2019 saw a substantial shift for TAS content at events with far more events than previous years. It also saw a major uptick in Twitch, YouTube, and Patreon income with a transition to very few direct donations. The bottom line is I spent $36,144.73 across all TAS related expenses against $15,098.78 in TAS related income for a loss of $21,045.95 in 2019. Yes, that's right, I spent $21k more than I made in 2019 in support of TAS content at charity events. On the other hand, that effort helped raise over $282k for various charities in 2019 and I have no regrets. I could use your support whether it's throwing me a Twitch Prime subscription or Patreon support but I will continue to serve the community as best I can regardless. I don't anticipate every year being quite like this one. I feel it's important to show what expenses I had for each event inclusive of 2019 (meaning costs for AGDQ 2019 airfare purchased in 2018 are not reflected here and so on):

Note that I made a donation of $567.89 during AGDQ 2019 but I had a PayPal balance from 2018 I used for the purpose. It didn't hit my bank account so it wasn't in my financial tracking software and doesn't appear in the chart but if anything it represents an additional expense. Desert Tesla Charity Drive expenses were folded into RPG Limit Break. MAGWest Go ("MWGO" above) involved the purchase of a substantial amount of equipment but most of it was general equipment as described below. Throughout the year I had a number of expenses that were unrelated to specific events, mostly equipment purchases but there were also a lot of legal fees:

I used $10,000 of personal funds from savings (plus a server worth $350) as the initial funding for a dedicated checking account with Beneficial State Bank, a bank that caters to the needs of social benefit entities who do not have profit as their primary goal. ToolAssist will eventually offer donation tracking services to charities and is thus separate from TASBot in its scope. Prior to establishing the dedicated bank account I incurred $3,975.90 in legal fees and server equipment (not counting the $10k plus $350 additional server previously mentioned). Expenses from the dedicated account including legal fees, data backup, and service fees total $5,587.13 in expenses. Total expenses were $9,563.03. The company made no income. Combining all three expense categories comes up to $36,144.73. That was offset by streaming income (along with PayPal donations that totaled $768 but were entirely offset by PayPal balance purchases outside the visibility of my financial tracking software and thus not reflected here but it's a wash so I'm not too concerned). Here's a breakdown of TAS related income in 2019:

+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Over the course of 2019 I received $15,098.78 in streaming related income (this does not include my day job wages - I was laid off from my job of 10+ years in 2019 but acquired a new job 3 months later and my day job income helped offset the net loss). I started a Patreon in the fall of 2019 but there were no disbursements until 2020 so there is no revenue recorded. In summary, I had $36,144.73 in total expenses against $15,098.78 in income for a net loss of $21,045.95 in 2019. I consider it an investment as I acquired a lot of very useful equipment such as a new sound board, new capture equipment, and other gear like consoles that were used during MAGWest Go along with equipment that will be reused for DTCD. The ToolAssist investment will hopefully one day both help charities track donations and bring in income and is worth doing. I spent the money knowing what I was getting into and I have no regrets at all. I'll be providing a 2020 transparency report a whole lot earlier in the year now that I have proper tracking of expenses. I am more than willing to break out transactions for anyone who is interested (edit: I broke out the majority of the tech purchases above but let me know if you have any other questions). Thank you again for all of the support over the years getting to this point - a $21k loss while seeing $282k raised for charity is absolutely a win in my book and the future for growth looks bright.

