Ok, this mean it wasnt working in pcsx-rr, afaik they wont fix the core further on, so this is basicly a dead end, game is not compatible. Sorry. (cross fingers for later releases eventually!)

Like i just sayd, set hotkeys (in PCSX-RR, not PSXjin), youll have to USE them obviously or things are not going to work. Looking forward if you can make it _farther_ than with psxjin.

Ok let me explain what you "should" do now. Open pcsx-rr (1.3 preferably), record a movie, set hotkey "irq/spu hack" (somehow i remember one affect that game) and see if the bug is avoided by using one of those keystroke. If it does work, then report us so the spu can be fixed for that game. No guarantee this will work btw, or that you have a good dump.

Well this run is realy outdated, its one of the oldest run on the site, I would rather wait an obsoletion (Im whilling to do it, but got little time for it at the moment).

There is a mute sound option now, thats all you need :D Dont worry for desyncs, now when you make a savestate its much more "safe" than with pcsx, its always good to check your movie is still sync, but since states are more robust you should have no troubles.

I think you can control "only" 2 person at a time, but with help of the debug mode you can change totaly the level design, i think the debug mode would be suited only for doing a playaround. As for the video up there, personnally i wouldnt be going for max speed but max score instead. Also the item to provide more speed (stage2 iirc) is only obtainable from max score.

Theres a few in the marble gallery, but they are _far_ away, i havent timed it but very unlikely to worth going for. Spellbooks are giving me 1000$ (1 boomerang) per kill, then theres those magic book giving 2000$ per kill. So overall i doubt theres anything faster than that. It cost me 2425 frames to gather the 12000$ (about 40 seconds). Im not realy in the mood to redo 50 times my movie, so for the sake of simplification, im getting the 12 boomerang now, it might save nothing or just 5 seconds, but it will look much more awesome without long wolf climbing. Later on when i feel like it, ill try with 6 boomerangs instead, it may go a bit faster (in the long term...). (I want to underline here this is quite impossible to predict with precision what could happen or not, since im not same level ect... so it would be dumb to go for 6 now and later on find 12 is better, i prefer the other way around for my own sanity)

The time attack screen says 29sec, ill take a picture of it later on. The last save room is 11:10.

Link to video Comments are welcome :D Edit: the final time is actually 13:55 after fixing wolf climbing and using medusa shield on dracula. While rewatching this i figured a new route, in order to eliminate the wolf climbing at the end, but some research is going to be required. The only way for alucard to move vertically faster with the relics he have are fireboomerangs, theres a bug with them (i use in 100% one time...) Link to video At first look its still not worthy because im using it while grounded, but klmz once told me he managed to do that trick mid-air, wich mean _after_ a double jump, so the height gain would be amazing in that case and sufficiant to cross shaft pit. Ive timed the first section climbing about 30seconds, and the second one about 20seconds. Im getting 2000$ before library, and the spellbooks can drop 1000$ bags, im not sure yet wether 6 or 4 boomerangs are required, but they worth 1000$ per. I think it should be possible to farm the books for 2000$ or 4000$ warranting the longest climbing, 6000$ or 10000$ sound like a lot tho, so maybe the last climbing cant be avoided. If that route was to become reality, it would realy save a bunch of time. Theres also the inverted keep where i use a little the wolf rise, but, its only 5 morphs long, so it probly doesnt worth the money investisment. Dirty sram is required btw, or the librarian would trigger a (very long...) dialogue otherwise, im not even sure if he would sell fire boomerangs in a fresh file. edit: preview of what it look for real Link to video

Given many of us have an account since 2008 or so, realy i think theres no need to scare people, if konami had a trouble with anything, all our accounts would be deleted since a while by now. (it detect also castlevania and many other stuffs) So hmmm, it may as well never change.

Hmmm, does anybody here considered the pause glitch video was made with pcsx-rr and this may be why it sound so bad ? (and sry if i missed that argument...) Its very likely in psxjin the sound may be better when using that glitch.

I have simillar experience than adelikat, Castlevania Chronicles was freezing on start screen with pcsx-rr, now it work fully on PSXjin. Yet i realy doubt it does emulate the 2400 psx games, actually whatever emu claiming it is bullshit, unless you have all isos and a lot of free time for testing everything. Oh, and noticably, in SOTN the sound now is _WAY_ better than in pcsx-rr.

The big problem (I have?) with this is simple, if we are to allow that then its open floodgate of hell for having _any_ game patched and rerun. Imagine mario nes without pipe glitch and stuffs like that, i think it would become dull run and not very impressive/fun. Of course you guys are not speaking of mario, you have good reasons ect... Just saying this should not set a precedent, having this as a hack category sound reasonable solution imo. (this doesnt mean we forcably need first a no-hack run, i think) Note: AFAIK, the game dont go over the "intro" (first battle)? even in psxjin (im not totaly sure on that last bit) ? kinda settle the issue if the game is not supported at all

If you are lucky enought, maybe youll be able to get back some of the old run by hexing (now movies are in text format also, thats allow easy hex). Dont ask me for a date on release tho, i realy have no idea, theres so many stuffs to fix it feel like theres no end. All i can say is its going to be _soon_ (less than a month).

Recording had major bugs that are fixed in the incoming new release, lua got some fixes as well, but actually the whole software was overhaul and fixed. (we are speaking of hundreds of fixes here, easly) Sadly as i write this its not _totally_ ready, but if anything realy i would recommand to wait for it, your attempting a movie with 4cd and over 5 hours long, personnally i would not trust pcsx to do such a project. (its well know the cd changer code is fart) I can confirm already that the spu timing have changed, so old pcsx movies wont sync.

voting adelikat, even if its outside the competition he did #2571: adelikat's Lynx Gordo 106: The Mutated Lab Monkey in 08:37.55, and hes always on the edge for new systems.
