The game does get progressively harder in the following cycles. It eventually has more and more of the blue enemies that were a pain in the ass, and I think more pterodactyls (I believe that is the official enemy name) if I recall correctly. It has been a very long time since I played this. But I guess it wouldn't matter for a TAS since it would kill them in an instant regardless. I don't know what to vote on this. I'm not sure that going more cycles would be any more entertaining.
If you are totally sure the game does get harder than this, I'll have to reject it as well. Looking similar (if the enemies were insta-killed) doesn't remove the Vault rule about completing the game up to where it's not harder anymore.

It seems the fastest way to fly up is not 2 frames B 1 frame empty (as in this movie), but rather 5 frames B 1 frame empty. Testing other things...

Oh, you mean translating the forum itself?

My thoughts about potential obsoletion. In the TASing world, we don't deal with absolute accuracy. We have to limit it with absolute determinism. Even if both can't be achieved, we put the priority on determinism, because if it's broken, TASing isn't possible. And yes, if accuracy is what breaks determinism, we will have to sacrifice it (trying to minimize the sacrifice, but still). If a run does sync on a console, it adds to its value. But if the run doesn't sync, it doesn't lower its value! Just because we do not deal with stripped reality - we bend it to fit our needs. In reality, determinism can be totally impossible in some cases (Ilari was always mentioning his Gonzales runs on that matter), so we just assume it's possible and make it virtually possible and stable. We can't afford disqualifying runs that don't sync, because it has zero benefits (in my eyes), and introduces an unfair amount of problems for all. If one cares so much about runs being syncable, the best option is to improve the emulators (or replay devices), to get closer that that goal. To make possible disqualifying non-syncing runs, we must make it easy and reliable to get them to sync in the first place, which we can't do right now, and won't be able to in the nearest future. So please let's not turn verification against anything.

Then I have another question. What is usually stopping your improvement excitement? For this game, it seems to be an annoying/broken engine. But maybe it's some tool not being useful? For example, I never can think about a run when I'm using savestates - all my brain powers go to figuring out what states to save and when, and then not forget to press input!

Dimon12321, I have a question for you. It is strongly related to how you already managed to improve several runs of yourself by quite some time. Have you already caught the feeling of suddenly improving something that seemed "good enough" for you before? Has it started motivating you to try and improve even more, despite your impression that it's "already good enough"?

It's because for new player entries, we have to manually add the forum account(s) of the player(s).

I believe we should switch to the English title with this submission.

The game doesn't work in FBA, dunno if they ported it to MAME-rr as well. http://code.google.com/p/mame-rr/source/browse/lua/

tl;dr: We need SMS emulator video output fixed, to add those borders.

Also, easy answer to "how to make it deterministic" Just remove any sources of entropy! :D It might sounds complicated, but it easy.
Can you be more specific? Is it possible to read the core's code and say with some certainty what is going to introduce that entropy? For a skilled coder it must be so, so please share some thoughts. Trying it by hand for each possible condition isn't efficient you know.

Excuse me, but isn't this movie uses a major skip glitch?
I'm pretty sure it isn't. It goes out of bounds, and all the rest is the result of that. Watch how gradually the time was going slightly shorter throughout the publication history, it's not like the game took 10 minutes normally, then suddenly it took 1. It's a heavy glitch abuse, non-major skip glitch.

It looks like SMS indeed outputs huge horizontal and tiny vertical borders, and some devs even gave them special colors, so the overall picture was 4:3, but the real screen was 16:9-ish. See the third link by creaothceann.

It looks to me that you're constantly bumping the wall well before the corner and slide along it until the wall ends, instead of aiming for the corner in the first place. Is it not true? Please explain how movement works in this game.

Looking at those images, I'm believing you. Though it looks like we need vertical borders added to SMS dumps and then ARC them to usual 4:3. What do you think? Are there any snaps from TVs/can those be delivered?

It's most likely related to the lack of extreme geeks on the SMS ground, so don't feel too bad. Nothing stops us from fixing this issue if the arguments are clear enough, and to me it so far looks so. PS: your links are 404.

It wasn't cared about to that level really. Can you try it with more games?

Doesn't look like so. We just force all TV systems to 4:3, unless they are that already. The only case I recall where you have to add some manual cropping is A2600.

I believe that it might be a good habit (in future) if a guy that creates enjoyable runs can be donated. But for some reason, once someone starts asking for donations, it ends up like this:

So why don't you accept this one?
