Ha ha, no, I'm not playing at 100%. I'm playing at about 15% usually, sometimes a bit slower if something is ridiculously hard. Are you saying I should start the whole thing over? Because I can do that if you really want me to.

Well, I've finished Zero's path, and now I'm starting on X's. W00t w00t. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/950/mmxt2.vbm

1. I wasn't thinking. The WIP actually does end before Overdrive Ostrich. Oops. 2. I made a huge mistake in Blast Hornet's level, so I redid everything since then. This new WIP ends at the beginning of Gareth/Berkana stage 1. (or it would if I could upload it right now.) 3. What mini-uploader thing?

That's fine though, because that's how most people play it normally. Or me, anyway.

New WIP. I've redone the first two levels. Ends before the battle with Blast Hornet. http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=67415

I liked this run. However, I think it would have been more entertaining to use the L/R thrust move less and the swing move more, unless of course that slows down the movie a lot. Voted 'yes'.

Personally, I liked this video best when you switched between pwning and being pwned. If someone were to try to improve this, I think they could perhaps float between 1st and 8th place, finishing 1st in the end, of course. But a pretty good video. Not so much when you get very very pwned, even though you win anyway. I vote 'yes', mostly because this game doesn't have one yet.

It desyncs for me in the second level, and the config file is vanished...

How about doing a Somari run? I want to see that.

hehe, it'd be quite funny if there was a way to get from the minus world directly to 8-4 and suddenly you can complete the game in about one and a half minutes ;)
In the FDS version, you can actually complete world -1 and go all the way to world -3, then the game ends as if you had rescued the princess. Someone should do a hard mode run using this trick.

I tried to, but it doesn't work. It doesn't even play. EDIT: Wait, no, I'm thinking of a different sml2 movie.

Hmmm... It would be nice to have a run that plays all secret/optional levels without using the pipe glitch from V1.0.
The pipe glitch? I don't know really any glitches for this game.

I don't know if hitting the middle bell is a terribly interesting goal, but you could do it. Just make sure it doesn't slow down the level you're in compared to not ringing it.
That was the plan. I only hit the middle bells to be more interesting than running underneath them.

I watched your run, and it's okay, but there are faster ways to do some things. Remember that if you jump against the lower-right corner of a block, it will push you a couple of pixels ahead.
Really? I have to try that sometime.

And there were places where you turned around and lost speed when I know you could have avoided doing that.
All I can remember is that one pirahna plant in the introduction level, and I know that jumping clear over it will slow down jumping over that hill right afterwards. Of course, that doesn't mean I can't improve...

Also, you could probably make better use of the tree sap in Tree Zone 2. You generally want to be in the sap for as short a time as possible, although it gets trickier for the high jumping and falling segments. Just try to "cut the corners" as smoothly as you can.
Yeah, that's not nearly as good as I would like it to be.

I'm not sure where the best places to get the power-ups are... I'd have to play again to find out.
Neither am I, but I think that my choice worked pretty well.

I've started a run. The plan is to get all middle bells unless they're really out of the way, and to clear all levels. Of course, now I need to find out about the cool glitches so I can tell where to use them... http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=55251

That's weird, it desynced after you switched to Zero. Now I'm confused...

But do you collect enough Souls on the way to buy those things?
That's the point of playing through Zero's path first, Souls carry over if you save at the end. [EDIT (because I don't want to double-post):] New WIP. I have officially started from Zero's path. http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=51067

That's what I meant by "Real Ultimate Buster". Does that mean it would be better to skip the Shuryoken and Hadoken? Meaning I should start over and go through Zero's path first?

I was thinking of doing a run of Mega Man Xtreme 2. The idea is to run through both mini-paths and then Extreme Mode. My main point here is, would it be more entertaining to get Shuryoken and Hadoken on X's path or to skip the Head part and use the "Real Ultimate Buster"? Would a run with 3 playthroughs even be entertaining at all? http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=50659 <---The WIP, in case you didn't automatically know that. I was thinking of scrapping this and starting with Zero's path, but of course that would be moot if I decided not to get the "Real Ultimate Buster" on X's path. And for Extreme Mode, should I mainly play as X, Zero, or some equal combination?

I'm using a new version of VBA, but I haven't actually gotten far enough to know if the problem even exists. But I don't have a clue where I would find a BIOS...

Okay, to not freeze at Harhall you need a BIOS. And what exactly is a BIOS and where do I get one? Or do I not need to "get" one? I've sort of already started the run, see, and I would like to not have it freeze halfway through.

The thing that bothers me most about this hack is the ridiculous number of minibosses - either he really liked boom-boom or he couldn't figure out a better way to end the levels.
I think that was simply the easiest way to prevent people from getting cards/panels.

I feel I should mention that the fire flower status is just a pallete swap. So is Luigi. And Firey Luigi.

In theory, someone could write a program that makes AVI movies from emulator movies and the appropriate ROM...but there isn't one yet--to my knowledge.

I find final boss battles to be the best part of most games, but here are some that stand out for me: 1) Giygas in EarthBound. The music for the first part is AWESOME. 2) Ganon(dorf) in Zelda WW. A swordfight. 'Nuff said. 3) (SPOILER) in Tales of Symphonia. "Disappear..." 4) Ganon in Zelda OOT. Another swordfight. Again, 'nuff said. 5) The FinalHazard in Sonic Adventure 2. Flying. Through space. As Super Sonic/Shadow. 6) The Doomsday Robot (or whatever it's called) in Sonic and Knuckles. Again, flying through space as Super Sonic. But no Shadow yet. 7) King K. Rool in DKC. Awesome music, and the Kredits fakeout isn't bad either.
