sometime pad, sometime not, sound like a source of confusion, so i avoided this

Id like to answer another comment that is wrong:
(since FCEU changed to FCEUX and its frame rate changed from 60.0 to 60.1)
Actually i was just upgrading my FCEUX and watched the recent changes:
FCEUX wrote:
•Movie play dialog displays movie time based on ~60.1 (~50.1 PAL) instead of 60 and 50
So that mean the timming is not affect, its just about the movie lenght calculation in the replay dialog box. *cought* Then... Does rejection is an insult or something ? also pretty much if it stayed that long in bench, it likely mean it would have been a tight judging, well i wont say it would be accepted for such, i believe its likely to get rejected too, but, you should not too much care about this anyway, thats the job of the judges, if they are "slow" theres likely a reason :p

If I want to find a better game to TAS regardless of any form of entertainment in general, I'm sure there can be plenty out there. BUT for majority, they're already occupied and the times that are posted are either unbeatable, flawless
Thats because you only think about nes, if you just try megadrive, snes or even more recent systems, youll find a whole bunch of good games to tas

http://tasvideos.org/1419M.html < here you could save time by taking damage, overall, its way more impressive by the movie goals not to take damage (it was made with playaround spirit, so taking damage can save time, likely)

We are not on votes yet, so ill nominate Ryuto (since i cant self nominate, anyway someone did already), we are basicly both the "top" producer on rookies list this year, 20movies in total combined.

I watched encode quite soon, i liked it, but somehow i forgot to vote, or tought it wouldnt be necessary, anyway it seem to be back on bench, so ill vote yes this time to push toward publication. Imo regardless whatever know improvements, 30 seconds is (largely) enought. Now if you look how frame wars work, like the smb one, when theres 2 runs in bench and one is faster than the other, generaly the guy just cancel... and if not then its obvious to choose the one to reject. That rule preventing an improvement is somewhat making the site sloppy, if it happen theres so many frame wars requiring the staff to hold down publication pace in order to unsure highest quality content, then just delay judging, to offer more time to contenders for submit improvements. As such the delaying status seem well apropriate and enought to handle such situations, rules are maybe not necessary (leaving also more flexibilty on the staff side) However, this is pretty clear nobody is claiming here to submit anything in close futur, as such rejecting seem wrong for everybody

Thats fine, youll be the only one having miss a very good glitching movie More seriously, like sgrunt i wonder how in the hell he could glitch so much the goal counter? And why does he use the 2nd player at some point? that was looking so goofy but i guess its tied to the rest of the mess going on after Also why on hell the referee is a dog ? wtf... someone got high while making that game

Jumping doesnt add lag but its quite obviously a little bit slower, not realy much tought. But its not possible in arcade mode to avoid jumping, any hit will kill you, and you cant avoid ennemy swings since they have a speed superior to yours. In pce mode it would be possible, since you can take hits, but the pce mode is too easy i think, and its not the good ending. Also since you dont want to distrube the flow... you dont want to stop and attack, so the only way left to manipulate luck (ennemy spawns) is to jump, swaping weapons doesnt seem to affect anything. Attacking while jumping doesnt loose any speed from what i could tested. Now about the style, well, have a try yourself, youll see the lag is very bullshit in this game, im not jumping for any fun, like i mention in the submision text, it wasnt avoidable, as for the weapons choice its the same problem, i wish i could have use the grappin thing, it was neat, but it happen to lag everywhere in the game, style or speed... i choosed speed. Also, obviously the grenade are the best weapon here, they do splatter damage (keep damaging boss while animation of the bomb is running). The stage4 scene 2 is a nightmare on the lag matter, and you cant jump there while on ceilling... witch make it the slopiest part of the run (klmz, any good improvement on lag would be here, 1/3 total lag just for this small sequence). About the music btw, both gb and this are obviously ripped off the arcade version, same source, as for claiming the gb have a better sound processing than pce... thats a matter of tastes i guess (personnally i think its ridiculous to even try to compare them, obviously the pce version is far superior) Edit: hmm, about compare stage design with gb, most stages has been shortened in gb, less ennemy, and boss are obviously weaker, the hero sprite is cool tought in gb, they made some efforts, but nowhere near comparable (imo) to the pce version sprites The pce version stage design is identical (afaik) to arcade, only sprites are "downgraded" if you make a strict compare to arcade, the weapon upgrade system is different i think, but not much worth to be mention Imo if this cross plateform obsolete gb version, then arcade version will have to do same with this movie If both co-exist, then a third movie would emerge if in futur the game can be emulated

Any homebrew playing music would do same, doesnt matter if its a branded game or not, this doesnt beat anything nor does show anything interresting (apparently), and its not superplay Voting no, despite your efforts This is more entertaining : http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8906

Hmm i never played this game before, i cant tell if its enought optimized, yet, i enjoyed watching this, made me think to one of ryuto recent submision on snes, but this one is graphically more appealing and the end stages music just kick ass, ending is not interesting tought and the video is a bit long, but that was minor issue. Yes vote

Necro posting ftw! So i have a couple of questions, first, does this was ever submited/rejected/canceled ? Then i have to say im feeling the complete opposite about choosing black belt over hokuto no ken, when playing black belt its obvious its a rip off ken, this is very annoying when you know the serie because its like, put mario with tails, as a kid i remember been highly pissed off because i was watching the anime and riki, rita or such shit felt very gay. Most obviously, i prefer the music in hokuto no ken, as well as graphics That been sayd, on the game itself, from the different playground video i saw on youtube, apparently the main difference is not much on plateforms but essentialy on difficulty... black belt is way much easier... So for that matter, choosing black belt mean easy mode to me, just for that its justified imo to use hokuto no ken From what i saw, theres also a sort of warping in hokuto no ken thats not present in black belt (see here) This probably save time, well, main question now is are you still working on this FODA or just abandoned ?
