I just thought of something... In the JRB room, there's an aquarium on the left of the painting (when facing it) that you can get into by BLJing against the wall. I've seen a video of this a little while ago. Maybe you could use the spot to BLJ and get enough speed to get out of the room and into another level faster than by re-entering the bonus level, exiting to the lobby then doing the lobby glitch. I hope I made myself clear, if not I'll try to get the video but since it's been ages, I'm not sure I can find it again PS: Awesome all coin TAS so far, nice work =)

True... And you shouldn't worry about the 15 frames in the caterpie battle, it will be the only time it's happening, you'll be the only one thinking about it

I think I read somewhere that you can get the owl star using neither the owl nor the cannon. It involved a triple jump + wall kick thinig if I recall correctly, and it shouldn't be slower than the owl

There's no loading point behind the door. Opening the door IS the loading point. You can get stuck using MIPS to glitch through the door then open it from the other side, quite funny actually ^^

They're not stairs, it's just a slope with stairs graphics on it

Besides, I think someone has mentioned that entering the Thieve's Hideout as a child will cause your game to freeze.
No way... How could you get the 37th heart piece then? It doesn't make it freeze, don't worry about that

Actually I believe the 78th coinless star (shifting sand land) has been done already. Or so says this video And there are also 114 capless cannonless stars with FODA's trick in whomp's fortress You should also check this site

Good stuff once again! The Wasteland sure looked cool, especially at the beginning with all the white fog on the screen. Just a thought: are you sure it's not faster to just walk instead of turning around and sidehopping sometimes? There was one place in the deku tree I thought it looked slower. It's no big deal for this one, but if it can save time later on, it could be useful. As for save states, I can't give one myself because I totally forgot to try and make one without causing the movie to desynch. I'll make one tomorrow if no one has before, I just really need to get some sleep now... I knew I shouldn't have come here checking for an update before I went to bed >_>

Problem is, some people just can't do it. I tried again to make my own this morning like 10 times to see if it worked better than yesterday and I ALWAYS got a desynch. Luckily there are always people kind enough to make one and give it to the others =)

I finally watched the WIP (thanks Guano ;) ) and I don't really have anything to say that hasn't been said already... It looks pretty good imo. could you provide a savestate with your next WIP? I tried making one when you enter gerudo valley but playing the movie from it desynchs it. Young link won't grab the cucco and will roll next to it instead, then he'll fall down the river... Or does anyone know how to make one without making the movie desynch? Good luck for the next part

Sorry if someone already mentionned it in your 0% thread, but I think I read somewhere that shooting when landing can make you land faster or something... When you're jumping to a higher platform. Just thought I'd mention it Nice work on your new run so far =)

Tried it 4 or 5 times, and got to level 35 But it was a close call one of the earlier levels... It's a pretty good game, I hope I'll get to the end one day ^^

I watched the rest of your run, seemed good to me =) Couple of things I noticed: In Whomp's fortress, I think that you'd get better results if you followed the 100 coin route from curtis bright's vid, and got the shoot into the wild blue star along with it, as it's literally just above you. And then use his red coin route. I'm not so sure, as it's hard to judge because mupen's lagging for me, but I think it'll be worth checking for the final run. Remember to use the tree too ;) The cool cool mountain 100 coin route was very good, getting the 100th one right at the end of the slide seems to be the best option. Good luck on optimizing it later. I'll watch the bob omb battlefield later, I've got homework and I'm already behind schedule. Good luck with the rest! And I'm sorry for always criticizing a thing or another, it looks like I don't like what you do... Don't get me wrong, I think you're doing great work, I just want to help you make a very good movie =)

I think no one will blame you for a couple of seconds lost on a 2 hours + run if you lose them to include such a neat trick. Of course if it's faster, there's no question.

Did you find a way to get the 3 red coins out of the water that you normally get after you resurfaced the sunken ship? If not, I'm affraid you'd have to do plunder in the sunken ship before the red coins and opening the cannon. You'll still have the cannon's benefit for 4 stars, which isn't all that bad

Your 100 coin route looks good. Since there are 104 coins, you can miss 2 reds. Maybe it would be faster to swim straight down into the cave instead of getting the red coin in the shell close to the surface and getting the other coins, but I don't know, just throwing an idea there. Also, there's a way to do the 5th star cannon-less Right here. (vid by curtis bright) It seems faster to me than to open the cannon, but since you use it twice I don't know... I think it's worth testing though. Why did you enter bob-omb battlefield at the end? Shoudln't you go there when you have the wing cap? The rest looks pretty good for a test run. Keep it up =)

Just saw it, that was pretty great considering how fast you did it. The bowser levels were amazing, I also loved how you throw him turning only for 180 degrees on the first two battles. Couple of things I think you can improve on: in the fortress, if you're going to use the cannon for star 5, I'd say do this one before star 6. Then you can do star 6 the faster way (myles vid Michael Fried posted earlier) instead of waiting for the rotating platform, even if the way you did it didn't slow it down that much. Also, it seems to me that bypassing the first door with the rabbit is faster using the new way (merge with the door while dropping the rabbit), but I have no way of testing so I'm not sure. I was also surprised that you dropped the 2nd star in hazy maze, it didn't look like the slowest to me, but you probably checked that. I'd advise you to discuss with myles, Curtis Bright, Lecoureur and Holy Moly before you try another TAS, as they probably know faster strats than the one on their videos. Other than that, solid stuff, liked it very much *grabs some food and watches it again*

delete this post, I know you can't post that thing on the forum itself, this is why I specified PM The reason I asked is that I've asked before for a PM link and everything went fine Oh well... you're right anyway so why bother </sarcasm>
