I appreciate all the precision shots in these WIPs. Especially when they're enemies that don't even need to be killed. I find that they're really adding to the entertainment value.

"Just One Bite". For one reason. Also I love "Krusty Krab Training Video".

I view this run sort of like a hold-me-over until someone completes a 100% run. Had to vote no, for the reason Glitcher gave: "You can either have a completist run or a minimalist run, but this isn't either."

I'm really loving the layout here. Don't know if that was your choice or if that's common for DS encodes (haven't seen many), but it works well for this game.

I'm having a problem with the embedded players. If I click on the Watch Now Using Archive.Org button, then change my mind and click on the Youtube button, it does not bring up a Youtube player. It appears to bring up a smaller JWplayer instead, and it does not play anything. Also, JWplayer seems to reduce the quality of encodes, whereas the old Archive.org embedded player would play them back in their intended quality as far as I could tell.

Awesome TAS! That's a nice hack, too. Weapon switching is useful for the TAS, also a nice graphical update. People might actually find it to be an acceptable hack for publication. This is kinda off-topic from TAS discussion, but... I like the song choices for the hack, and they're mostly done well, but there's little subtleties that are missing from some songs that just drive me crazy. The 50's-ish battle theme from Earthbound is missing some very crucial pitch bends, and the swing rhythm of the Kirby victory theme isn't quite right. Not bad by any means, but could be much better with just little tweaks. I'm still waiting to find a hack with all-original music and no covers, but that's just me.

Maybe I'm missing something but to get FractalFusion's subtitles, I just need to click the commentary button don't I?
I could only get the subtitles while watching the .mkv file in VLC, I don't think the commentary button on the flowplayer will work for that.

Agreed. The point of low glitch runs is more of the spirit behind them rather than strict definitions. It's more akin to a pure entertainment run. Another that's pretty popular is Super Mario 64. That one's been caught up in semantics as well.
Yeah, oddly, while I absolutely love the glitching in games like Sonic 3 and Rockman 1/2, I'd really love to see an "intended route" run of Super Mario 64 that doesn't rely so heavily on BLJs. I guess glitching in 3D games confuses my head, I dunno.

This is most definitely not crappy, but in fact one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. It's so cool that I was tempted to make its own thread just to post this video to get more visibility for it. Well, here it is anyways: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1pchpDD5EU
The versatility is impressive.

Why is the bassline of the Green Hill Zone song a beat or two off from the melody? I mean, is it possible it's some kind of programming error, or was the composer competent enough to duplicate the melody, just not with the correct timing? It's kind of a rhetorical question, because I really don't think there's a way to even know, but it drives me insane when I hear it!

Here is an encode with softsubs as the commentary: http://www.archive.org/download/LordTomsNesMetroidIn1108.78/metroid-tas-lordtom.mp4 http://www.archive.org/download/LordTomsNesMetroidIn1108.78/metroid-tas-lordtom.mkv HQ Stream with softsubs: http://www.zexsoft.com/aktan/?LordTomsNesMetroidIn1108.78/metroid-tas-lordtom_512kb&LordTomsNesMetroidIn1108.78/metroid-tas-lordtom_s Edit: Added HQ Stream. Edit 2: Fixed HQ Stream link to have softsubs.
Do I have to do something special to watch these in VLC, or would I need a special codec or something? It looks glitchy when I try to open in VLC. EDIT: Nevermind, I upgraded from 0.8.5 to 1.0.3, it fixed the issue.

Some of these are a bit obvious and/or lame, I suppose. Mega Man 2: Some Like It Hot: Clear Heat Man's stage without using Item-2. Mega Man 3: Top Gun: Defeat 50 enemies with Top Spin. Mega Man 4-6: Kickin' It Old School: Clear the game without charging the mega-buster. Super Mario Bros. 3: Hammer Time: Get Hammer Bros. Suit, complete game without losing it or changing powerups It Ain't Easy Bein' Green: Get Frog Suit, complete game without losing it or changing powerups Super Metroid: Ceres Defender: "Defeat" Ridley in the Ceres Station by landing 100 hits. Sequence Breaking 101: Get Super Missiles before (or without) defeating Spore Spawn.

I'm horrible with achievement names, but... Even Quicker: Beat Quick Man's level without getting hit from lightbeam, nor using Flash Stopper, AND grab the extra life.
