And the "max speed" setting can be found in the "emulation quality" tab in the input settings. However, if you use the 60 fps patch and run the emulation at 5% speed, you don't need any autofire at all because you can control the buttons much more precisely and easily as fast as the super speed autofire. This might be considerable sometimes.
I thought you said the controls become unresponsive below 30% speed? Does the 60fps hack change all that?

Hey, I'm down with 60fps, but I'm not going to sacrifice audio to get it. I've got the earlier hack, and I enjoy it.

Personally, I'd rather watch "imperfect" Famtasia than trade a few extra frames for faulty audio. But good luck with future hacks.

I'm not going to change the way I set titles (because Rockman2 is not really Megaman2 and Hitler no Fukkatsu is not really Bionic Commando), but I can consider sorting them by the English name or something.
That would clear a few things up, yes. Good point though, these "localized" versions of the games are different from each other. I would strongly recommend at least mentioning alternate titles whenever applicable.

I restored the older thumbnail mechanism now, because there were two reasons: It didn't work on all browsers and someone didn't like it.
I actually dug the "by author" sorting, but no, it didn't look right on my corporate browser.

I was thinking, the movie listing on the main page seems cluttered and confusing. It is alphabetical, yes, but the mixing of Japanese/English versions had separated games that should be listed together. For example, all five Mega Man / Rock Man time attacks should be listed together, as should the three Castlevania movies. Proposed solution: Alphabetize the titles by their English title, since most visitors to this site are speaking English anyway. List Japanese titles in the description body, to accomodate Japanese speakers and acknowledge the original title of the game. What do people think of this? Is there a better/simpler solution?

Windowed mode works fine for me. I'm not positive, but the 60fps version looks nicer than the regular version, so I'm pretty sure something is happening. I'm using Windows Millenium Edition

オールド・スクール = "old school" Your "old" is legible (barely), but your "school" is way off.

In anyone else having problems running 60fps in Fullscreen? I am.
Can you give more info on what's going wrong? Is it freezing up? Is it not running? Is it running but not running at 60fps?
When I switch to Fullscreen, the picture disappears. All I get is a black screen and my mouse pointer. If I press Esc, I can see (part of) the menu bar. The sound continues, so i know the emulator is still emulating. But I can't see anything. Fullscreen works in regular Famtasia on my computer, for the record. And I still can't get 240 to work properly at any size.

God I hope ZNES implements re-recording soon. There are so many games I want to see, especially the Mega Man X series. Those games were HARD.

At this point the 240 version cuts off the top of every game I try, regardless of window size.

So, since we've been passing around the 60fps version of Famtasia, can someone hack and distribute the new 60fps/240 line Famtasia? Anyone?

Better tell Bisqwit to revoke your "active player" status. ^_^ Seriously, hope to see your work again someday.

Great work, Genisto. Very exciting. I have a question though. Why not use the Laser option more frequently? Wouldn't that be faster on most stages?

Are we talking about Fester's Quest? I remember that being a long game that, like many NES classics, had to be beaten in one sitting. And if you died, you had to start over. But I think it was fun.

I remember one magazine remarked that Total Recall was the worst "movie to video game" of that year, with second place going to Star Trek V.

Something I was wondering about Genisto's run, both that which was posted and the one he's working on now (see this topic). What is the advantage of running into the Shyguy while holding the bomb in the waterfall cave on Area 1-1? Regardless of that enemy, you still have to wait for the bomb to blow up.

I thnk the only games it would work for are those that use weird bugs/glitches or have complicated manuevers. Kung Fu, I don't think is a good idea. Super Mario, maybe. Bionic Commando might be fun, as different joystick positions affect swinging with the arm. Otherwise it seems unnecessary.

Could someone explain what's happening in this movie? Specifically why it is so short. I'd like to know more about it, as I never played the original game.

You must admit, female video game enthusiasts are rare. And one also interested in Time Attacks of NES classics, well, that's got to be even rarer.

Does anyone know what happens if you try to give him a heart container when you only have 3? I never tried it, but if it's possible then having only 2 heart containers would be pretty cool.
If you give him a heart container you don't lose one, but you are reduced to ZERO life. This shouldn't be a problem for someone who's not taking damage in the first place. This reminds me: Anyone planning a run must watch the video of the second quest over at Arc's. It's swordless to boot. Link to Fileplanet download here

Hats off to Linnom, who submitted a less-than-stellar first effort (which was eclipsed immediately) and then came back and showed us all a thing or two. This latest version incorporates all the past successes into one incredibly tight package. Congratulations, Linnom. Any ideas for improvement?

Insult me all you want. I'm ignoring this topic from now on. Between working a full-time job and going to school at night, I've got a choice between this thread and enjoying myself. I choose to enjoy myself. Bottom line: If you enjoy time attacks, then enjoy them. Try making one too. If you think we're "cheating," then don't visit our forum. Complain about it all you like over at Twin Galaxies. And if you enjoy time attacks but still describe us as "cheaters," then you are, as Bisqwit put it, "ignorant." Cheating, by definition, involves deception. You can't be an "honest cheater," as you so condescendly put it. Feitclub...out.