I'm very proud to say that TAS content at various charity events helped raise over $282k in 2019 for causes including Doctors Without Borders, the Prevent Cancer Foundation, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Child's Play, and Alzheimer's research in Sweden among others. In the last year we've done BBCB, AGDQ, DTCD, RPGLB, SGDQ, ESA, and MAGWest Go charity events along with auxillary events like Rocket Beans' Speedrundale show, Bot Bash / BattleBots appearances, and several podcast appearances to boost awareness. It's been incredible. I may never be able to repeat that much volume of content in one year and that's OK. I can't say thank you enough for everyone from the TASVideos community who tirelessly worked on content and helped make this possible. This was an incredible achievement and I'm thrilled to have been a part of something so much bigger than myself, or rather, so much bigger than any one person could have done on their own. This truly was a team effort encompassing multiple communities well beyond TASVideos itself. Here's to 2020 and beyond! Speaking of 2020 and beyond, we're quickly approaching two major events - MAGFest (see the Guest page for TASBot at https://super.magfest.org/guests-2020/tasbot) and AGDQ 2020 (https://GamesDoneQuick.com). Plenty of last-minute arrangements are in play for MAGFest but for once I feel good about AGDQ content currently scheduled for January 10th. Why? It has a lot to do with TiKevin83 stepping up to organize content for the event. I will in fact be able to be on site for the event thanks to some creative plane ticket wrangling and a TASBot Discord member providing a free place to stay but the only part I'll be playing is the intro and outro. I'll be highlighting that the general TASing community is much bigger than just me as a person and I'll be giving TiKevin83 his chance to shine. MAGFest 2020 content is a lot less organized and we're still in the last minute preparations phase but if you're in the Washington, DC area you should definitely come check out what we have planned. I'll be giving a panel talk (which might end up being different than what it says it is in the MAGFest guidebook) and I'll also be participating in a trivia round for fun. The slightly awkward part of all this is I'll also be doing an autograph session where anyone who wants to can get a picture with TASBot in his current form, possibly the last chance anyone will have before we redesign him without any Nintendo components as part of the "#tasbot-x" project. (Stay tuned for more on that as prototype plans advance or swing by Discord.TAS.Bot and have a glance in the aforementioned channel.) Finally, MAGFest includes a charity event called MAGFast where we'll be trying a variety of more dangerous things than we'd be willing to attempt at a GDQ event. Tune in at https://www.magfast.org/ January 2-5 to see it happen live. Discussions about events are still happening in #tasbot on Freenode IRC but the TASBot Discord server has become the primary place where we're organizing event content. There's very healthy involvement from a wide variety of people both in and out of the TASVideos community and I'm happy to see the momentum. As an aside, I've moved on to a new career as a Senior Security Analyst at Bishop Fox. I'm still working out what work life balance looks like but it has been a good fit and there is a strong possibility of Bishop Fox sponsoring a future event in 2020 and beyond. It's a different season but an exciting one. Thank you to everyone who helped me bridge the gap when I was unemployed. Again, thank you to everyone who has helped keep TAS content at events alive. It's been an incredible time.

This is just a quick note to close out this thread; while Patreon has been extremely successful in helping defray travel costs to charity events it was nowhere near enough to support my family and I am happy to report that I am now a Senior Security Analyst at Bishop Fox. The stability is much appreciated. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped support me through various trials over the last several years - I couldn't have made it without you.

please do not do this, it will put in check the charity notion of your effort and is surely not sustainable, TASing is an extremely niche form of entertainment in many other subsets of niche forms of entertainment, you would also be monetizing other people's work indirectly
A couple things out of this: I'm currently not seeing the trajectory needed to go full time, and to be honest as of right now the Patreon commitments extended out for a full year aren't even able to cover the expenses I've had in the last few events. It's certainly *possible* to make a living on being, well, a content creator and curator, but it's not an easy existence. I would like to point out that I am as always in full compliance with the site's Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 licensing and have had internal discussions with others on staff. I'm attempting at all times to be above reproach. I do not believe there is any aspect that is putting the charity notions of the efforts in check as such a position is quite common in other fields. In essence, I'm not giving up on the possibility but we'll see how things play out. I have some opportunities I'm investigating in the meantime and I'm in a good frame of mind.

So I was laid off. I didn't see it coming and had been at the same place for the last 10 years. That substantially affects my remaining 2019 plans and at this time I'm no longer planning to attend AGDQ 2020 unless my funding shores up substantially. I've made a more detailed post at Thread #21256: Laid off; TAS content at charity events full time? Patreon? but the long and the short of it is that I've finally opened up a Patreon and could use your support at Patreon.com/dwangoAC. I'd like to thank everyone for the support in all of these events, especially SGDQ 2019 which was by far the best event we've ever done from a quality and results perspective. Thanks all.

