I would love to speak some japanese to play this game, it looks quite entertaining, maybe ill learn some day. Nice run and fast paced RPG, the non linear sequence of events makes it very TAS-able.

I played this excentric game as a kid, i enjoyed it a lot i remember... i guess even a weird game can be enjoyed when you have rented it for a full weekend. I liked the run, i couldn't dechipher some parts that seemed avoidable to me, but im just guessing. By the way... nice glitches. yes here!.

You need to improve the lag reduction using more efficiently both characters, it seems that the second character is not active enough, he is just eager to die, If you make him kill more enemies the lag will decrease a lot, on the long run, you will earn frames and seconds eventually. The hunger for destruction of the character has a very nice side effect, improves the entertainment factor (level five of your movie is a good example of this). (one character runing like hell + one character killing like crazy = less lag, more gore) it looks quite good but i think you could improve it, that's why i vote meh.

This is by far, the MOST ENTERTAINING TAS MOVIE i have ever seen, i don't seem to find any fair enough comments about this piece of work and creativity. AWSOME is just the word to describe it . I invited some friends some months ago, and while we where waiting to have both wireless controllers fully charged, i showed em the NES version of this run, I must say, i will invite them over again to watch this one, i know they will love it (they felt blow minded, but we could not finish watching the movie because we had some kind of version problem), anyway, it will be a great M.A.M.E. night with this beautiful movie as an appetizer. Thanks for your great work.

Impressive. As a kid i hated this game cause i never quite understood what in god's name was meant to be done to finish it, and now, after watching this new run, i still don't get it. even so, i love this run. YES of course. in my country i would say it this way: Esta de poca madre!!!!!!!

I've had this exact problem with the stock 2.12 and 2.14 as well as the "movie 9" versions for months. It does change the bit depth of my desktop from 32 to 16, but it sits on "Gens - Idle" in the title bar with a white window and no menu. Starting it from 16 bit doesn't help. There isn't a gens.cfg file in the directory, and it fails to create one like it should. Putting one there doesn't help.
well, at least now, i don't feel alone in this world with my problem, i hope that somebody will come with an answer someday.

nice and enjoyable run, no need for any "frame speed up" during play to avoid boring or repetitive scenes , YES for sure.

i never had this problem before, im trying to start gens like i normally do, but i get nothing, it doesn't even show the tv noise that normally appears when there's no rom loaded, it shows just an empty window that is not responding. i have changed my display drivers (downgraded them in fact) but nothing changes, i did my driver and registry cleaning perfectly, but i still can't get GENS to work, i've tried the official release but i got the same problem with that too. what in this world is happening?
It sounds like Gens is somehow failing to set the bit-depth properly. Try changing your display settings to 16-bit color and see if that does anything.
i already did that but nothing seems to help, and i couldn't find any info in the net, damn i hate when this happens.

Try to change the rendering in Gens. I recall that worked for me when I ran windows back in the days. :)
i can't change any settings because gens freezes at the very start, is there any other way to fix this?

absolutely entertaining stuff! the fact that you never have your health too low avoids the nasty energy alarm, thanks a lot for that! i enjoyed the run a lot more that way. Since this movie has been already published i guess voting isn't important right now, but a gigantic yes is what it deserves. Congratulations!.

I enjoyed it, but there seemed to be so many places where you took damage and it appeared avoidable and didn't seem to save any time. That's my only real gripe, however, good job! That must've been a nightmare to make (no pun intended).
yes, sometimes i took damage on propose to avoid further problems with this and that enemy, but you need to look at it slowly to see it more clearly.

it has its moments, it could be polished a lot. Meh here.
not really. can you point out what you think was sloppy?
i could mention the second flying scene (around frame 65600), you decided to play it almost always attached to the highest point of the sky, and that doesn't look good at all. is just my opinion, don't take it personally.

Thanks for your comments and your votes, this is the kind of thing that pays off the effort of doing the movie. I would love to see this movie improved some day, i did my best but im sure it can be upgraded. One problem i got while doing it, is that, if you make a mistake and don't notice it soon, you'll end up having to start over again, because if you add or subtract even a little piece of movement, you lose the whole work, believe me, i tried it. let's see what happens with this version! i hope it gets published, and if it doesn't, at least you all enjoyed it, and that's enough for me.
