You can't really go outside the cave after you use the soda barrel. You have to quickly use all the items you need, otherwise if you dont do it in time, or go somewhere else, the game triggers a cutscene, and you'll have to go and get another barrel and do the whole thing all over again.

Ok, so there might be a considerable time save in Mission 4. You're able to fix the Gift Shop in two methods. Either by using a giant balloon, of by using a soda barrel. And, the soda barrel method might be faster. This was pointed out to me by Randomno from the CP Speedrunning Discord. I haven't really tested it much more in depth but I skip a cutscene, getting the balloon (and ask a penguin to lend me one), the helium to inflate the balloon (you have to ask G for it), and having to go to the Town Center while I can go to the cave and fix the Gift Shop right away instead, to then go to the Boiler Room where Herbert is. The downsides are that I have to do an extra microgame with said barrel, I may have to use the wrench gadget once, get the pegs from the Sports Shop instead of the Gift Shop (which is slower) and I have to go to the Ski Village to get said pegs. I need to test this out, but I have the feeling it really is faster and might be the motivating factor I needed for a new TAS of the game! :D

Sucks that the Shindou edition still doesn't work on Bizhawk.
But I just tested the Shindou version on BizHawk, and it works... ._.

Impossible due hardware: - Famicom 2P controller has no start button, but the console accepts it. Example: [2840] NES Atlantis no Nazo by exposure in 02:20.12
Remember that the A/V Famicom exists, which has the same controller ports as the NES.

This Flash game is based on the popular YouTube series Battle For Dream Island (Again), it's part of the fifth episode and it's a puzzle platformer with an in-game timer. Here's the speedrun.com page: https://www.speedrun.com/bfdia Here's also a theory "TAS" of the 100%: Link to video As you can tell, it's not a real TAS, but it's a pleasant surprise regardless that this game even has speedruns in the first place. Any%: Link to video

I honestly think the Crash 2 run should be starred instead of Crash 3. For one it's shorter, and does not beat the same level twice which bored me personally.

The "unofficial game" category is missing in the publication.

So apparently the Spanish text is the fastest text in this game. https://www.speedrun.com/The_SpongeBob_SquarePants_Movie_GBA/thread/dafua I don't know if it's any faster on a TAS since you have to select the language first at the start of a TAS timed run. It seems a cutscene is missing on the non English versions as well.

Hey, if you're interested in this game, good luck! The run can be synced back to BizHawk, since it's "only" 1 stage, but I had trouble on the first menu last I checked.
I'm actually working on SuperSponge. I posted this video as a guide just in case anyone wants to work on this game someday, also I've been posting in many Spongebob threads because I'll forget to post them for another 3 years if I didn't.

There isn't really a full game run of this game yet, but there is a run of the 1st chapter at least... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNvqVNKc674 EDIT: Link to video Full run exists now

This version of Nicktoons Racing has a surprising speedrun community behind it. People like abney317 (of Mario Kart 64 fame) has done some really optimal runs of the game and individual tracks: https://www.speedrun.com/Nicktoons_Racing_GBA Here's a full run of all the cups (in easy): Link to video And here's one in hard: Link to video And heres a poor attempt at me tasing the game from a few years back: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/64243003363175394[/video]
