For me, when I use the rewind function, BizHawk often freezes (sometimes with a frozen picture and a looped sound of the last frames, sometimes just BizHazk just doesn't respond anymore.
I've tried several times to wait several minutes, but nothing to do, so I had to kill the process.
Alyosha, aren't you interested in creating an Atari Jaguar emulator at all?
There must be one or two emulators that don't work too badly, but that's all...
Same thing for the 3DO...
Or help to finish CPChawk and/or the Fairchild Channel F emulation?
Or a CD-I emulator? Or an equivalent of Atari800/Altirra?
Or GX-4000, or Amiga CD32.
There are so many "obscure" consoles, portable or not, which do not benefit from a correct emulation...
Watara’s SuperVision etc..
Another thing that would be interesting would be an Emerson Arcadia emulator (there is https://amigan.yatho.com/ which is really quite good already).
Or for the joke an emulator for the Bandai Playdia, the N-Gage (that's a real challenge I think) or the Apple Bandai Pippin...
Or indeed a Xbox/Xbox360/Xbox One emulator! 😂
Or.. ultimately... finaly a good Dreamcast emulator! Or Amiga emulator indeed...
(I wonder, by the way, how complicated it would be to waterbox Redream, nullDC , Chankast, Reicast, DEmul, DreamEMU or Icarus , even if the best would be Redream I guess)
Thank you for this software, but it simply takes into account only the keys on the Xbox360 controller, not the extra keys on the Razer Wolverine Ultimate...
I bought a Razer Wolverine Ultimate, which has six extra buttons (two on the top and four in the back) thinking that I could reassign them to keys on the keyboard or that these buttons could be used directly in BizHazk for hotkeys.
But the software provided by Razor (Synapse) doesn't allow to remap them to keyboard keys, only to gamepad buttons (a, b etc), which is really not useful at all.
reWASD and antimicro only recognizes the gamepad as a simple Xbob controller, with no extra buttons.
Does anyone know a way to remap these buttons?
It seems that I was able to find a way to get around the name problem in the bios quoted above with a "neutral" bios in .nds

Would it be possible to implement a way to dump the video according to the orientation of the screens? (normal, side by side etc?)
Is it planned to implement an option to improve the native resolution as on Desmume X432R for example?
Donpachi random desync.
Dodonpachi random desync.
More tests later.
Sega Sonic Cosmo Fighter and Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car sync perfectly (it will only remain to test SegaSonic the Hedgehog when the controls will be implemented to get the full set of these arcade games), The Killing Blade sync well too, but can't do a full run because I suck at this game.
I managed to do a longplay of '96 Flag Rally, which I tried to do with Mame-rr and FBA at the time but each time the replay was out of sync. With Mamehawk I only had one crash and one desynchronization.

n.b. I use FmpegWritter since Lagarith don't work for Noami.
This two games run at 10-20 fps on my old laptop, will test on my deskopt PC soon.
These are the files, if I'm not mistaken:

I'll be testing runs of other games over the next few days.
So far for the few games I've tested, it seems to work very well, and Sonia's trick for correcting bad dumps indicated at the top of the page (2) seems to work well.

Regarding games with no good dump, they turned some of those warnings into errors, but Karnov seems to be working fine.
Found a fix for that too, and the solution is simple: All you have to do is feed the game's .zip empty files named after whatever is being asked. Example: King of Dragons asks for a "kd29b.1a" file, so you just create an empty file named kd29b.1a (1a being the extension) and put it in the game's archive. Emulator then stops nagging about it and the game runs. This trick works even in the previous version of mamehawk (before warnings turned into errors).
Do the Naomi games work?
If not, is this planned in a future release?
I managed to make a full run of Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (just longplay, not TAS) without desynchronization, but BizHawk crashed a few times when loading save state or rewind.
Set 1:1 pixel size in config - display - aspect ratio.
Thanks for the tips!

About missing roms, does it run in mame 0.220?
Yes it works with Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003/01/01. Master Vers.)
(and others)
And the ratio is even different (if relevant):
It doesn't really matter that the other versions don't work in MameHawk, since the bootleg works and it's just a conversion.
We'll have to see with other games if it really causes problems.
Quick test with Ketsui - Kizuna Jigoku Tachi
(2003+01+01. Master Ver., bootleg cartridge conversion) because other roms don't work:
There is also a difference in ratio between the rendering in BizHawk and the video dump.
In the center the video rendering and behind it, in white, the BizHawk rendering.

In Sync Settings, change "MelonDS" name to "Phoenix", reboot the core, check the Sync Settings, name is changed back to "Bill Nye" (name in the firmware I have).

Has anyone noticed ppsspp has input recording now?
https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/pull/12153
Its goal is for debugging reasons and to reproduce crashes and whatnot(he has explicitly said its not meant for tas), but its not too far away. I guess all thats needed
now is frame counter and to save the frame counter. RTC would be a problem too.
Great news, thanks!
There is a menu option or hotkeys to test this in PPSSPP?
Haha, that is beautiful! The translator took the word "dump" a bit too literally there. :D
If anyone here can communicate this mistake to the Citra devs, please do.
Note that the French version also doesn't differentiate between the "movie" and "video" in that menu, causing even more confusion.

Yes there are several translation errors (at least in French, I guess it's the case for other languages too), I'll try to make a post soon if I have time on their github.
It would also be interesting to have a "pause" function at the end of the reading of a ctm file and not just a pop-up that lets the emulator run in the background until you click on it...
Otherwise, I did a little test, without trying to slow down the emulator, without using savestates or anything else, but on a short ctm movie it reads perfectly and the avi dump works very well.
I'll try to do some more advanced tests if I have time in the next few days.
I still don't really know what is the best codec to use, Lagarith doesn't seem to be supported unfortunately. (For a good weight/quality ratio)
To an internal rendering higher than 2 or 4 times I did not see a significant improvement (in the video rendering) of the 2D textures rendering with the different texture filters (Anime 4k, bicubix etc).
Link to video------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried to redo the first two fights (in arcade mode like the previous video) with the emulator at 50% speed, pauses (F4) and some save states.
During the replay... it didn't go as planned...
Desynchronization is on party time...
Link to video
Emulator at 80% of normal speed, pause (F4) many times, no saves state...
The replay seems OK...
Maybe the saves state break something (on at least some games cause problems during replay)

More tests with ctm replay (no saves state):

Anyone have done a long or full run of any game without desync?
How do you do that?
I can't find anything on the menus or in the hotkeys for that.
In the tools tab there is an option that is simply dump video
https://www.reddit.com/r/Citra/comments/catuon/video_recording/EDIT
Finally I found out where it is...
It's a translation error...
If the interface is in english, it says "Dump video", but if the interface is in french, it says "Supprimer la vidéo" which means to delete the video, so I thought it was just to delete the ctm files...
What are the steps to launch a MAME game with Bizhawk?
Which file should be loaded in the zip?
It only works with the MAMEhawk version posted at the beginning of the topic, not with the stable or dev versions of Bizhawk?
Is MAMEhawk in the "Choose a Platform" list?
I made quite a few bug fixes:
- fixed collision detection
- fixed 12k games
- tuned the colors a bit
- fixed some characters in the built in set
- Fixed sound interrupts
@phoenix1291: thanks for testing. I think the graphics at the bottom of frogger brazil are just because it's PAL 60 (BR) but emulated as PAL 50 (more scanlines), I haven't added a mode for that yet. Some of the other bugs should be cleared up though.
Thanks for the explications.
