Not realy tryed more since whe found out rng is a bitch in por This will require a great ammount of whilling and patience to make it "the fastest possible", i think The main trouble i have with this is the lag, so much trouble playing with the rng while in X months when the 3D engine get updated... the movie will not sync Feel somewhat like a waste to hurry up on this, i want at least the save rooms to get fixed before doing more, this is the major "breakpoint" possible in the run (1/2 frames are lag in save rooms) Then the final guard is fully 3D :p

No the final sword is the best route only for a TAS, for a human its impossible to get such a perfect fight to beat your 14min 26/28 dmg depending your level (in the tas i mean), witch mean around 358/385 hits The TAS with final sword will not "exterminate" my holy claymore run i think, i *only* strike 150 times, so its gonna be epic fight lol (more wings ect...) Now if you kill some boss and top up your level (unassisted i mean), you might come with an alternative, but imo its very unreliable, unlike holy claymore, considering the drop of course

In PoR i was anxious of lag, it didnt went "so bad" in the end, but here its a serious trouble already in first rooms and first souls... witch lead me to think like moozooh, if you make a run with 0.9.2 already, dont over do it, next year whith less-lags versions it wont sync for sure

Yeah i tested something similar, it went slightly slower, due mainly to more backtrack needed, alltought yeah i guess its more easier for you (speed up is not "that" fast within a tas, aiming for fastest time any%) Your time is pretty good for a human run, hum, over 2min is gigantic boost actually :p I was sure this was also the right way for unassisted (SG up to double jump room...), klmz contributed much to find this (i think he pointed me that first boss is skipable, and i went farther and skiped second boss as well) Do you realy need raging fire? seriously in the tas im playing this real time since it doesnt affect hip hp :p (ok, its not 60fps but still lol) If you keep on pressing fast attack/switch buttons (when death/drac are given you a breath) you should gain time over previous strategy i believe Remember that anyway the final sword will beat my run, its the "ultimate" route Edit: You forgot "Activate Great Stairway Warp (near sandy grave)" just after you get double jump

I agree with lag comment Its not because many others run can get submited after this one, that it should be rejected, rather talk about that when those are here in workbench, for now theres just 1 Yes vote from me, just extrem pwnage, i think i didnt understand half of the movie, or what was glitchs (beside obvious one with sagat), the fights are fast and you do over 99 hit combo... to me it look god like playing so its easy yes

Watched this long ago Castlevania ? Yes vote mandatory... given its optimized and fast route then anyway a no/meh would make no sence Its not the most entertaining castlevania ever... i can agree largely... i hate it actually... but that mainly because i hate how they made money selling twice the same cartdrige with a new set of texture and 2 bugs fix... so it has nothing to do realy with the game but rather with konami marketing district Now that been sayd, you cant refuse a castlevania with the entertainement argument, imo, that realy ... bad argument Castlevania2 sux in all ways you can look at it, still its a good TAS, regardless warps ect... technicaly its realy inferior game to the first Castlevania4 for many people sux too (but i think none of em buyed it back in 91 lol) When it come to castlevania, i think the entertainement argument should be took appart, like for mario or zelda, those games was hit back then and still have large audiance of fans, so its kinda not enought for me to reject it entertainement wise Alltought, why not ungrue the cornel run? They both deserve it edit: is theres even a cornel run actually? cant find it :/ If someone get to the hassle to finish U version with cornel, then whe can do henry and obsolete this one, doesnt sound troublesome to me to accept this now and obsolete later because this is J

I downloaded it this morning, the file inside the zip say may 30 (timestamp), when running it in the about menu it say "compiled: May 30 2009 16:26:25" I second you on that, who knows how many build was made... considering its not posted here its somewhat troublesome to identify a new release Doesnt sound troublesome to me to have a seperate build number from mainbranch for this emulator like for most others, start by the start, 0.0.1 0.0.2 ect... :p

No, and it make no sence to me, i just copied it dumbly (fuz last file) So its when you download the file you corrupt it, i have no idea how tought Yeah its leg. axe sorry, not bonk (you are successfull to confuse me ! LOL... anyway i dont even have that game haha)

I did granzort, remember? so you already have one of my file ;) If you have 666 files, it mean i was correct... stop searching further... You know how to use command line, probly, and this is not an insult to say to you to double check coz there is like 99.99% chances the problem is there Im sure if you try just a little more youll make it trought 666 file = unreconized movie argument Its very sensitive on quotes ect... try to change your path and files name to shorter ones (and remove spacing), also try to use relative path (i know your not suppose to... but anyway) I just noticed you use quotes on the movie itself, wrong idea imo, clean your emu path and dont use quotes on the -mov argument

That would be tedious to say the least, it also mean long watching when you replay the file (me), with totaly out of the current movie content, for short thats sound boring to me Well, i guess in last resort if desmume doesnt get the update, witch i hope will not happen, i rather think(hope) its going to happen soon

