i watched battletoads level 3 at 15 fps and i gotta say it doesn't look that smooth, but it doesn't look bad at all either. and it's just that level. i think it really pays off to have a file that is half the size. of course 30 fps is better and 60 fps is even better for viewing, but 15 fps looks VERY satisfatory + it's much smaller size.
15fps is just evil.

What sort of bandwidth does being a torrent tracker for these things take?
I haven't measured, but it has never disturbed me. It could be less than 2 kB/s by average. But seeding takes as much bandwidth as you can spare. Anyone can seed.
I have a machine that can host these. Perhaps as a mirror. The machine has been up for years as a personal mail and web server on a fast connection. WHat sort of space would it need for all the movies?

Oh, that's true. Hmm. What sort of bandwidth does being a torrent tracker for these things take?

Battletoads is now there (no video, sorry).
The video is what I am looking for. SOmeone should make a sticky note on here that says: FMV DOES NOT WORK ON NON-WINDOWS SYSTEMS AND NOT EVERYONE LEGALLY OWNS THE ROMS. That would justify the existence of the AVIs that so many people seem to oppose. It's so frustrating when we plead for an AVI only to hear the same two replies: "AVI is too big!" and "Get the FMV". We know that AVI's are large. Me? I don't care about the size. You can always put up a smaller version when you achieve it. Just put up anything. :( AVI's are the only option for non-Windows users and people that do not legally own the ROM.
Snake Rattle'n Roll will be handled and reviewed when it's its time. Sorry.
Ok. :(

I'm sorry that some of us don't have infinitely free time. I'm maintaining the site on my free time as my hobby. I have about 30 movies currently in queue, and I'm holding them because I'm developing the new site that will have a place for also SNES and Genesis movies and user-editable pages/entries. Handling the movies takes time. Just learn to wait. :)
Can you please put up Snake Rattle n Roll and Battletoads Single Player? I've been coming back several times a day hoping to see them. :(

I've heard about certain videos being submitted, but they never appear. Snake Rattle n Roll was submitted, but day after day goes by and it never appears. Battletoads Single Player, The Legend of Zelda II (even though I eventually found it elsewhere). Is the site admin viewing them and tossing them out?

just get the fmv and play it on famtasia, it's not hard at all...
There is no FMV viewer for the Mac.:( Not everyone can view FMV files.
OK, Famtasia is the emulator used to play these .FMV files. MacOS X is built off BSD... hence it should run, if I'm not mistaken. I believe WINE runs Famtasia fine, since that's how Bisqwit captures these AVIs in any case. As for the viewing of the AVI vs. FMV.. I prefer FMV if you're worried about times because u can speed through @ 10x realtime whereas the max on my played for AVI is 2.5x. The only problems is that the FMV doesn't seek. Its forawrd-only. AVIs can be seekeble from start-to-end. So, to sum up: Get WINE and check to see if Famtasia v 5.1 (with rerecord/movie capability -- from the vending machine is easiest IMO -- will run on your computer. Thanks for all the input everyone :)
There is also the issue of piracy. I do not own these games. It is not legal for me to download the roms. I am not prepared to break the law for your convenience. It does not hurt to have both the AVI and the FMV as options to download. If you don't want the AVI, don't get the AVI. It is legal for me to download a video, so I'll stick to that. Oh, and you're wrong about WINE. And before you mention VirtualPC next, even if I ran VirtualPC with a copy of Windows, which I do not own, nor am I prepared to buy, it would not run Famtasia at an acceptable framerate. Why do you insist on limiting the exposure of the videos by eliminating the AVIs?

fmv is so cool.... i watch any video i want anytime i want, just get the fmv and play it on famtasia, it's not hard at all... the rom is easy to find if u really want to..
There is no FMV viewer for the Mac. I am using a Mac. With an AVI, I don't have to go searching for things, and I don't have to go to someone else's house to use his PC. :( Not everyone can view FMV files.

i vote all levels. anyone can warp! maybe there can be two versions. one which attempts to actually beat the game as QUICKLY as possible. then there is the kind which attempts to play through the game as PERFECTLY as possible. both have their merits but I think this game has wonderful levels and stuff and the 2nd type serves it better.
Yes. Warps are so cheap and lame. :( Part of the fun of watching these videos is the scenery. Some levels we have never seen (because we have never been able to beat the game) and skipping them with a warp is a big disappointment, compared to seeing a master at work.

avi will be available soon, i believe. i'm trying to make a very compact version (140 mb is too much, and that run is shorter than mine)
We all could have downloaded a 140mb video a hundred times by now. O:) C'mon, any AVI is better than no AVI, right? *eager*

There's no reason to, as I've already been working on a better version.
I'll hold you to that. :)

The size is not a big deal to me. Those using BitTorrent inherently require patience. I don't know of an FMV viewer on the Mac, not to mention the ROM issue. Maybe someone would be kind enough to convert that Zelda II FMV to an AVI as well. *please*

This is not viewable on a Mac as there is no FMV viewer I am aware of. Can't someone please create and AVI? :(

I was finally forced to remove this video and the dragon warrior video from my hard drive since they caused software crashes, triggered strange windows bugs and more by their mere existence. Sounds like it's you.

Not sure what's wrong with your BT client or your video players, but I had NO trouble with either. I recommend Azureus for torrents and VLC for viewing. End of problems.

Can you explain what you mean by desyncronisation? Desync of what? Caused by what? If it's caused by having to do 2 players, why not do a single player warpless version? O:) Anyone else find this game hilarious? I love the exaggerated violence. The boot, the karate chop, the ramming horns, the sounds.

This game looks like the hardest NES game ever. Insanely hard. I'm sorry it's over so soon. :( I would love to see the skipped levels done with the same mastery. Would the author(s) do a warpless speedrun for this one? *hoping*

How about the non-warp US SMB2? :D

I'm not good at games, but the one thing I think anyone can agree on here, is that the videos are too short. :) I am a little disappointed in the use of warp zones in any video, especially SMB2 (US version). I would very much enjoy seeing a non-warp version. And I love all the exploits of bugs in the game. Is it possible for you to do Super NES videos? I'd love to see a Super Mario World video(s). I know that would be huge, but that was such a great game. And a Super Mario Kart video! :D