TL;DR: I was laid off unexpectedly after 10+ years and I'm exploring showing TAS content at charity events full time by opening a Patreon page. I'm dwangoAC and I am on staff here at TASVideos as the site Ambassador. In that capacity I've led efforts to show TAS content from the site at charity events like Games Done Quick since 2014, helping raise over $700k for charity in the process but also racking up $15k in equipment and travel costs. I was recently laid off from my day job of the last 10+ years and I'm looking at the option of working on TAS content for charity events full time. To do so will require an enormous response, however, and I'm currently testing the waters at Patreon.com/dwangoAC to see if it's even viable. I'm at 10% of my goal as of now so I'm anticipating I will seek a new day job and use the funds I receive to help offset travel and equipment costs but if I hit my funding goal I will explore going full time. Full time means a lot more hours highlighting TAS content for all to see and promoting the community. There's a minor footnote here. There are a lot of people from this site who have given up a massive amount of their own time and resources and in many cases have spent their own money to support TAS content at GDQ and other charity events who are equally deserving of financial support. I recognize that rather by fate I'm now the primary representative of both TASVideos as well as the community that has formed around TASBot and has sharded off somewhat in the process. This has led to a continued imbalance where there may be some hurt feelings from some in this community by me even attempting to ask for money. Some TASVideos folks asked me to start a Patreon almost 5 years ago but now that I'm at a point of needing to do so to keep going I'm feeling just as awkward about asking for money as I always have. To anyone who might have hurt feelings about me even asking for money, please accept my apologies and know that I'm committed to ensuring everything I do is to the benefit of all who are interested in TAS content and that I'm doing everything in the best interests of helping raise money for a variety of charities. My best intentions are still going to mean I fail at times and I realize there's no possible way I can make such a diverse group of people all happy all the time but I'm committed to being honorable in what I do. If you're upset about how I've represented the community in the past please contact me personally or if warranted please feel free to open a separate thread. I'd prefer to keep this thread free from personal attacks or drama. Thanks for understanding. What will I do? I'll keep doing what I've been doing but without dipping into the red if nothing else. In the last 7 months I've attended 7 different events but my expense deficit was growing at a rate that was untenable without changes as it was. Suddenly being laid off makes that pressure even more unbearable, but with your help I'll continue to represent TAS content at AGDQ / SGDQ / GDQx, RPG Limit Break, ESA, MAGFest / MAGWest, and other charity events including events from the TASBot community like BBCB and DTCD as I am able. So, will you consider supporting me at Patreon.com/dwangoAC even if it's only a small pledge per month? TAS content at charity events in 2019 has helped raise over $280k and I'd love to see it continue to grow. Anything you can do to help me support that while also supporting my kids would be amazing. Thanks!

You're definitely not wrong, it's easy to gloss over things. Awesome finds you're making, based on ais523's analysis of what you said it sounds like this makes T:2003 definitely viable which is good. I've stepped away a bit from this but I'd love to get back to it sometime when we're able to do so. Thanks for continuing to investigate!

First, I've skimmed the thread to date and I think I have a grasp on all of the main points raised but if I've missed something please let me know. I cannot test console verification of this movie until someone comes up with a way to extract the raw button presses on a per-poll basis from SubNESHawk. Basically, we're currently using a (really basic) file format called .r08 to send a bitstream of data to a replay device. All of us struggle with it because the file on its own doesn't contain any information on various things that need to be known to attempt a console verification attempt, but that's a side conversation. The point is, I can't test this until I have something like that. I can confirm that the run we displayed at SGDQ 2016 is still functional so a sub second completion can absolutely be achieved on console. I have a very, very strong opinion on this subject that I have shared repeatedly and loudly: This run should *not* obsolete other content. This is, in my opinion, yet another example in a long line of recent examples of the need to rework our category system beyond the three tiers we have now. This is not a question of Vault or Moons, and everyone who is thinking in those terms is limiting themselves and trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. This doesn't fit neatly in anything that the site has now, and I insist yet again that we absolutely must move away from such a limiting system that excludes content that doesn't fit our carefully crafted mold. If we must shove this into an existing category I feel we should simply make it its own branch and allow it to stand. In summary, I have every belief that this run can be console verified and intend to prove that as soon as someone can provide me a file to test with, and I believe this run can and should be accepted into one of the existing categories even if it remains a strong example of why we need to take a long and hard look at better ways of handling categories so we can work past the absurdities that we keep forcing ourselves into in the name of purity.

