Ok thanks for the advice, i was thinking under 2 hours as well, but i like to get everything when i run this game in real time so it takes me 4-6 hours, so i was unsure how long a tas would be. Thanks for pointing out a WIP as well, looking through 23 pages for information is a hard thing to do lol. Just watched it and wow! It gave me a lot of good ideas, thanks for pointing that out! Just a few questions: Is it possible to countinue recording from a video that has already been started, so i dont have to do the whole game in one sitting? How do you walk arcoss the pits without falling into them?

Here is a little WIP (thats what its called i think) i put togehter tonight. Its up until the end of the first dungeon, in about 10 minutes and 38 seconds. I'm sure there is a few problems with it but overall its pretty good id say. This run was played on visualboyadvance 1.9.3 for all of you using the vbm file, and it was played on Zelda: Oracle of seasons (U) [!]. Here is a download for the .zip file. The zip comes with the Avi, and the vbm file. Download here (scroll down and click on free, then wait for the download to start):http://rapidshare.com/files/86673233/Oracle_of_Seasons_WIP.zip.html I don't have school next thruday or friday, so on friday im going to try a complete TAS of seasons. I've got the stradigy guide ,so i can cut out all of the crap (compass and that stuff) and use just the fastest way to pass the dungeon. I'm hoping this will be under 2 hours, but most likely 2 and a half to 3 (we'll see though).

Well still nothing on the save states. If save states dont work right yet this run is impossible to TAS (because it wont be the fastest it can be).

Some good stuff in there, ill have to keep that in mind, thanks for posting it. The save states problem is still largely holding me back from going any father with the run, because it freezes a lot.

Im begining (pardon my spelling) a playthrough so i can write a guide out for the fastest way, since i dont remember much of the game because i havn't played it in 3 years. A few questions: 1. Is it worth getting the fire flower at the start of the game? 2. Is it worth getting the sleepy sheep at the start of the game? 3. Are star peices worth the time? 4. Is the hammer throwing badge worth the time? It also seems that save states dont work randomly, causing me to reset the rom and loading a different save state. If i made a run and it did this my movie would be screwed.

Well got it to run on mupen guys. On my Nvida Geforce video card the direct64 v0.5 ALPHA runs it perfectly (well almost). There is no more flashing (i mean it, none) but around mario and every character there is a black or brown box, but ill take that over flashing anyday. Here is an avi of me running it (to download scroll down and click on free, then wait for it to start):http://rapidshare.com/files/86135587/paper_mario.avi.html

Does anyone know how you could fix the video problems in paper mario or how to fix the menu problems in zelda? Just wondering if a new input was devloped if it would fix both of these problems.

Any reasons why with mupen it does this? Because on my xbox emu it runs fine (little flash every 5 minutes or so) using the same rom.

Ya i should study up on glitches for this game, seeing as the run you saw is the same run ive used since i was 4 years old on the NES (of course not as fast). Im pretty sure you can jump into a spot on 1-2 that allowes you to walk through the wall to the warp zone.

Im attempting to beat the current record of the game, but it most likely wont happen lol. Anyways, can any of you guys see why this run is 1 minute behind the current record? (I can't get the fcm file to run on my Rom). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TEYdeYFNB8

After watching the 0 star run yet again (love it) i got to thinking. Instead of going through the 8 star door, why not go through the key door. Then when you walked through the door it would load the stairs going to the 2nd story would it not? Now i cant even test this because i cant do the lobby glitch but i was wondering if it would work, because it would shave 2-3 minutes off of the run.

Ya id say get rid of time the limit and just play the games as fast as you can then see how long it took.
