switched to evilwm. switched all my kde apps accordingly (juk/konversation/kopete/konqueror/konsole becomes xmms/bitchx/centericq/firefox/xterm). slowly warming up to focus-follows-mouse.

The gfceu package has a button configuration thingy. It's probably part of fceu, but that's the only way I know how to trigger it. I think the hotkeys are hardcoded, though.

I had my doubts at first because you were using a lot of the tricks that were in the previous run. Then Jax started moonwalking, and all was well.
Yes vote. Maybe even star-worthy. That was absolutely nuts.

watched morimoto's SMB3 run, was amazed; went to archive.org for more speedruns and watched alexis neuhaus's SMW, wasn't amazed. looked for more until I was tired of archive.org's search utility and finally went to the url mentioned in a few of the runs, which was this place. then, hopeless addiction.

the term "free software" has come to mean "free-as-in-speech" to many, so it can be confusing when a freeware application refers to itself as free software.

I'm inspired to make a hack of this game that drops random subliminal messages in place of "PAUSE", so during TASes you'll be compelled to murder your parents or eat at joe's or something.

the flaming-robot-boss-thingy could have been done at least half a second faster by hitting those three switches earlier.
probably. :/
Also I noticed that the boss refight was significantly slower than the original boss with no apparant reason (I haven't actually checked this, so it could be wrong), which isn't acceptable in my opinion.
As far as I can tell, they're both the same in terms of speed, give or take a few frames.
Although I'm not sure if this should be published since it fails to achieve one of it's goals...
does any obsoleted movie acheive the "as fast as possible" goal, then? I'd say this is a fairly entertaining 23 minutes, and probably much better than any unassisted speedrun that could be done. Not to try to define this site's goals or anything, but in my opinion, that's good enough criteria for the publication of a TAS.

But you could have done more to entertain in the run, especially with the slots. I'd be interested to see how many continues you could rack up by the end of the game.
As far as I can tell, the randomness of the slots is totally unrelated to when and if I stop it on my own, so they're most likely controlled by my movements somehow.
such as in the giant-gear-chasing-you stage.
I really didn't have anything to work with there other than just bumping into the giant gear over and over again. Aside from one missed opportunity involving an autoscrolling section in the Aquatic Studio where there's stacked boxes with gold coins on top, I think I did well with what I had.
