I'm looking at the download stats for the movies I uploaded on Rapidshare and I can tell you that some people already downloaded them, meaning that even if some of you don't like this solution for weird reasons I fail to see, some other people can find it useful as I thought. Besides, even if you don't like it, I don't see the reason of this strong opposition. If you say "I don't think it's a good idea, I won't upload them because I don't want to waste time" I can see your point, but I took the time and the effort to do that, you had to do nothing, and now there is one more option, which is always a good thing. Seriously, it's not like these link can hurt someone! Please step down and realise that some people can't use torrents! I'm helping them.

I actually like Rapidshare, and I'm sad to read this. I know it's not the best option out there, but it's really handy, especially for people who can't use Bit Torrents for various reasons (because they have a strict ISP for example), as opposed to people who don't want to use them. Also, Rapidshare changed a lot since a few months ago, there is no longer a per-IP download cap, and you don't need to enter a captcha anymore. So this leaves us with advertisement (which can easily be adblocked anyway), and some time to wait (usually below a minute anyway), but still waiting time + download time is still a lot faster than most of the torrents. Sure, the popular ones work fine, I got more than 800 kilobytes per second on the Sonic CD speedrun when I downloaded it the same day it went out. But when I try to download the Knuckles' Chaotix speedrun (for example) it finds either no peers or it goes at less than 2 kilobytes per second. I know I am the lastcomer here, and I hope you don't think I'm attacking you, but I think it's at least funny that a website focused on doing things as fast as possible doesn't consider the option to add a Rapidshare link, that would speed up things a lot. I get nothing in return by uploading the movies I have on Rapidshare, because, well, I already have them, but I'm sure that many other people would find it useful, even with the waiting time and all. And let's speak frankly, I think no one is dumb enough to click on their ads and subscribe a premium account on rapidshare, especially now that they uncapped the free accounts. 3 minutes of my time are still nothing compared to the 10 hours I needed to download some of the torrents. For this reason, I began to upload on Rapidshare all the movies I have. Even if they're not going to get an official status on the movie pages, I will set up an unofficial mirror, and I already know that people will thank me for that.

The first Prince of Persia is still one of the best games of all times, imo. I just watched this TAS, awesome stuff. When you walked through the gate was epic. Also, I'm sorry for DeHackEd but I lol'd when I saw that there is a "DEFUKD" password. Aqfaq, you're the first guy to get a YES vote from me :D

So I downloaded FBA and I must say, I'm very impressed, thumbs up to its creator :D I decided to try a TAS of Overtop, one of my favorite games ever. Since I can't submit this yet, let's get some feedback, maybe there is also room for improvement. overtop.fbm The rom for this game isn't that hard to find but I won't post links to rom sites here because I guess it's against the guidelines. Now, some description of the movie. There are 8 cars, each of them with strong and weak points. The Ferrari will go at 300+ km/h on the asphalt, but good luck driving it in the snow level. The jeep sucks on all the terrains, but can effectively take the water shortcut in the third level. And so on. I take an "all around" car that runs quite well on all the terrains. There are 8 colors; they have no effect on the gameplay, other than changing the soundtrack. Picking yellow will give me the best BGM; besides, the frame count gives me 3 cars I like to start with (OMG luck manipulation). This game has a weird collision system when two cars collide, and it's possible to get an incredible speed boost if done properly. So at the start I go to crash into the pink car and my speed gets at 260+ km/h. I could keep on using this system for the whole first level and beat it like 2-3 seconds faster, but I decided not to do so, and let the pink car to go ahead. Why? Well, to make the movie more entertaining, I overtake it in the second level. That's the last overtake that takes place in this movie: I'm already first by then. All the other levels are just pixel-perfect paths, which allow me to end with the in-game time of 3:17.92, which is quite good if you compare it with non-tas runs of that game (a 3:25÷3:30 with that car is a very good time in normal condition). For the lulz, I try to destroy a random amount of the breakable items on my way (signs, cones, etc). The movie ends after I enter "TOM" in the high score screen. By mistake, I forgot to skip the ending credits, but hopefully that's not a hard fix to do in hex or something. Well, I really wish to get some feedback here, and if Bisqwit approve FBA for official use, I will submit this movie. Thanks in advance for your time. :D

I have problems with torrents, and I get very slow speeds on some not-so-popular movies. I'm totally up to upload movies on rapidshare and "refresh" them every 90 days to prevent their deletions. Maybe not all of them, but every little bit can help. The question is: once I uploaded those movies there, would someone (bisqwit?) add a link to them on the movie pages? As "rapidshare mirror" or something...

Interestingly enough, I can't vote on submissions even if I'm reported to be a Newbie now, but that's fair enough, I've been here since a very few days and I can expect there is a trial period of some sort. I've seen that after 30 posts one gets Member status, maybe that's the treshold for voting.

Sorry to post again in this topic, especially because the forum says "If you plan to redo a movie, don't discuss it in this forum". Does this mean that I have to post a thread in the Genesis forum? Don't get your hopes too high, though, as I don't really know how to do a 2P movie or use any of the advanced TAS features in Gens 9.5, in this video I only used the rerecording feature (with F5 and F8).

I have unlimited webspace and unlimited bandwidth, and I will be glad to mirror everything you want (emulators, tools, ...) Just hook me up with a list of the files that should be mirrored and I'll put them up. I'd prefer not to set up a new html page for my downloads, but rather that they will be used as mirrors like [1] [2] on someone else's page (it makes no sense to have 40 front pages that look all the same, imo). I'm just a newbie but I'd like to contribute in every way I can :)

I had sync issues at first, but when Upthorn told me to use a full set of mp3s I could enjoy all of this video. Besides, I have the AVI now. Awesome work, some of the levels are just hilarious like Collision Chaos Zone 3 :)

Hi Bisqwit and everybody on TASVideos. I recently registered here, and I just noticed that, despite of the "To prevent abuse, only the web-site addresses of non-lurkers are shown" notice, my website is being displayed anyway, even if I'm still classified as a lurker as of now (this is my fourth post). I checked on the memberlist and apparently I'm not the only one: http://tasvideos.org/forum/memberlist.php?mode=joined&order=ASC&start=2000 Look at members 2006 and 2007: they have zero posts, yet their websites are being displayed (also revealing that they might be the same person).
