I'd go with 1 game per platform for each category. That way, any% might beat one version, and hardest difficulty would beat another version of the game due to the result looking more interesting or spending less time on an equally interesting/challenging run. Somewhat like polity for hacks.

Under the current site system I would not accept board games. They don't conform to the quality standards of publishable games for this site. This is why we are discussing new systems that lower these standards.
Which was not my question. It was: "How many people think we should not tweak the system to include board games?", and optionally, "Why?". All I really remember is people saying board games would cause certain problems, but those were more or less resolved during discussion.

Don't ask me where I'm getting this notion, but I doubt any tier changes are going to happen at this point.
There's actually been some discussion about that on IRC. The main point why the system we were suggesting there won't work is because the intention of tiers is to promote. Indeed, once we remove the entertainment criterion from tier division, there's nothing to promote, and no way to do so. Right now, even with how faulty the system may be, it's promoting very well: Newcomer attention -> Stars -> Moons -> Vault -> Gruefood Delight. It was suggested, that Vault game-based criterion is lowered, Moons entertainment criterion is raised, and a middle tier is added, a to-be-defined tier. It'd be the primary one to send accepted runs to, to allow some automation when deciding what tier to put a run to, deciding between Vault, Middle and Moons depending on rating: http://tasvideos.org/Adelikat/FourTierSystemRules.html Adelikat, myself, Moth and some other people were in favor of that system. Then adelikat seemed to lost interest. Adelikat: to answer your recent question on IRC: in board games, people agree to account fastest possible runs as any%, and hardest difficulty as 100%. That way chess would only have 2 runs maximum per game.

Since it's been agreed upon, we seem to need to replace the movie file again, with the originally cut one, right?

Do you guys think it's really better to go with internal DS resolution for a 3D game like this? We can't have both visual portliness and perfect accuracy for it, so what should we sacrifice? I'm well aware of how purism must rule the world, and there should never ever on Earth exist an option to increase internal resolution, but let's abstract from it, and just decide. PS: fading screens can be "fixed" by inserting 1x dump, cookies can't.

Link to video 00:08.83 seconds ahead. Thoughts: Megavolt can't be manipulated to walk on the floor while dying. Damage on spikes saves time. Implemented the ceiling zip from the published movie. Need certain Y subpixel before jumping off the hook to get it to work. Something between 60 and 100. Avoided some damage, delays and lag in both levels. Booshroot is going to be a hell!

There's also an option to claim one, then claim another once you've done encoding the first one :)

Anty-Lemon, do you want to publish this one? I was going to, but now I'm looking at handling Over the Hedge (also hires), and if you wish (or someone else), I can pass it.

Done! http://tasvideos.org/NesVideoAgent.html It now only lacks the avatar that was there.

Since I got the any% version encoding from a 1440p dump, I might as well publish this one.

No need to wonder when you can just look at it. Not that this is something to compete/find offense over.
So, how did you encode it?

I wonder how your 43GB encode is so much better than mine when mine is 43GB as well! How did you encode it? Maybe by dropping every other frame (to make it effectively 30fps) you succeeded to preserve twice as good quality? If so, I really can still improve mine. PS: I don't think null frames add anything to file size anyway.

sonicpacker, did you know GPU can force supersampling and anisotropic filtering for mupen64 regardless of whether plugins support it or not? I personally dumped with Jabo that supports is internally, but GPU made even Glide64 look way better with those options. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16556 Not that it puts a shadow on your upload, just sharing ideas.

Youtube can't handle variable framerate, can it?

I had to compress it because I'm not ready to spend 2 weeks uploading 80 GBs to TVC. I can reencode it whenever it's possible to send to TVC directly. And so much free space might be a problem. Resolution: my upload is 1536p, blame youtube. FPS: do you mean .kkapture is actually missing frames? I might capture with target fps 120, but again, file size... Cropping: whatever, I used what emulator outputs, isn't it what N64 outputs to TV? As for youtuber in the publication, we indeed could use yours, but put (copypaste) our youtuber description.

Only BizHawk's SNES core has this option. Unless you're ready to hack savestates :)