Well, then i can just confirm the problem doesnt come from him and that his movie files are ok (does contain input...) and do replay here I didnt went to check if they sync tought, since apparently its not realy the trouble here I do wonder how you did for draculaX since NO movie file was ever posted, only youtube links... (the topic is in this forum) It was made with a custom mednafen that wasnt public apparently, actually im whilling to do this game soon, so i looked to get paul_t movie and its not possible to replay it even if i had it Edit: you checked for the 666 file ? (try to look your directory when you start replay)

The way you map keys doesnt matter In the movie file its not map keys who are recorded, its Down/Up/I/II ect... nothing point out a keyboard key (or nobody could watch anything.) Theres only 2 runs so far, bonk & dragon egg If you meant dragon egg work but not bonk, it might not come from the file of fuzzerd, but simply from you I dont have the rom of that game of course, alltought, i can clearly see the input of the file (last one in thread) when i replay it So anyway theres no bug or whatever, its not coming from mednafen I personnaly think you are doing something wrong with the command line and that you dont load the movie at all, that probably the only way to trigger a "zero" movie (reading at mednafen doc it seem logic, if you dont give a movie it will create a dummy one, with a 666 extension, with no input) How do you exactly run this? trough command line or a bat ? if you was on command line i suggest to make a bat so you can correct mistake more easly Heres mine

Note that you need to use quotes for long names including spaces and shit, and no quotes for files name that are less exotic and more standart (only the bios contain space in that exemple) Fuz: try not to use special character in movie files name('), obviously you need to type that name manually, so try to keep it short and easy for others ;) just my 2cents advice

That was unexcepted but your probably right, your not enought powerfull for killing it just with 1 axe, would require something else, they have 16HP

Maria is kinda slow compare to richter, she have MP, and her superjump drain MP, she also got 3 jump like superjupi underlined, alltought, this is a problem for TAS and sux, since you need to "waste" your jumps before having the dive kick The floor dash is ok, and should be as much like richter (or better even), the only con here is it does less damage than richter i think No hydrostorm obviously :( Maria dont have airdash, but she got a "flying kick" technique, just run + kick I think this go faster than airdash, but its less convenient too, youll end up way above your starting position, unlike airdash where you end just 1 pixel under your start position, mean you can predict where you land and directly floor dash again, with maria it seem impossible to do such, and you need a floor to repeat the move, its not "air" ability Its not going to be easy to optimize Ah, btw, i could make the movie sync fine on r231, it require adjustements (swap Up for Down) but its oki, ill edit first post latter and put both files Say thx to paul_t he fixed some sprite stuff for SOTN apparently :p The running animation is better (more accurate emulation at least) Gods are with us on this, so ill proceed right away to work on maria :D Play It Hard! Edit:eternaljwh: 2 extra level (x2 castles..) and few more items (most suxy tought), bugs are responding differently in general but are working, a good chunk of them dont work tought, like anything related with wolf Theres exactly 100 extra rooms (1890vs1990) minus 6 if you count the unfinished underground on psx as "real" (1896 then)

A little demo using revision 202 of yabause-rr You can have sound enable or turn off, this will also sync on revision 214 Its not optimized to the most, but its quite good i think The Movie Xvid Encode On Youtube FAQ: *How can i obtain Yabause-RR? (NITM) Im an adept, one of my favorite game, its better on psx but its always nice to play it regardless the system *Why did you picked up richter and not maria ?!? dude!!!!!! Few reasons, first maria is reserved for yabause release, so it dont spoil my real movie, second there is pirate_sephiroth's run witch basicly gived me all needed tactics (here youtube), and lastly, richter have the coat he wear as a boss in psx version ! (alternate costume) *Hum... The sound?!? It seem theres a bit of problems with the sound, yeah, i think everybody should notice playback is too slow, or too "low" or whatever *Red Hydrostorm ?!? Yeah wtf, probably emulation issue *Menus?!? Yeah same, the start menus are all fuck up, sprite are not aligned or wrong set is displayed *PSX run is 1 min faster, you sux Not realy, first richter move slower apparently and have shorter airdash, secondly the load times are longer (a lot) and lastly, there is more load spots (chapel/keep) Those who know the game also know the legendary slowyness of this version :p More seriously this is gruefood, sort of proof of concept, nothing more, hope youll enjoy :D In game timer at the last save room - 6:10

Yeah you have no other choice but to start from zero sram for now I beated up castlevania Portrait Of Ruin but considering whe cant include sram for now, it mean its not possible to tas the secondary modes, sisters, maria&richter, or simply boss rush, even if my movie gets accepted and that its valid to unlock them, its not possible atm

I wont blame you, actually, you already did an amazing job, i could tas re3! :D Alltought, if i wasnt as much broken i am now, i would bounty pay whoever implement fm2 format for pcsx lol, this is the only thing i can think off that would slightly enhance the rerecording capicitys aside from cosmetic problems (display of hack keys and alike... not very important), even if it mean to have seperate states and memcard (witch isnt a trouble user side)
