Hi. Not sure I can read this in one sitting, but I subscribed to the thread. Can you add chapter headers for better digestion?

Before I look too hard into this, does anyone think the 1P run is not outstanding enough to remain published alongside this one and should get obsoleted?

Hi, I've made an HD encode of this movie, can you tell me if it is good enough to be published ? here is the link : https://archive.org/download/CircusCaperAnyResubmissionDrD2k9/Circus%20Caper%20-%20Any%20%25%20-%20Resubmission%20-%20DrD2k9.rar
Hi. Thanks for helping, but your encode has some problems. The subtitles should start when the actual gameplay starts (and make sure they don't cover anything important). The logo should get approved by the staff before it can be used for official encodes. Your logo doesn't have any errors as far as I can see, but its style is very weird and inconsistent: detailed objects, upscaled pixelated objects, detailed font, pixelated font, font sizes, intalics... that's just a mess. And break the first line in 2. See how our publishers put together their logos: http://tasvideos.org/SiteHistory/EncoderLogos.html Also, don't use Archive.org for uploads of runs that haven't been accepted yet.

PSX is the console that has ACE runs which aren't verified. With the dramatically increased data feed rates, it becomes possible to make a takeover chain. But as no ACE was found for N64 (just yet), PSX verification might be a way forward.

BTW, does some sort of a glitchfest TAS for SM64 exist? The one that would try to show all the insanity and still beat the game.

Try event.onexit()
string event.onexit(func luaf, [string name = null])

Fires after the calling script has stopped
Declare the vars outside the loops and store them to a file when the script dies. Dunno if it will work upon emulator crash though, probably not. To insure against that you'd have to constantly dump the numbers to a file (probably overwriting the old ones). And you don't have to specify the step being 1, since it's default.

Right, as a good example of concept diversity, there was boulder mario kart race. Not so hard to set up, but extremely funny. TAS vs. human is also interesting. Can we invent new concepts every time? I dunno.

Insert Coin command wasn't recorded for some reason. Open the movie in a text editor like Notepad++ and put |16| instead of |0| at the frame you need. http://www.fceux.com/web/FM2.html

Post the movie. Was it working when you recorded it?

If you replace it with the movie status mark (also removable), it'd be best. Poll based input is a good feature, don't remove it. You could simplify it though. This is what I'm planning to do with fceux someday: https://sourceforge.net/p/fceultra/bugs/741/#168a

Errr, can't that be done by using autorestore? You put emulation to the frame you're checking, scroll the view to where you edit input, enable autorestore (and turboseek if needed), disable follow cursor and go mad with editing. It will always show you the frame you're comparing at, while keeping your view at the frame you're editing. Fundamental technique since the early days of taseditor revamp by AnS. http://www.fceux.com/web/help/taseditor/index.html?SemiautomaticTASing.html I mean, if your troubles can be resolved without this new hotkey, I won't be committing it.

I added that in my local copy, but to use it you need to have the proper marker selected. Is it not a problem? https://yadi.sk/d/aJV0Rn7cyH6P4 Also please describe the tas workflow you're using that requires this feature.

I don't know the current movie format of Mesen, but the best approach is to have a movie as an archive, where you put each element of the movie as a separate file: input log, header, subtitles, savestate anchor, you name it. And the best way to store input is as text. After archiving, it doesn't waste too much space. http://tasvideos.org/Bizhawk/BK2Format.html

Like in fceux. When you start recording there is red circle and you know that you recording right now. When you play movie there is red triangle. It's pretty handy actually.
And when it's paused, you show ||. Also, can please pausing emulator not put a shadow over the image? Or the shadow density be configurable?

Not insisting on anything, but it's possible to get the username changed. Personally, I prefer names that aren't confusing between forums and submissions, but that's just me.

AM2R was basically a new game, so they had to use the copyrighted content. IPS patches don't have copyrighted content, so I think this hack is safe. Also, can this please be moved to NES Games?
