How will you do the arcade games? Did I miss a meeting? I would like to see Bayou Billy done because the game has a variety of modes. It should make an entertaining movie. Someone made a Magic Sword submission for the SNES. My favorite system ever is the Neo Geo, so Magician Lord and NAM 1975 would be a thrill. I'm very curious to figure out how a NAM time attack would work, as most of the game is auto-scrolling. You don't have to kill any of the "grunts" until you face the boss, although selective shooting would gain you extra grenades and a shooting partner. It would also be important to avoid the "surprise attack" levels which would make the game take longer to complete. I don't know if that's luck manipulation or triggered by something you do/don't do in the game.

I watched this movie and I really liked it. I'd consider it a "playaround" rather than a time attack.

"<3" is a heart (picture it turned on its side) "I love kanji" was my sentiment.

I <3 Kanji. What do you mean by "halfway?" 500? 1000? 2500?

Given that a new, faster submission has been made, I fear there is little hope for this run to be published, sorry.

In my experience, despite the widespread casual use of English in advertising and study of English in schools, 95% of Japanese people don't speak English at all. Some of them can read/write it, which is a lot easier that speaking, but you can't ask them for directions or anything. If you have an interest at all, I highly recommend trying to learn some Japanese. It's not as hard as people say it is, especially if you're eager to learn. This coming from a novice who speaks about as much Japanese as they speak English...>_<

The five languages are Swedish, English, German, French and Japanese. I'm not saying that alone makes him a genius, but it is impressive. He also has a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and he was a Fullbright Scholar at MIT. None of these things make him a good actor, but I like him.

Street Fighter movie sequel? Sweet Zombie Jesus...that's scary. I like Dolph Lundgren though. Did you know he's a genius? I think he speaks 4 or 5 languages. I agree, MK is the only video game movie I enjoyed, but not by much. The sequel still haunts my nightmares.

I deleted the double post. The Metroid movie has surfaced in the rumor mills again. Doubt it will happen though. Frankly, I hope it doesn't. No one has mentioned House of the Dead yet. I wish I could forget it. I don't think video games can make good movies. At least not without my wisdom. ^_^

Couldn't we have made this into a poll? So we could click on a few options and figure out roughly the average age? Just a thought.
Hmmm, good idea. I'll work on that.

I watched it and it is, in fact, quite good. My only curiosity is the Slash Man battles. Is there any way to prevent him from disappearing and dropping thsoe eggs? It makes the fight take twice as long, and you fight him twice, so that's like four times as long really.

I voted yes and havent seen the emu yet but according to peoples comments it seems as a nice run + the authors comments and being a Megaman freak this was a clear yes-vote. Hope it gets converted to avi very soon.
While we understand the sentiment (as I believe everyone here is partial to Mega Man/Rockman), please do not vote before watching the submission.

Getting better, getting better. For the record, I'm not bored by the movie.

I like what I've seen so far, although I'm not as familiar with this game as other people seem to be. What's the advantage to rescuing hostages? It seems safe to ignore some, but not others? In the current submission, you end up with extra rations. Can that be avoided? Missed shots/movement - I think others have said enough. Keep at it, SlashStarDash ^_^

I don't want to play the role of suppression, but keep in mind ROM requests or offers are not allowed on this board. If you folks want to work out this project, please do so through e-mails. Good luck.

Well, the issue there is when you defeat Ridley and UP+A, you begin at the start of Ridley's Lair. Then you need to go up the elevator until the music changes then UP+A again. Then, from the beginning of Norfair, go up the elevator and UP+A again. While it saves time...maybe a bit annoying?
More important is improving the Ridley battle (and maybe Kraid, if possible). the UP+A debate can rage on in the meantime.

I have elected to erase all memory of "Captain N" and other video game cartoons. The pain was simply unbearable. For some reason I can't forget Captain Lou Albano as Mario, so I must continue to suffer.

Well, Arc's video is reason enough for me to vote "no." I still think UP+A is cooler than running backwards through Ridley's Lair and Norfair and Brinstar to get to Kraid, but I may be alone in that belief.

I liked it, but I have questions. [1] Why continually open the door in Ridley's room? Everytime it closed, it produced lag. [2] Why not use UP+A? It would save you minutes. I like finishing with zero missles in this version better than with only one energy in your earlier work. The beeping sound drives me crazy.

Saw it, looks good for a first draft. However: -don't miss shots. -abuse luck. Whenever you kill something, get something useful out of it. More life might mean a faster run through Tourain. -UP+A is way cooler than killing yourself.