We're still no closer to resolving the side debate about how to represent content that has now fractured off to communities like mkwtas.com and elsewhere but I need to set that conversation aside and get back to events. ESA is upon us! The flight is tonight and I don't have any idea how I'm going to get TASBot to fit in carryon luggage but by golly I'll make it happen *somehow*. Mirbro and I will be appearing at ESA on Friday, July 26th on the main stream showing SteamWorld Dig 2, VVVVVV, Dr. Mario, and SMB2. We have some presentation aspects to resolve for VVVVVV but thanks to help from Kilaye we should have solutions to everything. Note: Changing screen aspect ratios in SDW2 causes desyncs, don't do it. In addition to ESA we'll also be on Rocket Beans in Germany. I'm not yet sure what we will show there but it will probably be existing site content with an overall discussion of TAS'ing and console verification. Stay tuned for details of when that will air; we're only doing a recording session on Monday. Europe, here we come!

how about a ####EM page for each bit of content? (EM meaning Event Movie)
Oh, I don't think it matters much whether it's a different page name type or is a normal ###M page, the real question is if it shows up under per-game lists and all other site discovery features. Shoving things in a Wiki? Not really discoverable.

At the risk of offering a 'too simplistic' suggestion: Would it be possible/acceptable to simply add a page to the wiki (or a new tab on the Movie Page) that houses/publishes high quality videos of event content; even if that content doesn't go through the normal submission/judging/publication process?
We've discussed that aspect at length and the problem that keeps coming up is that anything that's a forum thread or a Wiki page isn't handled like the rest of the site, there's no ####M page for it to live at, it doesn't show up in searches, it doesn't show up in by game lists, it can't be filtered, it isn't categorized, etc. In essence, what you described is effectively what we already have today. What we need is something akin to how many other sites handle works of art with curation - top-level, searchable content, dedicated pages, that can be filtered and tagged appropriately.

So what makes this different?
This event is a bit different in that there's a bit more unease around the problem that the authors of the content don't have a way to even submit it to TASVideos. Yes, past events have used non-site content but in this case there's a bit more desire to try to resolve the problem. Treat everything as an attempt to allow the content we're showing to be better represented by TASVideos rather than trying to pull away from TASVideos.

If this goes on your personal YouTube account. I'll bring these questions out: What makes TASVideosChannel the hub that generates zero profit an outlier especially if this is the first time it's brought up? Is it because your slowly gaining the success on your personal account that you can finally take care of yourself, by having people go to your channel to watch a fully archived version of what the ambassador?
I'm not quite sure what you meant as that last sentence was dangling a bit but I'll try to take a stab at this with a series of somewhat disconnected sentences. GDQ gives runners permission to post their runs. My specific channel contains content that in some cases has nothing at all to do even with TASBot, such as the chat hacking videos or Desert Tesla Charity Drive content. GDQ derived content is a piece of the content on my channel but isn't all of it by any stretch, and likewise with TASVideos content. One thing that happens with the content on my channel is we tend to make it have a consistent look and feel, or perhaps you could call it a value add that we contribute. At this time my expenses are way higher than my income so talking about profit isn't really relevant just yet but I understand why you mention it.

