I think the cow should be obtained since it's unique and permanent "trophy" after accomplishing a task. Other than that I like your list Slowking.

Just like small keys and golden rupees.
Small keys and golden rupees aren't permanent though so the "unique and permanent" idea would reject those but not heart pieces.

That's too easy and/or i am retarded. Not sure which.
It is easy which is the point, but I also think it is a very good threshold to determine what should count as 100%. I also don't see it as any less effective than saying persistent.

Unique: Something of which there exists only one of. Therefore, rupees and keys are not unique. So we can count those out. I would define an item as something that shows up on the item subscreen. Epona and the cow does not, therefore they are not items.
So according to that definition heart pieces are not unique... or rupee chests are also unique. At least the ones with 200r inside, because they only appear in a few locations and once you opened them, they are gone. Same goes for small keys.
I would say that heart pieces are unique because there are a finite amount of them and not ubiquitous (only found in specific locations). Conversely, I would say that rupees are not unique because they are infinite and ubiquitous (can find them anywhere). Although that doesn't answer the question of heart piece duplicating. Skulltula's are tied to unique locations (hence what makes them unique), so would we say heart pieces are tied to specific locations also? I think the better word for "persistent" would just be "permanent". Gee this is tough on the brain to think through...

Lurker here. For what it's worth I think Spider Waffle is unfairly treated and brings up things that make the community reconsider things and question methods that may just be erroneously accepted as better. He/she won't let an issue rest without sufficient evidence which I think betters TAS development. Improvements aren't made until someone comes up with alternatives, and if an alternative isn't proved to be invaluable it shouldn't be dismissed as easily as they are. I don't actually know what I'm talking about so feel free to think I'm an idiot because I very well might be, but that's just my third party view on the situation.

Shit I forgot to cite Brahmagupta as the owner of the quadratic formula on my math test, I might get kicked out of university for academic dishonesty...

IMO it would be easier to just do a hookshot free run or an explosivefree run or something like that instead of ambiguously determining what low% is. Considering we don't even have an any% run, a low% or hookshot free or whatever isn't very realistic. I think a 100% run should be done before a low% as well

If anthing happens in with the run that is worth mentioning, it will be mentioned without us asking for it

I also just realized that one of the other places that this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snhL6c9nfFQ may apply is in the castle collapsing escape scene. You go through black loading areas in some spots. Would it be possible or useful to clone the actors in a room in these areas? I love these sessions on this topic where we just throw out tons of questions, but usually don't get many useful answers. I think this thread needs more MrGrunz action (he is a good OoT tester IMO).
couldn't this be used in a 100% run to get all skultulas and heartpieces?

kuwaga, the warp songs are hackable. the bolero of fire could be hacked with item number 2547 or something like that. sadly there aren't that many items :(
this reminded me of missingno or even mew in pokemon. Their values (or even simply pokedex numbers) aren't supposed to be know to exist however they can be accessed through glitching/address manipulation or whatever you want to call it. I wish I had more knowledge about this because maybe there is a way to trick the game into thinking we have item 2547 like how you can find missingno by swimming along cinnabar (point being something random like that).

I think that eventually something will be discovered to glitch light arrows but until then I agree that RBA and BA can't be used until a significant discovery is made. I have a hunch that wrong warping could be used more maybe right into the ganon battle but what do i know
