Er, isn't that 9 WIPs? Oops. Tired >_>. I was gonna mostly use the SDA route since he seems to have chosen most of the best stars, but timing the 120 star TAS stars is a good idea.

Nice, Fallen Angel looked great. Can't wait for the submission.

Yes, it's definitely gonna be like what AKA said: a normal run, completing the game as fast as possible, but without any BLJs. As for the planning, I've basically been taking the SDA 70 star route and modifying it a little (for example, taking out some bad choices like Mario Wings to the Sky and possibly eliminating BBH, and replacing them with other fast stars that would work well). For WIPs, I guess I could put one up every seven stars; that would make an even nine WIPs plus the submission. New question: for each level, should stars be in order like in Rikku's run, or kind of randomized like in FODA's?

BLJ in BoB = 6 really fast red coins. Try it yourself. Anyway, 70 star BLJless run in progress.

I say stop. You kind of gave people too much information, and....it wasn't the best idea.

Its simple just call it a bljless run and use any glitch apart from that and complete the game in the fastest time possible.
This is an awesome idea.

I suggested the idea of a portable gaming system; I demand credit for the GameBoy. Seriously though, it's been known for quite a while that you can BLJ on almost any rising surface if it's going fast enough...to name an example or two: B3 elevators VCUtM elevators http://youtube.com/watch?v=3G3cGVhrHHw http://youtube.com/watch?v=DeFcpGg22XQ http://youtube.com/watch?v=KAadSS6Oxns http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ji6oBiBqnhs http://youtube.com/watch?v=9_MigeCkZXE

Wow, that looked great. I had actually gotten as far as the second fuel dump in CR (I'd been killing pretty much every enemy), but the constant desynchs got me too discouraged, so I pretty much gave up. Anyway, will you be working on this constantly from now on?

You do know they go to school for 7 years, right? Rowling said this would be the last HP book, except maybe a "Wizarding Encyclopedia".
Yes, it was one of my stunningly hilarious jokes.

SPOILERS, etc. I just finished reading it. I think it was the best out of the series, but way too rushed, and too short. Good stuff: Snape turned out to be good/cool. Lots of action. Good story (up to the epilogue). Tied up virtually every loose end from all the previous books. Bad stuff: Too short. Too much bitching from Ron/Hermione. Harry lives (seriously, it would've been more dramatic to have had Harry die. There would be no need for the epilogue and to have all the loose ends; the end is the end if Harry died). Fred dies (would've been better for Percy to, IMO). Too many grammar errors. Was "Stunning" always capitalized? Was it me, or was basically studying every detail in the other books a definite prerequisite for understanding most of this one? There was no "'but horcruxes', Harry remembered, 'are just objects that a dark wizard can store parts of his soul in to gain immortality'", or anything like that. You need to know almost every name, place, event, and thing. Anyway, still the best book so far, but I can't wait for the final book where Harry spends his eighth and final year and Hogwarts.

I saw SMB3 on about 5 different video sites, like, 5 years ago (if it was really that long). I knew it couldn't be real playing, but I had no idea what it really was, and no Google search could help me. Got [back] into SM64, and suddenly Spezzafer's SM64 TAS goes all across the net. There's a link to NESVideos on the page of that vid, so I come here...Browsed around completely uninterested because I couldn't find any N64 movies (really, I was ignorant), and the movies that did interest me were in emulator file format, which I didn't understand at all, so I left without even noticing it had a forum. Months (years?) later, saw some of FODA's SM64 vids on Google Video, and tried to find more of his vids. Thinking FODA was a company who made incredible movies like that (seriously, I thought it was an acronym), I Googled "FODA Mario", which brought me back to this , which had a link to TASVids (which I'd completely forgotten about) on it. I come back, and take a much greater interest. When I find out that FODA is making a 120 star TAS, I start browsing the forums, and follow FODA's TAS starting at about 1/6 of the way through. Eventually, a few months later, I feel like showing my support and giving some tips/suggestions, so I register. Etc, etc. Turns out I was right about the acronym, though (Fiber Optic Doppler Anemometry).

I was thinking of doing DDD first just to have something to do with MIPS (eg, make the extra BoB star useful for something).

It...uh....made the randomness in BoB a little better... Seriously, it was a mistake. I misread somewhere and thought it took three stars for Koopa to appear. I'm debating what to do about it. I certainly don't want to redo the BoB coins; any suggestions? I tried hexing it, but as you can imagine, BoB has plenty of randomness in it, and it desynched almost immediately. I think I'll change the basement route a little bit (eg, do B2 and DDD first), but I'm open to opinions/suggestions.

I do however have some questions... the whole reason you got so many stars in the beginning was so you could do red cap before BOB. But the way you did BOB lent itself perfectly to getting the 100-coin star and start->exit course. which would mean you could do all previous areas and get 5 less stars since you have 15 at the end of BOB, and still do wing cap...
Ah, but we still needed the first three BoB stars for the Koopa shell to appear. Anyway, thanks for the feedback so far!

Remember the Coin run? Sorry for the really long delay; we ran into some problems, but we'll try to be a little faster for the next couple of levels. WIP of: Aquarium JRB WF PSS CCM TotWC B1 BoB In other words, the entire Lobby. I forgot to change the filename, so it still says "Middle of BoB", so just ignore that.

Anybody mind if I try a run of this? I've always wanted to see a TAS of it, and the current progress seems kind of nonexistent. Obviously it would be a full run of 00 Agent with the fastest possible times. If there's enough support for it (seems like there was for the old run), I'll do it.

The only way to get past the DDD painting/wall is with speed; no jump or wall kick will work.

I'm not completely certain, but I think he kind of got an earthquake glitch going, and somehow used that to BLJ. You can get earthquake glitches going when you're on the edge of a surface, and the stairs seem to meet that criteria.

Sorry for the triple post, but here's exactly what I was talking about: http://rapidshare.com/files/42402876/MylesCornerBLJ.mpg.html Just substitute AKA's steps BLJ for the elevator BLJ, and you pretty much have it, because the corner in the HMC room in the vid and the corner right outside the 30 star door are the same kind.

Myles (the guy from GFAQs) had an idea...there seem to be lots of small invisible walls all around the basement. He said he found one like this right outside the 30 star door, at the pillar. If AKA's BLJ can be done to land at the pillar BLJ spot and keeps going from there (if the speed doesn't "reset") there might be just enough to get through the door. Sounds a tad complicated, but I dunno, maybe it has some potential.