Also cause one of the three TASes featured was Celeste "red berries" I'll just point this out. Even though the final version won't be the same. Celeste did get submitted 6 months after it was featured at SGDQ18 with some more optimizations to it. On a technical fault account Celeste can be ignored in not being content from TASVideos.
And herein lies the rub. For various reasons libTAS doesn't play well with Celeste and I can tell you from my own experience that the only way to get a clean encode (or honestly, even get it to sync) is to hack the daylights out of it by inserting dozens of pause frames in libTAS. The Celeste community has overwhelmingly preferred the custom built and quite good tools developed for the game and has no interest in attempting to use libTAS again. The Celeste-specific framework was summarily rejected and as such that content will likely never be on TASVideos as the site stands today. This is, in essence, the core problem I'm attempting to address here. TASVideos doesn't have this content and won't in the foreseeable future based on the current trajectory of the site and my goal is to try to correct that. In the meantime it's undeniable that this is *not* TASVideos content, regardless of anything that happened at past events that also wasn't fully from the site; this specific content is simply a bit more sensitive to all involved. Again, to say it until I'm blue in the face, my goal is to resolve this rift to allow this content to be represented on the site, not start arguments about what has and hasn't been site content in the past. As Warp pointed out in his post we've had repeated discussions about what the site has had on it in the past. He's not wrong, we're a site based on obsolescence chains using vetted emulators with a rigorous structure. Where we get into trouble is the subjectivity of something that can't be obsoleted, at which point I'd say that it's like any other specialized content site with user-generated content. Some of it will be crap. Some of it will be great. Some of it will be mixed based on subjective factors in the eye of the beholder. Obsoletion makes no sense in that context. If we wanted to put an artificial bar on the kinds of content shown there are a variety of things, such as "must have been shown at an event" or somesuch, but to be honest everyone already knows I'm an inclusionist that would rather see better filtering and categorization tools to allow the cream of the crop content to be highlighted similar to how we have stars tier, curated style. Ultimately, this comes down to a substantial shift that the site so far appears reticent to take on, one where user content that is Tool-Assisted art in and of itself can be submitted rather than limiting the focus of the site to just emulators. (The irony here is the goal of most every run on an emulator is to be as close as possible to the real hardware but when we do things on real hardware it suddenly becomes a bit too close to home and we find ourselves in this mess.) We need to either fix this by providing some way for this type of content to be represented on the site or site staff needs to make a decision that it will never be fixed with a statement of what that means but the status quo we're in now needs to be resolved.

You TASBot folks are clearly the spearhead of TAS development at this point, why not make a TASBot site to have a centralized place to showcase stuff? I think this might also help bring in more innovation from people who aren't really interested in making traditional TAS content to begin with.
I wouldn't say we're the spearhead of TAS development but we're certainly more willing than others to push the boundaries of what a Tool-Assisted Speedrun can be. We do have https://TAS.Bot and I intend to flesh it out but I have no interest in recreating all of the tools TASVideos provides there as it would, if anything, just shard off a community needlessly. I don't see a compelling reason to deliberately create distance between the two communities when it isn't necessary, on the contrary I'd like there to be a lot less "us and them" mentality if possible. The TAS content shown at events under the mascot of TASBot doesn't have to be distanced from TASVideos in my opinion. In other words, I'd much rather have TAS.Bot focus on announcing what the next event(s) are (switching to a live streaming video mode during events we run ourselves like Bot Bash Charity Brawl and Desert Tesla Charity Drive) and providing resources on the process of using replay devices while promoting the individual that is TASBot at his appearances at events. One note on that, I am TASBot's keeper but I'm very open to others taking him to events I may not even be at and that could in fact happen for GDQx should we decide to submit content for it. I've been very consistent on that, see the SGDQ 2016 discussion thread for more. On a side note, I'm unable to keep up with, well, everything that needs done. I'm going to have to rely on volunteers to keep the list at Wiki: TASBot up to date and in line with what's at the GDQVods TAS page and to make any event specific pages. Obviously it would make a lot more sense to have all of this if we could get more of the content we show represented on the site.

edit: "current site policy" is that anything else than Wiki: Nach/FairUse which only talks about video game speedrun encodes?
I'm personally very careful to always handle content coming *from* TASVideos appropriately, providing full attribution per the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 license. I always attempt to be above reproach and fully abide by Fair Use when using site content anywhere else. In the other direction, the issue is that the content creators have not placed their work on TASVideos because there is no vehicle available to do so and as such the site does not automatically have permission to use that content. The correct course of action to take is to find some way to resolve the years-long logjam that has prevented content like #4450: TheAxeMan's NES Final Fantasy "Console Verification" in 1:11:28.35 from being represented properly on the site under any category. As noted above in the thread, a White Mages variant of the above was shown at RPG Limit Break but also wasn't published on the site and wasn't even submitted in the first place due to the continued chilling effect of other past rejections like #4947: dwangoAC, Ilari & p4plus2's SGB Pokémon: Red/Green/Blue/Yellow Version "Pokemon Plays Twitch" in 08:11.42. I believe this situation will continue until some method is made for TAS content creators to showcase their event specific art. It just happens that this particular event was made up almost entirely of content that was not from TASVideos. We did 6 separate things; two interview desk segments in the form of Punch Out Wii and Majora's Mask using Dolphin TAS creations made on site and not based on TASVideos content (or even admissible as anything other than userfiles under current site rules), an off-stream live panel talk that was recorded and discusses how to capture console verification attempts, and finally Tetris, Mario Kart Wii individual levels, and the Celeste All Red Berries TAS made with the custom-built tools. Out of 6 things shown promoting TAS content only one of them in the form of Tetris was from TASVideos content. No meaningful progress has been made in years to resolve this ongoing problem and I don't anticipate that changing until some new force comes in to shake things up with a different perspective on how to represent event content that isn't strictly fastest-to-the-finish content. Thoughts?

Thanks for the links - the last of the Reddit ones is a year old though. The podcast will likely be up within a week apparently. Reddit seems to be relatively positive. I'm curious what this community thinks of the content that was shown at SGDQ 2019. I feel we've stepped back from the mistakes I made during AGDQ 2019 which were a repeat of AGDQ 2017 and I feel much better about this event's content. I did not know they were going to put a $175k incentive on Celeste and was surprised by it. It was amazing seeing how quickly the incentive was met. A note to publishers: The Tetris segment contains TASVideos content and can be freely posted on the TASVideos YouTube channel at will. However, Mario Kart Wii and Celeste are unable to be represented on TASVideos as a result of current site policy and thus are not TASVideos content in any way. Posting those segments on YouTube under the TASVideos channel would be unwise unless we can say with a straight face that the content actually came from TASVideos, including future events until such time that we can fully represent event content.

TAS content is up next at SGDQ 2019 where TASBot will be playing Tetris and Mario Kart Wii along with the likely bonus game Celeste with the incentive for the latter set at $175k. TAS content will also be at ESA on July 26th, serving up a healthy dose of SteamWorld Dig 2 and a few other surprises. I (dwangoAC) will also be taking TASBot to both MAGWest and MAGFest. Finally, TAS content will also be shown during the Bot Bash Charity Brawl on December 7th pitting BattleBots drivers against one another while benefiting Toys for Tots. See the 2019 TAS event content thread for more!

Is it known what the emulator/console difference is that allows two frame payloads to work only on emulator? I would think lsnes is very accurate to console, so this is surprising.
The two frame payload jumps back to Open Bus repeatedly in order to stall until the input is updated. On emulator, there's a few different jumps that work for this purpose. Unfortunately, there's no way to trace what's happening on console to find out why they don't work there.
I'll second that, I tried quite a number of possible versions but none of the 2-frame versions worked on console no matter what we tried. We invested quite a number of hours into it over the course of several different nights of testing it on stream and determined we needed to stick with a 3-frame version to function on real hardware. We even started comparing videos of the emulator compared to the console using negative overlaying techniques to spot differences (and we did spot some graphical differences that way). At the end of the day I can say that lsnes is good, but nothing is going to be completely the same as the original hardware was except for the real hardware which also likes to not be consistent between consoles due to aging components but that's another post. Oh, and Yes vote from me. It was a pleasure working with everyone who put time on this, I had a very good (albeit exhausting) experience with this and it was nice being able to release a verification video at the same time as the submission. I'd like to do that again sometime, it was fun. Thanks all!

I think this should be a case-by-case decision but in general this is a question that's come up before with ports. From a quality of life perspective it's clear that libTAS is superior but I don't think that on its own is enough for obsolescence but if there are timing differences between the two I don't think that should be held against a run either. Yes vote on this, and I'm highly considering showing this at ESA with TASBot providing visualization. Thoughts?

So there's a lot to update on but I'm going to keep this brief - while Desert Tesla Charity Drive was a huge success and Final Fantasy was a knockout the big news is that we've been officially accepted to ESA! More details to come, but we have a bit of flexibility on what we show. So, folks from Europe, what would *you* like to see? I'll make a post about what happened on the way to RPG Limit Break and things that were afoot there in time but there's some video editing we need to do first, so in the meantime here's a link to the Final Fantasy run we did that is quite possibly the best showing we've had to date: Link to video

So the big news is that I'm doing more events than ever. The challenge is that while I was able to more or less weather the costs from RPG Limit Break 2019 and I think I'll be able to cover the upcoming as of the date of this post SGDQ 2019 expenses I'm adding at a minimum $2,500 to my debt in order to take TASBot to Europe for the first time for ESA Summer 2019. I've already paid for airfaire, hotel, and event registration and I'll have more expenses while there. I'm not putting myself in actual debt yet, I still have some savings, but I could definitely use help taking the edge off. Thanks in advance if you are willing to help!

Desert Tesla Charity Drive is on Saturday and there's a *lot* done already, but more to do. If you're interested in volunteering please contact me, there are all kinds of small jobs that need done. I overcame a major power draw concern and sound is now working but I'm concerned about the issue of bandwidth. I need to broadcast at 768 Kbps for video, 96 Kbps for audio on two different networks simultaneously if I can manage it. I had hoped to get a Verizon device but that doesn't look likely so we'll have to figure out how to come up with a creative solution with Project Fi. Not sure how that's going to work out... Anyway, watch that video in the previous post. :)

Strap in, this is going to be wild as I've been leading efforts on a number of fronts to introduce TAS content and concepts to new audiences in my position as Ambassador on staff here at TASVideos and most of it will probably be news to you. In reverse order, here are the events that the TASBot team has prepared content for in just the next 90 days: TASBot in Europe at ESA July 19-28: This is the only event in this post that's unconfirmed but ESA Summer 2019 submissions are in! See the European Speedrunner Assembly submissions page and sort on TASBot to see the below submissions, with announcements of accepted content being made May 5th: - TASBot plays SteamWorld Dig 2 (any% by keylie) - TASBot plays Super Mario Bros. 3 (any% no wrong warp by Lord Tom, Maru, & Tompa) - TASBot plays TAS Showcase (20 minutes of curated TAS content) TASBot at SGDQ 2019 June 28th: We've been busy over at the Discord.TAS.Bot server and the team was able to submit 5 runs that were *fully complete* at the time of submission to avoid a repeat of the issues micro500 identified during AGDQ 2019. The following have been accepted: - TASBot plays Tetris (Mode B, playaround, fastest 999999 by Baxter & Acmlm) - TASBot plays Mario Kart Wii 8 Tracks (IGT: ~10 minutes) - TASBot plays Celeste (All Red Berries by euni, fishmcmuffins & Kilaye as Bonus Game 5) TASBot at RPG Limit Break 2019 on May 9th: In our first confirmed appearance at this great event benefiting the very neutral National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), TheAxeMan and I will be showing: - TASBot Plays Final Fantasy (No Memory Corruption/No Reset by TheAxeMan) Desert Tesla Charity Drive on May 4th: Watch TASBot, TheAxeMan and I melt or freeze as you use Crowd Control to hack the comfort features of my Tesla Model X 100D during a 14+ hour desert livestream from Petaluma, CA to Salt Lake City, UT in a (literal) charity drive benefiting NAMI. This is a major event presented by the TASBot team with sponsorships by various companies with Tool-Assisted elements throughout and while our (dis)comfort is free to watch it can be enhanced by your charitable meddling so please tune in May 4th at https://TAS.Bot. Yes, this is a *lot*. Some of this may come as a surprise as I personally haven't made update posts here due to the TASVideos forums being slower than using the https://Discord.TAS.Bot server and there are fewer people here that seem to want to help as evidenced by the feedback in the last thread. Perhaps this thread will jumpstart more active engagement from here. :) Feedback is welcome, even moreso if you're willing to join us in the arena and help us with the crunch of things left to do. Thanks!

I was super excited until I realized that this does not, in fact, speedrun the installation of Linux Mint. I'll still watch this anyway and vote, however. :)

Howdy - I can try to console verify this (as best I can with what I have on hand) but I'd agree that you should look to HappyLee for how he handles Bowser and you should do whatever it takes to get past him as fast as possible. The downside of an audience full of perfectionists is that you'll have to deal with us, well, asking you for perfection, but it will be oh so worth it.
